The Kurosian Articles of Confederation

---

i: Kurosian Nations shall strive to cooperate with one another in all areas, including in matters of research, trade, and defense.

ii: Kurosian Nations may collaborate with foreign organizations on matters of trade, so long as their goals do not run contrary to that of The Confederation.

iii: Kurosian Nations may not declare war on one another, and may not declare war offensively independent of The Confederation. Kurosian Nations may not intervene in foreign military actions independent of The Confederation.

i: The Confederation of Kuros shall consist of Kurosian Nations of full and equal status. Kurosian Nations shall retain sovereignty over their respective jurisdictions within The Confederation.

ii: The Confederation of Kuros will permit limit membership to non-Kurosian states, which shall be referred to as Kurosian Territories. Kurosian Territories shall retain sovereignty over their respective jurisdictions within The Confederation.

iii: The Confederation of Kuros shall posses a central government, responsible for organizing confederal policy and articulating Kurosian goals on behalf of all member nations. The full scope of the central government shall be adaptable to the needs of The Confederation, but shall be led by a democratically elected executive, known as The Chancellor. The Chancellor shall be a citizen of a Kurosian Nation who does not occupy an office of government in their nation of origin.

iv: The Chancellor may craft additional departments to suit the needs of the Kurosian Government, and appoint officials to occupy these roles, or hold elections to fill these offices until the expiration of the term.

v: The Kurosian Government will be elected via plurality vote by Kurosian Nations every (2 IRL Months), and shall govern from an independent district within Kurosian Territory, known as the Kurosian Capital Territory.

i: Those seeking Kurosian membership must represent the common values and vision shared by all member nations, therefore nations looking to join The Confederation as a Kurosian Nation;

a) must not be a party to other alliances, and must not posses goals contrary to that of The Confederation.

b) must be located on the continent of Kuros.

c) must secure the approval of a majority of current Kurosian Nations.

ii: Any Kurosian Nation may invite other states to join The Confederation. Invited nations shall be voted upon by all Kurosian Nations.

iii: Nations NOT located on Kuros may request association status, and join The Confederation as a Kurosian Territory. Kurosian Territories must meet all other membership requirements, and shall be bound by all restrictions contained in these Articles of Confederation. Kurosian Territories may vote on matters of membership, they may not vote in Kurosian Elections.

iv: Members of The Confederation of Kuros may be expelled through a vote of confidence, which may be called by any member nation for reasons such as failing to represent the ideals of The Confederation, failing to abide by the rules laid out in these Articles, or for any other reason deemed significant enough to warrant such a vote. Two-thirds of Kurosian Nations an Territories must vote for expulsion before a member nation may be expelled.

v: Members who wish to leave The Confederation must give other members at least 1 IRL Day prior notice.

i: An attack of any sort on a Kurosian Nation or Territory shall trigger a defensive response, all Union member nations are obligated to come to the aid, militarily, of an attacked member nation. Kurosian Nations and Territories are obligated to enjoin themselves in any offensive or defensive declaration of war made by the Kurosian Government.

ii: Kurosian Nations and Terriroties will maintain and develop their individual and collective capacity to resist armed attack.

i: Member nations may propose amendments or revisions to these articles, should the need arise, for the purpose of improving the document, the organization, to to further the ideals of The Confederation.

ii: Proposed amendments and/or revisions must be supported by a majority of Kurosian Nations before they may be added to the Articles of Confederation.
