Station Zebra a British meteorological station built on an ice floe in the Arctic Sea, has suffered a catastrophic oil fire; men have died and shelter and supplies have been destroyed. The survivors are holed up in one hut with little food and heat. If help does not reach them, they will quickly die.

At present in an estimated position of 85° 40'N., 21 °30'E., which is only about three hundred miles from the North Pole. Its position cannot be known with certainty, because of the clockwise drift of the polar ice pack.

.....although it's odd there are no records after 2009

Yeah, I don't quite know how the Wayback Machine functions. So how and when it chooses to take a "capture" of a site is beyond my understanding. Perhaps it has to do with a certain amount of activity that triggers a capture? I know that if there have been no captures on the address you enter, it gives you the option to manually take one.

Yeah, I noticed some that were just "arctic" themed. I wonder if it was a popular destination for the Travelling Region?

Commander James Ferraday wrote:I didn't remember it being that active, I think it was founded again between 2008/9 and now but not so active the second time, I can't remember the very first founding date.

Were you involved with the earlier iterations of the region? I see your nation's age is quite young, but perhaps you had other nations at the time?

I'm very pleased to have stumbled upon this place. I really love when I discover yet another small but wonderful corner of NationStates that I didn't know even existed :)

What made you re-found this latest time?

I 're-founded this time for the card game but I'm only into it in a small way

Ah, I'm into the card game in a big way :)

Got any collections that you're trying to build?

In the first series I collected everyone in regions I had puppets in now I just keep anything interesting to me nations and regions you didn't know existed can pop up, I came across one moderator a while ago (can't remember which) who didn't have a card for either season despite being an old nation that seemed weird.

Yes, the card game is a great way to discover new nations and regions. I've come across many that way.

Was that moderator "Sedgistan"? (didn't want to ping him by linking to his nation). If so, he only just revived his nation recently, after some number of years being CTE (maybe four?)

Hey, that's pretty cool. I didn't even know about the NS ships before coming here. Glad the tradition is being kept alive.

I presume you guys in Arctic have a rivalry with Antarctic Oasis?

I suppose it's time for me to be shipping out. So many more regions out there to visit.

Thank you so much for the hospitality and excellent conversation! I hope to stop by again sometime. And I'll be sure to pass on the coordinates for this place to any other passing ships I may encounter.

You can call in if you wish, we are probably in the canteen playing cards, just knock three times and tell them Boris sent you.

Hi Tribute4rt- welcome we are alive but we only stick our heads out every few days normally.
