Religious Breakdown
The original faith of the Thumaniyyans was K’alayāvism which was a polytheistic faith with a dualistic nature. K’alayāvism went into decline when Judaism arrived to Thumaniyya during 420 CE. The religion did not completely die out until 1320 CE, when the Gharsud Dynasty forced all the remaining 1,000 practitioners of K’alayāvism to convert to Shia Islam. Although K’alayāvism died out, it influenced Judaism in Thumaniyya in several ways. Several revival attempts have been made to bring K’alayāvism, and there are currently 20,000 followers of Neo-K’alayāvism. Thumaniyya has two official religions Judaism and Shia Islam, but only as the de jure religions as the government is mostly secular and allows people to freely practice their own faiths.
