Sridonauk Hockey League
The Sridonian Hockey League (SHL) is a professional ice hockey league in Sridonia. The league is composed of 32 teams, all in the United Federation, and is one of the four major professional sports leagues in the United Federation. It is the second most popular sports league in Sridonia and one of the most popular hockey leagues in the world.
The league was founded in Wokterlo on May 19, 1910, as the Hockey League (HL). It changed its name to the Sridonian Hockey League on August 7, 1962, after merging with the National Hockey Association. The SHLs regular season runs from October to April, with each team playing 82 games. The league's playoff tournament extends into June. Despite a salary cap being implemented, SHL players are still some of the highest paid in the world, with the two highest contracts being $39 million/year for Pekka Santanen of the Aurbana Shockers and $37.5 million/year for Marcus Kahemki of the Port Carverton Mystics.
The SHL is an active member of the United Federation Hockey Administration (UFHA), which is recognized by the IIHF (International Ice Hockey Federation) as the national governing body for hockey in the United Federation. The league's several international as well as individual team offices are directed out of its head offices in Central Square in Wokterlo, while its SHL Entertainment and SHL TV studios are directed out of offices located in Nauhaka, New Berkshire. In Sridonia, the SHL is the second wealthiest professional sport league after the National Premier League, and one of the top ice hockey leagues in the world, directly rivaling the United States National Hockey League and Eurasias Kontinental Hockey League.
The Swainsboro Monarchs hold the title for most league championships, winning the Watson Cup 26 times. The Aurbana Shockers are the defending league champions, as they defeated the Kamchatka Hornets 42 in the 2025 Watson Cup Finals.
