The History of Ascvalion

Lo behold The Corruption and Destruction of Druidine grand and mighty it was Brought forth the exodus of the faithful, Those who remain true to Illuvitar's Law Bless'd with the martyrdom of Aslan the magnificent and his revival glorious, Alsoldur, son of Eledine Lord of the Emperors Guard, Lands in what is now known as Ascvalion in Year 0 of Aslans Era, with a sapling of a White Tree Travels up the Mighty Vallen River and established three cities of the Faithful, Arnergard in the east, Ithilgard in the west and Vallengard in the Middle built around and in the river. Alsoldur Is crowned by the Faithful, High King Alsoldur the first of the newly declared kingdom of Ascvalion and House of Whitetree He would rule for 120 years and his heirs would rule with his divinely granted wisdom for over 1,000 years

In the Year 1675 of AE King Elessar the second of Whitetree is on his death bed with no heirs of Whitetree left. The Ascvalian people pray for his health and for a Whitetree to show him or herself worthy of leadership. Alas it is not the case The Kings and Queens of Ascvalion had a great deal of religious importance to the nation as they were the tenders of The White Tree of Druidine which was born in the light of Aslans resurrection. As a result the Ascvalion people would've never accepted anyone else for the throne, but unfortunately for them foreign nobles circled like vultures for the throne ready to subjugate Ascvalion Elessar the second however had much wisdom to give to his people and called a congregation of the intellectual, devoted, and officers of Ascvalion to Vallengard, The list ran like a who's who of Ascvalion's finest thinkers such as experienced military commander and representative Andrew Youngkin, lawyers extraordinary Henry Adams and James Jackson, Representatives Joshua Gordon, H.H. Daniels, Clint Westwood, Timothy Elder, and Markus Richardson, firey orator Patrick Noble, Even professors Christopher S. Ruell, Margaret Roberts, and book author Abigail Booke got an invitation much to their surprise and that was only to name a few They gathered in the Hall of Congregation and heard the King speak they were to create an entirely new system of government without monarchy The delegates were shocked but after the Kings famous "for Aslan and the Ascvalian people" speech, work began to restructure the government

The neighboring kingdom's of Arda and Frangoth attempted to install a family member as King in Ascvalion and on January 30th 1675, told King Elessar in an passive aggressive manner to elect prince Asanof to be his heir. The prince was cruel man to his subjects and engaged very publicly in all manners of Debauchery and sin, as such he had no place to be the keeper of the White Tree.
King Elessar mustered what little strength left in him to stand from his death bed and decreed that "The will of the Ascvalian people resides in the creator Illuvitar and not bend to his tyranny!"

Andrew Youngkin, Henry Adams, Joshua Gordon, James Jackson, Abigail Booke, and Timothy Elder witnessed this event and after see King Elessar slink down weakly after the royals left, resolved in their Heart that Ascvalion would never accept their prince, and told everyone about the exchange

The Nation mobilized for war and the congregation chose Youngkin to be Supreme Commander of it, Joshua Gordon prepared a Declaration, and the congregation started to construct the new government.

King Elessar, Timothy Elder and Abigail Booke in meantime designed the flag for Youngkins Army, the flag used today,
The family Crest of Whitetree (a black shield with a white Doggerwood tree and seven stars above it) red stripes for blood that was going to bled for independence and three stars on the middle bar representing Ithilgard, Arnergard, and Vallengard. The flag is known as the Elder-Booke Flag today.

On March 18th 1675 Ardan forces arrived at small town called Independence where they knew a local militia was preparing to fend them off. Both sides shouted at each other for awhile until someone shot first and it marked the beginning of the Ascvalian war of independence.
The Militia lost ground at first but pushed back, when Youngkin and the main Ascvalian army arrived and routed the Ardan force with a shock bayonet charge, A strong victory for the Ascvalians.

Skirmishes would occur across multiple fronts and the Ascvalian army would actually trap the Ardan Force in the port city of Pelegir and would remain that way till December.

On December 28th King Elessar witnessed the signing of the Proclamation of Independence declaring the establishment of a Republic and denouncing Prince Asonof
On December 29th Youngkin received a copy of the Proclamation a read it aloud to his army, militias, and the local population, it would be received with outstanding ovation
On December 30th the Ardan Force dealing with food shortage and a rioting population abandoned Pelegir and left to an unknown fate
On the new years eve of 1676 Republicanism was ratified
The Federal Republic of Ascvalion was born
On Jan 2 King Elessar the second, keeper of the white tree of Druidine, lord protector of the people, the Last King of Ascvalion passed into the Great beyond to Illuvitar's Country surrounded by the congregation, and friends
