We're taught that we are strong but fragile, and a single bullet can and will end us before we have time to react. Than, the undead come, and they register nothing. They feel no pain, they don't even flinch if they rip their arms off to continue walking, bullets do nothing except to the head, fire is slowly and doesn't always kill them, shrapnel grenads only kill like two in the immediate vacinity and the shrapnel does jack to the others, they can't bleed out, can't have lowered morale or broken spirits. They can't be taken prisoner because they have no info and they'll just try to eat, they don't sleep or rest, they can't drown or suffocate, they can't even be killed with bombs since those rely heavily on the back draft or whatever, which sucks the air up to create the fireball and pulls out people's lungs in the process or cooks them. Then, there is the whole point of whoever you've been taught to look up to for answers all your life is just as equally freaked out. The cabinet is not immune, the leaders could very will be infected, soldiers aren't immune, and the whole world is falling apart.

I personally think societal collapse in a zombie outbreak won't really be a thing, unless the virus is something really good that only becomes active for the first time after infecting loads and loads of people everywhere. On the small scale, the initial outbreak can be contained by modern militaries

Ienovo wrote:Both government ministers made the jump, although landed roughly on the other building. As voices gotten louder, it was now confirmed that more zombies were coming, the scientist looks down and sees if he misses the jump…. It is over for him. As he jumps, he heard the soldier shooting his gun, making him jumpscared as he didn’t expect to hear such loud noises at his most dangerous stunt, making him miss and was holding for dear life.

"Argh!"

He throws a paper on the ground, where the others could get it. He felt it was over for him. The PM tries to help him get him back up, but he was too heavy to do alone and by the time the others arrived, as they have been far away from the jump point.

"Bless your soul mister Prime Minister, but… you have to let me goo.."

"I can’t do that"

The other soldier jumps, leaving nobody else in the building that the zombies are. The soldier turns around, but it was too late. The Pm lost grip of the scientist. So the soldier, while the scientist falls to his death, gets shot by the soldiers.

"He better die now, then get turned into a zombie, come on."

He grabs a note, that the scientist left.

I was able to find a cure, although the quantity was too small to do much. We need larger quantities. Start producing, start researching now. There is hope for humanity.

The spetsnaz cursed under his breath as they started sprinting. Over the radio, a muffled voice spoke out. "Это Раптор-1, приедет за посылкой. У нас есть двухминутное окно, и я почти уверен, что нас здесь не должно быть, так что поторопитесь." The staticy voice said as a helicopter flew over. It went ahead a few miles before stopping, hovering over a small building. It was only a few roofs away, but the soldiers on the walls were more than likely going to stop their rescue attempt to "slow the spread".

The next gap was much smaller, but not any less dangerous if one failed. The infected stumbled through the streets like a wave, and it was a matter of time before they would start making their way to the wall. Where the helicopter was, the side gunner was busy unloading round after round into the infected, slaugthering them by the hundreds, although they all knew it was small compared to the mass that was infected Tokyo.

I believe that there can be, but the first few subjects will show that they're now just rotting corpses, so it'll be better for a vaccine

I recommend you read WWZ, the book is f*cking phenominal and I think someone like you would like it. It covers almost all aspects of a zombie virus, including the collapse, and I've drawn numerous insperations from it for this, i.e. the black market increasing spread. I believe, personally, that you simply underestimate the power of fear. Fear will make people genuinely lose it, and if they see these people that are supposed to protect them either abandoning them, also losing it, or dying just as they are and not invincible, then who will you have to turn to other than yourself?

Lankadeepa wrote:Idk the evil emperor storyline goes well Imo, cause he did experiment the virus thing on himself. And Tang would always be a spy cause she's the director's daughter.

Maybe we can actually continue from where we stopped the actual rp, though now their goal would be escaping Japan/Tokyo and not going to palace. Maybe we can start it from them being in the uni but I don't want to rp the Asuka spy story again

Okay !

As Asuka wakes up from her day of escaping. She sees Tang, to her surprise!

"Hey Tang! I’m glad to see you"

Tang smiles and replies "I am glad to see you too, my bestie"

"That is odd to see many students"

The princess calls a random student : "Excuse me? Is there a special event?"

"Oh… Didn’t you hear?"

"No?"

"The country is in lockdown, our school is shut, there is a virus… or something going on."

Asuka and Tang worries for a bit, till Asuka’s phone rings. Tang looks at the princess in an answer it sorta look. She answers. "Hello?"

"Your highness. This is Satoru.

"Oh hey! How is my dad going?"

"He is dead. Now, I know it will sound crazy, but your dad got turned into a zombie and now the whole city is contaminated with this virus. You are on danger, I wish to talk to you more, but right now you GOTTA ESCAPE"

Loud gunshots were heard in the background, as if he or people were shooting zombies. The phone hangs up. The princess looks at Tang and grabs her arm and pulls her to the exit. Tang screams "WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON ASUKA? WHO WAS IT?"

"No time to talk! We gotta escape! We are in danger!"

They head to 3 different exit doors… Locked, they beg to get out, but to nobody’s response.

"Tang. Bring me somewhere safe, I will explain everything "

That is assuming armies collapse fast. From hat I've heard wwz covers that part too but I'm a skeptic. There's also a middle ground between people underestimating stuff and total fear. This middle ground fear will actually make the people follow government instructions more Imo, asuming the government doesn't collapse.

Eitherway it'll all depend on the scale of the initial outbreak. On the small scale, It'll be like the comedy movie Shaun of the Dead where the army solves the issue in like 48 hours. In the large scale it'll be bad but for that there should be a way for it to reach large scale. A really good movie, I think Night of the Living Dead, covers this well. There the virus doesn't spread just through bites and any person that dies, no matter the cause of death, will get turned to a zombie by it. That's truly a terrifying scenario that really can't be countered

So, in WWZ, it's stated and shown that the government had the info and did nothing with it. They made a "miracle cure" for what they thought it was, which was African Rabies, and sold it enmass and caused a sudden calming in the masses. However, they have more than enough evidence and only Israel takes it seriously (w Israel) but it is highly realistic considering how China acted during covid. This willful ignorance and purposeful keeping of info is what leds to the Great Panic, which is the collapse of all society in the book. However, since we knew before hand and it wasn't kept under wraps, we were prepared, which is why it's hard to try to make it become more of a threat and keep things interesting without willfully sacrificing things

Governments will definitely hide info, but they'll also take it more seriously from the beginning, compared to covid.

People also will be more willing to follow rules compared to covid when they see how dangerous it is from the beginning

Yooo, do you guys remember some guy named Rashid? He was Ex- Internal Minister of Ardenia; New Ardenia and Aura.

"Why are the doors locked? does someone want to trap us here?" Tang asks, confused and scared. She swears in Japanese, before heading to the nearest window. She peers outside of it, to see that outside it was all clear. No one in sight. The good thing is that it's only locked from the inside. Getting out of it is not an issue.

"Now what?"

"Now we run, before everyone else here gets the same idea. I know a place where we can rest." Tang says, and they both begin running. While on the run, Tang questions her friend, while panting. "So, what's going on?"

IN WWZ, that’s exactly the point. No one is told how dangerous it is until later

That'll definitely happen. But the guys with the info will also be more prepared Imo and quarantine will be a big thing if it starts to spread

The zombie movie I intended to mention isn't Night of the Living Dead, it's The Walking Dead. Apparently there every dead person gets the infection without any zombies needing to bite them

Im sorry school and social stuff are demanding a lot of time from me these last few days so I can’t always find a lot of time to read and respond but I will try to find more time

Lankadeepa wrote:Lashen is slumped on a sofa, a bottle of beer on the coffee table in front of him. The lid of the bottle is still sealed. His eyes are closed, but he opens them hearing footsteps, as the director enters the room. He immediately approaches his president, taking a seat across from him.

"It's done, just as you wanted, sir. The body is preserved, and when this is all over...we'll be able to give her the send off she deserves."

"Thank you." Lashen murmurs. "The situation..."

"Hasn't changed a bit since the evening. Only twenty dead, and so far only two students in quarantine have shown signs of the virus. We'll...dispatch them before it's too late."

"Only twenty one dead then. Why did this have to happen to her."

"If it is of any comfort to you, just rememebr that you're not the only one suffering. There's no sign of my daughter in the quarantined list. I don't think she ever came back. I don't know how she gave them the slip." Here there's some pride mixed with his sorrow. "I don't know whether to feel relieved...or sad...about this. The situation everywhere else isn't too good."

"I can't see comfort in the fact that I'm not the only one suffering from personal loss. The parents of the students that lost their lives...But what's going on everywhere else?"

"The situation in the quarantine centers...It's just as we feared. The military guard there is strong. But they're almost always too slow to react. Only 1% of the quarantined groups showed signs of the virus, but by the time we managed to separate the groups, we've lost 36%. And there's no way to say who else is infected. At the end, we predict a mortality rate that exceeds 50%."

"Is that the worst so far?"

"For now. But that's without accounting for those not in quarantine. The Lankans who came back from Ienovo before the evacuations...their infected number is increasing. So far, only one of the Indian students turned, and the situation was similar to what happened here. But the MoH has predicted many more cases that aren't identified...yet. And if there's an outbreak in India...The virus, if it is a virus, has evolved too. Now sometimes it only takes minutes for some to turn, while the original victims went on for days without any signs."

Lashen gives a dry chuckle. "At first we were happy that India was safe, and that we have China and their war to thank for it. But not it seems like they'll have to stay safe from us." He leaned forward a bit. "I've sent word to the MoH. They have complete authority to order a lockdown of the entire nation. We'll close all borders, and we'll also publicize the knowledge of the virus."

"Closing the borders will protect us from any outbreak from China, or Vietnam. But lockdown will leave us with a frightened populace."

"The more scared they are, the more likely they'll follow our instructions." He leans back again. "If only...if only I gave this order yesterday. She'd still be alive. Even without that, I should've kept her home from as soon as we learnt about this virus. But...then I'll be a hypocrite in the face of everyone else."

"Her ladyship never would've agreed to stay at home. She was always brave, and her death was a sacrifice she chose to make. But now, the important thing is that you forget about everything, at least for the time being. You can't give up."

"I won't give up. I...promised her...that much."

"Then she'll be proud and happy, wherever she is now."

Lashen stood up. "My decision is final. Total lockdown and closing all borders. Give the army to mobilize reserves if the need ever arises. I keep my promises.

The director stands up along with him, with his features softened by some happiness. "That'll be done within the next hour. But...even though I said you should forget everything...there's one matter I can't not discuss. The First Lady's passing was not revealed to any media. But you can't hide it from her family. They have the right to know."

Lashen falls back onto the couch. "Her family...haven't you seen the news from Vienna. As much it pains me to say so...Rudolph is already a broken man...ordering people to church. How do you think he'll take the news?"

"They deserve to know, even if the circumstances can be covered up."

"The circumstances...I can't lie to them about her death. But I can't tell them she died by my hands. I killed her. I can't hide that forever."

"Legally, is was an assisted suicide. Both of you made the right decision, and you know it. I'm sure they'll know it too, if you choose to tell them that."

Lashen shakes his head. "I can't...I just can't. They'll hate me, and I'm not sure if that'll be unjustified."

"They should be given the chance to grieve, without finding out only too late. They will hate you at first. But they will come to understand..."

"I can't tell my mother and father in law. Just...not yet. But if her family needs to know, I'll reach out to...someone else."

"I'll leave you to that." The director turns to leave, but Lashen calls out again. "I haven't been able to ask the MoH about the possibility of a cure. Even if I didn't...I couldn't...wait for the possibility of one being created for her..."

"They aren't optimistic. They're getting samples from Ienovo, and we've collected samples from our own victims. But it's hard to reach a conclusion. It might hurt hearing this, but some samples were collected from her ladyship and..."

"I don't care about that." He stares out into the night sky. "And it'll make her happy if she knows she could help...even if she isn't with us anymore."

"Her condition was somewhat interesting to the doctors, because considering how fast other victims around her turned..."

"She said it herself. She was surprised she made it here without becoming one. And all that time, she was feeling herself losing control. It's...painful to think about. She said it might have been our love, or her will, but if it's something else...you don't need to ask me."

The director nods. "But even if we find a cure, the MoH isn't sure if it can really even call it a cure. Who are curing with that? already dead people who decay by the minute? Their only hope is to find something that'll stop the virus from taking any more lives. A vaccine maybe. But we can't do it alone."

"I'll handle the diplomacy. We can't let this continue."

The director is satisfied. "Then I take my leave. It's past midnight now. You should rest."

Lashen stands up with him, and he seems tired. "I will. But...there's something I need to do before that. I've thought about what you've said." His tone is one accepting defeat.

The director understands, and he leaves while Lashen makes his way to his office, switching on his computer. He opens an Email, and begins to type; a message, or rather a confession, addressed to the kaiserin.

Your majesty, I've decided to tell you about this, because at the moment, you're the only one close to me in Dietsland that I can trust. What I have to tell you...

He doesn't skip everything, choosing to include all the information. When he clicks "send", he has no regrets.

I hope that you understand what happened, and understand my decision...and her's. Even though I lack the courage to tell everyone else about this, I won't oppose if you choose to do the right thing., the Email says at the end.

Late at night, in the quiet of her quarters at the Hofburg Palace, Kaiserin Maria Theresia II sat at her desk, her eyes scanning the email she had just received from Lashen. At first, she couldn't comprehend what she was reading. The words seemed disjointed, surreal. As the full weight of the confession settled in her mind, her hands began to shake. Tears welled up, blurring the text before her.

It was the news she had feared but never dared to fully acknowledge. Her cousin, a woman she had grown up with, someone who had been a symbol of strength and love in the chaos of their world, was gone. And it wasn't just the loss of her life that broke Maria Theresia's heart; it was the manner of her death. Lashen's words were riddled with pain, guilt, and the weight of an impossible choice.

The Kaiserin couldn’t keep the tears from spilling over as she covered her face with her hands, sobbing quietly. For a moment, she felt as though the weight of her empire, her family, and the world was crushing her all at once. How could such tragedy have befallen someone so dear to her? And Lashen... he had been left with the unbearable burden of making that final decision.

Wiping her tears, Maria Theresia stood up, lighting a candle near the ornate altar she kept in her chambers. She knelt, her hands folded in prayer, seeking comfort from something greater than herself. The candle flickered softly, casting a warm glow over the small space, but there was little comfort to be found tonight.

She knew she couldn’t leave this in silence. She couldn’t reply with just an email. Her cousin's death, and Lashen's guilt, required more than typed words. Taking a deep breath, she grabbed her phone from the desk and hesitated for a moment. Then, with a trembling hand, she dialed Lashen's number.

Franchetti wrote:"I agree will try to reach out" He said worried

"I agree but we can not risk getting help from other states because the other best countries wat research had already been affected. "

He nods "I agree I will announce that we will have a time of prayer from 8 to 9 in the morning and 7 to 8 at night. "

He nods.

I think we can end it here maybe the king and kaiserin should get all the ministers and generals toghether in a joint location where they can run everything Switzerland perhaps we also need to send soldiers to the NEF border with the virus spreading there
