Rules and Era+Year for the Mars RP.

Roleplay Rules Section:

Declarations of War: Nations are not allowed to declare sudden wars without permission of the other party OOC. Wars with a formal declaration need a legitimate reason to go to war with legitimate war goals, anaxing a nation is not allowed without the permission of the other OOC, and peace talks must be OOC.

God Modding: You cannot be like "Declares war on you, 100 thousand troops march into your land taking your cities and kills your leader." All roleplay in war cannot be one-sided, you control your nation, not the others.

War Preparations: War takes preparations and so gearing up for war also has visible moves. If you mobilize your nation people will realize and you have to roleplay that too. If preparations are secret then you can roleplay such as "foreign spies would notice young women and men have been leaving their families' farms for major cities, and blacksmiths have been working overtime, demand for iron has tripled in the last few weeks." Sometimes you may be plotting a war for years or months in RP, and then your paper trail can be spread out over that time too.

War Attrition: Your nation defending or attacking will take on war attrition, it is up to the player to determine how much attrition is taken upon one's nation, yet if your nation is for example 5 years into a death war and your people are acting like it's normal "Divine intervention" will change that. Attrition will differ depending on the nation's size, and level of involvement, for example, one year of the Soviets in Afghanistan will yield a very different result than one year in the great patriotic war. Failing to accomplish some or all of your war goals will lead to consequences for your nation determined by oneself. If your nation has attrition yet is close to achieving a war goal or a propaganda victory your population may be content with continuing the war even with the attrition.

Technology and Sticking to it: Technology cannot be super ahead of the current technological year era, so no nukes in the year 1900.

A Realism Issue: With the nature of the RP, not everything will be super duper realistic, but that is okay. Yet we are also not a fantasy roleplay with wizards and witches so tread the line, more realism is good, yet don't bash folks who may not be at the same skill or understanding as you with the realism in every topic.

Related to Triggering Topics: With the nature of the RP, not all will be sunshine and rainbows some groups, nations, and ext may have policies that do not reflect our real-world values. It is not okay to water down the effects of said policies in roleplay and make them seem like sunshine and rainbows and all things good.

Concerning Extreme Topics and Potentially Extremely Trigging Situations: WIP, determining if we use trigger warnings or not.

Related to Extreme Actions: Well our nations may not reflect our real-world values it is imperative to still apply values to our nations, as our real-world values whether we intend to or not, influence how we roleplay and what we do. So think before you do something you may regret!!! Do not get high on your roleplay SUPER DUPER™ nationalistic fever, So heed this warning that some actions may get you the friendly neighbourhood Stasi to pay you a visit.
