FOOTBALL

The most popular sport in the Kingdom is Football, or soccer as it is known in some places. There are two major leagues, the Association League and the Premier League, each with 20 teams.

ASSOCIATION LEAGUE
The Association League was formed in 1874 as the Olympian League in the then independent Republic of West Olympia. In 1927 the name was changed to the Premier League of West Olympia, and in 2004 to its current name when the West Olympian Football Federation merged with the GHFF upon the occasion of the National Reunification in 2003.

The Association League has 20 teams which play each other twice for a season of 38 matches. The top 8 finishers of the regular season enter the playoffs for the league championship.

League Championship - Olympian Cup
Regular Season Standing Winner - Northern Cup

PREMIER LEAGUE
The Premier League of Grays Harbor is the oldest A-level league, being founded in 1867 with 6 teams in Westport (2), Aberdeen, Union, Port Blanche, and Hoquiam. By 1880 it had grown to 12 teams, and by 1900 to what became the standard 20 teams.

The oldest continuously operating team is Port Blanche, which has been in the league since its founding.

The Premier League has 20 teams which play each other twice for a season of 38 matches. The top 8 finishers of the regular season enter the playoffs for the league championship.

League Championship - Kings Cup
Regular Season Standing Winner - Quest Cup

BASEBALL

The Grays Harbor League was formed in 1921 when the 20 financially strongest teams from 5 leagues joined together. The 5 leagues they jumped from (Northern League - Olympia, Oyster Bay, Brentwood, Graham, Tumwater; Coastal League - Union, Westport, Aberdeen, Carsden; Provincial League - Hoquiam, North Bay, Hoodsport; Midlands League - Kittings, Shelton, Kasten, Montesano; Eastern League - Cushman, Elma, McCleary, Leichester) immediately filed several lawsuits to prevent the disruption, and after over a year in the courts, an agreement was reached forming the National Association of Baseball Clubs which ranked teams by level. The new Grays Harbor League was ranked as the sole Division 1, or Major, league. The league began play for the 1923 season, and has been remarkably stable since then with only two teams moving cities. (The Graham Chiefs moved to Westport as the Somark Chiefs in 1939. They changed the team name to the Sky Chiefs in 1959. The Kittings Stallions moved to Copalis as the Captains in 1955).
