Foreign Policy: Open Door — Selective Integration — Isolationism — Closed Door
Emishin is one of the island countries in the world that is rich in cultural values in its people. To keep our tradition values sustainable. In the past, the government had established a closed policy of foreigners where Emishinese people were prohibited from travelling abroad and foreigners were prohibited from entering Emishin. this policy is done because of that reason. when the arrival of a black ship to Emishin which was an American expeditionary fleet occurred in 1853 and forced the government at that time to remove the closed door policy and open Emishin to foreigners. This was the forerunner of Emishin changing from a closed agrarian country to an advanced industrial country in the world. the Emishinese government in the Tozai era now establishes selective integration of foreign policy to safeguard cultural values while receiving influences from outside Emishin in the rapidly expanding world of globalization.
FOREIGN POLICIES
the open door policy led Emishin to accept the social, cultural and political influences of foreign parties without first filtering out what was good and in accordance with traditional values
the selective integration policy brought Emishin to continue to filter out foreign information that entered the current era of globalization to maintain the existing Emishinese tradition
the isolationism policy has brought Emishin to limit diplomatic relations with other countries but has not yet reached the stage of closure
the closed door policy brought Emishin to refuse to establish diplomatic relations with other countries including trade, military and others
