Name: Founder-to-Governor Constitutional Amendment
Date of Passage: 2023/05/XX
Brief Purpose: To close constitutional holes left by the addition of the onsite Governor position.
FOUNDER-TO-GOVERNOR CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT
Appends a definition to the definitions section of the Constitution: “Founder”: the Constitutionally recognized holder of the onsite Governor position.
Replaces Article VII, Section 1 of the Constitution with the following: The legitimate owner of the nation of
Heaveria shall be the Acting Founder of this region. No other government officer or person thereof may claim the responsibilities laid out except for the cases made in other provisions of the Constitution.Replaces Article VII, Section 1, Subsection b of the Constitution with the following: If for some reason, the Acting Founder is unable to maintain their position, the Cabinet and Acting Founder will agree on a responsible, trustworthy, and appropriate person to become their successor, at their discretion. Once a consensus is reached, the Acting Founder shall grant the gameside position of Successor and abdicate the gameside position of Governor, and pass the ownership of the regional Discord server to the successor. Once completed, the change must be publicly announced, and the nation shall replace the previous Founder to be named in the parent section of this Constitution.
Creates Article VII, Section 1, Subsection c of the Constitution as the following: To prepare against the case that the Founder ceases to exist, the Founder must always have the current President named as the gameside Successor at all times. If the Founder ceases to exist, the President shall assume the position of the Acting Founder. If the Founder returns, the President shall be required to return the position to the original Founder.
Creates Article VII, Section 5 of the Constitution as the following: The Acting Founder may set their displayed gameside title at their pleasure, and that title will have no legal basis or bearing, so long as the title is not used by a pre-existing government position and abides by all regional laws.
