Plazland, officially known as the People's Republic of Plazland, or the more commonly known name of Plajia, is a country within central Orientalis. It is the worlds most populous country, with official estimates ranging form around 2.3 - 2.5 billion in population. The numbers are contested. It spans across the central part of the Oriental continent, with primary population centers being near the western coast at the Formosan sea. The state consists of 13 administrative regions, 1 occupation zone, and 1 CK controlled district. Politically, the state borders The State of Charity, and The Republic of Kaizan to the north. Plazland also borders The Imperial Regency to the south.

Although Plazland has a rich history, the majority of it has been lost to time due to multiple efforts at the rewriting of Plazanic history by a range of dictatorial regimes. This has caused a large portion of this history to be contested by the multitude of nations dotting the Formosan archipelago. The official reports have been stated to trace Plazanic history to the emigration from the Yastreovakian continent after prosecution by multitude of Slavic nations during the early 10th century B.C. The method of which they were able to reach the Oriental continent has been disputed for millennia. Civilization can be traced back to as far as the 11th century, flourishing in the fertile basin between the White river and the Janus plains. Throughout the 11th century, the majority of Plazanic civilization stuck to the coastline, where large trading ports could function and thrive. The largest of these trading kingdoms was Janus, named after the city of the same name. Janus the city is said to have been founded a decade before the creation of Janus, the kingdom. Throughout what can be considered modern Plazanic history, it has been seen with the rise and fall of multiple regimes after the collapse of the House of Lida, and the Plazanic monarchy's grip on the nation as a whole, during the late 1890's to modern day. The initial collapse brought to it the rise of the Provisionary government, centered around the then capitol of Orloha. This government eventually evolved into the United Kingdom of Plazland (UKP), which attempted to bring back the monarchy in the lower levels of government with the reestablishment of the many kingdoms which administered the nation. This eventually was put to the test with the rise of Galactism and authoritarianism throughout the 1950's, and the ascension of Bogdan to the leadership of Prime minister. He immediately set a dictatorship around himself, dissolving all elections with the approval of the Galactist held congress, and set a large collection of programs to get the nation industrialized; although these plans ultimately backfired with the majority of the international community isolating Plazland after the Galactist-scare across most of the western world. Plazland would lead the Galactist world through many conflicts, such as the Eastern Conflict and the Collapse of Kian Khe. The Galactist-crisis would eventually end during the 1990's, with the coup of the regime after the reported death of prime minister Bogdan. The coup was lead by High commander Korney, alongside a collection other other army officials and politicians. The following September purge is said to be killed up to an estimated 13 million, although the numbers can range from as low as 2 million to a high of 24 million. There were many resistance groups opposed to the Korney government, most famously being the Marovkin centered around the former Lemongrove regions. The last known resistance group, according to Republican Investigation Agency, was eliminated at around 9:00 pm CPT with the Plazanic capture of Magnitkinsk, causing the last of the Marovkin resistance to disintegrate into the Poc mountain range. A period of great expansion followed in recent years since the global 2030 recession, with expansions in a multitude of neighboring states. The joint-occupation agreement with Yukkira in regards to Dryzia, the occupation of the previous Krionki colony of Formosa, and the invasion and subsequent collapse of Kianhua being multiple examples of aggressive expansion by the state.

Plazland is nominally a Unitary Marxist–Leninist one-party socialist dictatorship. The country has been mostly isolated from the international community since the collapse of the short lived Galactist Union, and subsequent isolation from most international agreements by Chairman Korney during the early years of his regime. Although, there have been some attempts at reintegration into the international trade, with increased exported through Plazland's large manufacturing economy and trade agreements with several nations following the Dryzian border crisis. It ranks among the lowest in international measurements for civil liberties, government transparency, freedom of the press, freedom of religion and ethnic minorities. Plazanic authorities have been criticized by political dissidents and human rights activists for widespread human rights abuses, including political repression, mass censorship, mass surveillance of their citizens violent suppression of protests, and several accounts of outright genocide. These have come further into international scrutiny with the occupation of the Zangai region, and the following events collectively called Bloody February.

After economic reforms in the 1980's by the Galactist regime, and subsequent modernization of many economic industries by the current government including it's reintroduction into international trade, Plazland's economy became the largest economies on the planet by international measurements. Plazland is the world's fastest-growing major economy, one of the wealthiest nations in the world, and the world's largest manufacturer and exporter. The nation has the world's largest standing army — the International Guard — having one of the largest defense budgets, and is a recognized nuclear-weapons state. Plazland has been characterized as a potential superpower due to its large economy and powerful military. With the collapse of economic rivals of Felter and Kianhua, Plazland has been seen making many gains in the international market with it's poor and cheap produced goods. Examples of the increasing international focus of the state being it's joining of G5.

Etymology

The word "Plazland" has been used in one form or another since formation of the first large kingdoms across the Formosan coastline. Although, in most slavic languages, Plajia is more preferred over it's germanic variation. Although "Plajia" is not the name used locally by the Plazanic themselves during this time period. It's origin has been traced back through Kriosaivak, Charitian, and Shinnokawan back the Oriental world Plazīa, used in ancient Formosa.

"Plajia" appears in Srećko Novaković's 1740's translation of the journal of Kriosaivak explorer Nikola Ristovski. Ristovski's usage of the Agiorean Plaīn, which was in turn derived from Oriental Plaīa. Plaīa was first used in early Plazanic scripture, including the Bhāttāchāryā (3rd century BCE) and the Order of the Bantu (1st century BCE). In 1855, Vicente Abarquero suggested that the word Plajia is derived ultimately from the name of the small Kingdom of the Palz (1273 - 1382). Although this derivation is still given in various sources, the origin of the Oriental word is a matter of debate, according to the Königsberg Germanic Dictionary.

The official name of the modern state is the "Military government of Plazland" (simplified Plazanic: Военное правительство Богоарственный; Germanic: Voyennoye pravitel'stvo Bogoarstvennyy). The shorter version is "Plajia" Bogoarstvennyy from Bol'she ("greater") and gosudarstvennyy ("state"). The phrase developed in the late years of the Kingdom of Janus, as a term in reference to the royal demesne of the House of Kalugin. It was then applied to the area around Gwana (present-day Guna) during the House of Lida and then to Plazland's Central Plain before being used as an occasional synonym for the state under the Galactist regime. It was often used as a cultural concept to distinguish the Agior people from perceived "barbarians". Plazland is sometimes referred to as Plajia when distinguishing the Korney administration within mainland Plazland from the Plazanic ethnic minorities in other states, such as the Plazanic minority group within the Islas Langos state of San Sierra.

History

The majority of Plazanic history can be seen as a stagnant rise of different trading kingdoms across the Formosan coast, before the Kingdom of Janus, under control of the House of Kalugin. This part of history is hotly contested between several sources. Official sources state that this was the start of the "Monarchical oppressions", marked with the economic downturns, mass disinterest from the government to do anything about Plazland's situation, and general poor quality of life. Unofficial sources state the opposite, with the Kalugin rule being one of the better centuries of Plazanic history; marked with a rapid expansion of state, centralization, along with agricultural and medical improvements. The House of Kalugin would eve eventually collapse during the 1810's due to the succession crisis, soon being replaced by the second most powerful royal family at the time, the House of Lida.

The House of Lida's control over the Plazanic royal family would be where the majority of the modern Plaznanic history can be traced back to, with it's large influence on history. With the rapid expansion of Plazland over the Poc mountain range through the Nevzorov plateu, the monarchy quickly made gains in order to consolidate the territory; this included the establishment of new kingdoms, and annexation of the Dosta and former Kingdom of Lemongrove, and the forced deportation of around 17 million peoples of around 17 minority groups (The numbers are disputed).
