Information for World Assembly Voters: Repeal "Protection of Airspace"
Please find below another volume of the Information For World Assembly Voters program.
Our Vote recommendation: For
This resolution would repeal GA#464 "Protection of Airspace" which aims to protect airspace and aircraft movement. The resolution argues that GA#464 excludes World Assembly rules on civilian aircraft to prevent overriding GA#342 "Civilian Aircraft Accord," but this does not prevent future WA regulation and thus makes the exclusion futile. It further argues that the clause regarding registered ITSC aircraft is unclear and redundant due to existing mandates. It therefore argues in favour of repealing GA#464 and replacing it with a more effective resolution.
Ministry Analysis:
The resolution makes a convincing argument that GA#464 falls short in safeguarding airspace control and addressing civilian aircraft protection. The exclusion of World Assembly rules is ineffective, and the provision regarding ITSC registration is redundant. A replacement resolution with more effective regulations has already been written and is ready to be submitted once GA#464 has been repealed. For these reasons, the Ministry recommends a FOR vote on this proposal
