The Strange Happenings in Carrig Part 4

The following is the suicide note of one Officer Tim Sullivan, chief investigator of Case 70337
The dreams were becoming too much. After that statement given to me, they started. Dreams of Carrig and the horrible things lurking underneath that cursed town. I tried to remember,i tried,i promise you i tried to remember but i couldn't. Anytime i visited that village i immediately forget it. But the dreams don't forget. I'm not going to waste anymore ink to describe what i saw because no one will believe me anyway, just the ramblings of a madman they'll say. And maybe they're right,i am a madman, after what i found ,who wouldn't be.

So i must go,and i'll leave a warning to anyone who finds this note. I drove out of Corcaigh and i wont be coming back. To whoever finds this note: The time is fast approaching. The sea is key. Go to Carrig and find her. She wont know what she's doing ,and it will be up to you to guide Her , and help Her. The Time is fast approaching and the anomalies aren't showing any sign of stopping.

I have to go ,i have no other choice, they said that my time here is done. the dreams have showed me the way,and i now must bow out and make room for you. Do not mourn me,i am glad to be rid of these dreams at last, ill be at peace,
Remember, the time is fast approaching.

The Corcaigh Times
Bizarre suicide note puzzles nation
On the morning of the 29th, the body of Officer Tim Sullivan was found at the side of a rural road just outside the city limits. The body was in the car where it appears the former police officer had died of asphyxiation from exhaust fumes.
The car was found in the early hours of the morning by a truck driver on his way to work, when he pulled over to see if the car needed help and discovered the body. The police and the paramedics were at the scene within an hour. It was then that the note in question was found.
The bizarre contents of the note have created quite a stir on social media. The note is disjointed and hallucinatory. Given the circumstances ,that is to be expected,it is obvious that Officer Sullivan was suffering from a mental disorder of some type . However his coworkers have said that he exhibited no unusual behavior until after he questioned a source about the now famous disappearance of a fishing crew in Carrig. In fact, the town of Carrig itself is mentioned in the note. According to reports, the town of Carrig is not happy with all the press attention its been getting lately with officials writing off the three mysterious deaths and disappearance as coincidence.

Rain battered down on the window. the sound was relaxing to some, but to Niamh, it meant something worse was coming. She had seen the suicide note on the news, who hadn't at this stage. The time was fast approaching
That phrase played on loop in her head. First it was in her Dad's will ,and now in some random police officer's suicide note halfway across the country. She almost didn't notice it at first but when she looked up the note after, there it was,as clear as day. The time is fast approaching. Essentially the last words her father had said to her.

Something was coming, she could feel it. Carrig hasn't been itself for sometime, ever since the disappearance of those fishermen, everything has seemed a little...off.Theres a sense of eerie calm in the air, even with the torrential downpour. She hasn't said any of this to her mother of course, who is still in the heavy depths of grief. Another conspiracy would probably drive her mad. Her mom had bee taken for questioning last night ,so the atmosphere in the house was a dark one.

Sighing, she hauled herself out of bed. It was dark outside,it was still only the early hours of the morning, but she gave up on the idea of sleep an hour ago.
The stairs creaked beneath her feet,as she made her way through the shadowed hallway towards the front door. She slipped on a jumper and a pair of shoes, and made her way quietly down the porch steps, and headed towards the beach.

The rain fell around her like confetti, but she didn't take any notice of it. in fact, she welcomed the feeling of the cold on her skin,it at least made her feel something other than grief. She walked slowly, after taking off her shoes to feel the sand on her bare feet. She kept her eyes on the horizon,as she did every morning since the fishermen disappeared. She didn't know what she was looking for, but the coordinates her father left her lay out at sea ,and she hoped she would see something,a type of sign.

She took the pocket knife out of her pocket. It was beautiful she had to admit. it had a polished steel fixed blade, about five inches long ,with and elderwood handle with gold plating. She fidgeted with the knife, her eyes focused on the horizon. The sun was beginning to peak above the sealine. She closed her eyes and felt the warmth of the light on her cheecks,as the rain eased off for the morning. She inhaled deeply ,and let out a sigh of resignation. as she was about to open her eyes, the light disappeared from her skin faster than it arrived. She snapped her eyes open and gasped. Just where the sun was a few seconds ago,a black cloudlike shape brewed furiously far out at sea. Flashes of light shot from the blackened mass as it raged and pulsed with anger. Niamh stepped back in fright ,and fell flat on her back, the knife spiralling out of her reach.
Thwack
Her head crunched off something hard under the sand, and nausea swept through her body .She sat up as fast as she could, and rubbed the daze from her vision. She looked back to the horizon. There the sun resumed its path, and the angry black entity was nowhere to be seen. It was as if she imagined the whole thing. Breathing shakily, she crawled her way over to the knife, the pain in her head growing into a dull encompassing ache.
The knife had broken. The blade came away from the handle, much to Niamhs initial despair.
"no no no no no,please no not dad." she whispered to herself. But when she picked up the knife, she saw something strange. The handle had indeed snapped off,but inside it,was a neatly folded wad of paper.
She uncurled the scrap and read its contents.

murder. the time is fast approaching. murdered
