Kronshtadt Space Agency Reports

Report 1-3
Kronshtadt wrote:-Report from the Kronshtadt Space Agency -

While in talks with the The eu nations to create a European Space Agency, we have continued ahead with the development of Project:Obelisk.

Mission:Olympus Primus was a success! The satellite has established radio communication with the Vologda Spaceport after completing a geosynchronous orbit around Saturn. It has relayed its position coordinates and is surveying the Gas Giant.

Currently 6 months into the 2 year development plan, the robotic construction bots have been completed are are scheduled to launch next week, depending on the weather at the Vologda Spaceport. Three separate rockets will be launched at 1100, 1300, and 1500 hours in succession. Each carrying 2 robots each.

At a cost of ₽ 550 million each, the costs of the Project have ballooned, cutting into the Army and Navy budgets. While at first outraged, the Admirals and Generals have been pacified, as the Navy has been promised command of all Spaceforces in planning, such as Project:Interdictior, which is a carrier vessel currently on the drawing board. The Army has been promised Command of the Obelisk Station once operational, though it is only a shipyard and research station.

Shipments of Station components shall begin launch once the robotic constructors have rendezvous in orbit of Saturn on the topside of the Ring Belt orientated to Earth.

In other news, we would like to buy 1 Fighter from New united carolinas for operational testing.

After successful testing of the New united carolinas Maverick X-1, we would like to order 5 of each types: cargo, passengers, executive, and research.

Base Station: Obelisk is proceeding as planned, with the robotic arms reaching their rendezvous point in geosynchronous orbit around Saturn. The first 3 station components have been launched and are expected to reach the station soon. The station shall be a research base and shipyards.

Our draft plans for the Project: Interdictor are still in infancy. As of now, the design drafts look like this:

The engines will be massive combustion rockets, with 4 small Ion Engines for small cruises (like the IRL NASA one that goes 1cm a day) and testing. This causes the hangar capacity to be a mere 10, however, and we plan on investing in condensing the size of the engines.

We would like to partner with Pegasus Starships our national spacecraft builder Centauri Corporation to help us build the Interdictor-class Fleet Carrier. We have the drawings finished, but need help and your expertise in developing working models and engineering of the first capital ship of Earth.

I will also make the Centauri Corps a page soon.

We congratulate our friends at Shakadia on their successful Mission to Mars! This is surely a historic moment in human history.

Meanwhile, we have 2 major announcements of our own.

1: We have finished research on large Ion Drives with New sistonia. The engines may fit on the developing Interdictor class to conserve space and fuel. However, the engines can only propel the spacecraft at 60m/s on full power, and 30m/s on normal power. Development will continue and is handed over to the Centauri corporation.

2: We are pleased to announce the completion of the Saturn Station: Obelisk. The spaceport and shipyards are now operational, but not fully, with minor systems still coming online. We will begin building the Interdictor Prototype at the station. Power is from the gas turbine which collects gas from Saturn itself. This is owned by our government but to be run by the Centauri corporation

Kronshtadt now lays claim to Saturn, having built a fully operational base orbiting the gas giant.
