United Provinces of Aeolist (UPA) Creation

The United Provinces of Aeolist was founded under the split of the Rismal Republic, a short lived nation after it's transition into a republic after being a monarchy. Due to lack of representation outside of key cities, like, Riverpool, Freemont, Linton, Andale, Sierra Ursa, and the former capital of Rismal City. Other sizeable cities like the historical Helmshire and Arcport felt as if they're historical significance had not sufficed enough to have power in this new republic. As such, it led to heavy internal conflict and eventually to war.

Revolutionary Period:

In the year 1928 (1828), Helmshire and Arcport and other city-states had split creating the now defunct, Alear Confederacy, (Alear being referenced to a saint, St. Alear). The new Capital had become Willis, a neutral city, seperate from either Helmshire or Arcport. Two weeks after declaring independence from Rismal, the Alear Confederacy had sent troops (Aprox. 10,000) to the former capital, Rismal City. This attack proved futile as the defenders of the capital were prepared for such an attack. Rismal pushed back, sending 35,000 troops to attack a small city named Cooper which would split both Arcport and Helmshire from land transportation. As well, serve as a means to, by sea, further split the two cities.

This attack on Cooper was hard met, by both defenders, and the newly found People's Army of the Alear Confederacy. Grand General William Karrey and General Jeffery Shultz had been assigned to defend the newly found confederacy. Their first inclination was to defend all major cities along the coast, this included Helmshire, Arcport, Cooper, and Cadbury, as they were the essential cities both economically and militarily. Grand General William Karrey focused on offensive planning while General Jeffery Shultz was assigned to the defensive planning. Recruiting Jeffery Molton to his aid, Gen. Shultz and Gen. Molton had strategic defensives coordinated across the costal cities.

The attack on Cooper was led by Gen. Sergio Alvarez and Gen. Kav Mason in 1928. The assault on Cooper was attacked with 35,000 soldiers, and the defensive force had 8,000 defenders. had lasted six days, with the defenders defeating the superior force. With blockading, guerrilla tactics, and poor coordination of their enemies, the smaller force led by Grand Gen. Karrey were able to push back the force of 35,000.

After the Siege of Cooper, the People's Army was led by Grand Gen. Karrey, Gen. Kam, and Gen. Franklin led offensive strategic attacks against Rismal. While Gen. Shultz and Gen. Molton led defensive strategies for any attack by Rismal and it's City-State allies. Though most of the Revolution was a stalemate that ended in early 1934.

Post-Revolutionary Period:

This confederacy lasted until mid-1934 (1834) where Telic, a small city in central Aeolist was made the new capital as to not favor one city over another. This was after the long lasting stalemate between both Rismal, and fellow allies over the course of six years. Later in the first election, Grand Gen. William Karrey was voted in as first President of the new United Provinces of Aeolist (UPA), and led to the creation of the New Rismali Republic with the city states, Rismal City, Riverpool, Andale, and Sierra Ursa. Also two city states in the southern area named Fremont and Linton.
