Polar N-Day summary

Series of events

Engagement I - We got into a nuclear ecxhange with the tag-team factions of EATO and Goldonia. We won that exchange due to sheer mass.
Engagement II - We then got targeted by one of the large factions called The Minotaurs (supported slightly by Olympus Defense Corps), which led to a battle lasting several hours. By the time N-Day had been on for just 4 hours, everyone in Polar at the time had been destroyed. :')
Engagement III - Resolute arrived in the region with a handful of puppet states and had a brief follow-up battle with The Minotaurs (supported to some extent by CARD), culminating in a heroic last stand.

And just like that it was over with a respectable score of -5473.

Conclusions

Apparently size does matter. A solid winning strategy as outlined by Jajan (and seems to have been used by several factions):

Jajan wrote:Yea that's the best way to protect your nation and points for the faction. You should only be in the faction if you are actively fighting for it. You can also hide in mega-factions and let your production get huge, then leave to the faction you want to get points for. The big faction will protect you until you're ready to make the switch. You just have to hope no one target-locks you in the home region before you can switch back.

But I mean, we were never really in it to win.

Stats

Overall we reached an end membership of 56 nations (and a total of ~60 throughout the event) from 28 regions.
Polar peaked in the first hour, reaching the top 25 in the scoreboard for a brief moment.

The Corporate Sectors and Langrick were the first nations to be destroyed, Ilullisaq was the last nation to fall at the end of the second engagement, South Nastania was the last nation to fall at the end of the third engagement.

The first Polar nuke was launched by Fiah, second and third were from Johnified antarctica and Antarctica123 - all from Antarctica, make of that what you will.

We had nations with Russian and Soviet flags and nations with Ukrainian and NATO flags. Talk about cooperation.
