You know, you're welcome to join us in Wintreath too if you'd like.

If NationStates were still my main community game, I probably would. But I'm pretty heavily involved in the "player civilization" scene in No Man's Sky, and it's hard to slot in a second community when you've also got a full-time job. :P Appreciate the invite, though.

We're pretty chill in Wintreath and there's not much work to do, feel free to just lurk and hang around too if that's your thing! If not that's totally understandable too

Player civilization scene? I gave No Man's Sky a try a few years ago, but got kinda bored with it. Has it gotten any better?

But yeah, Wintreath is a casual community these days. There's a few who still make NS their main thing, but most chat on the Discord. No worries either way, the door's always open if you want to in the future though.

Considerably better. Multiplayer can be a little unstable at times, but the other content more than makes up for it. You can take portals just about anywhere as long as you know the coordinates, there's way more variety of everything, a main story that'll make your head spin, tons of post-story content including a couple of hidden factions, and just... it's a lot. And all those updates since launch were free. Apparently Sean Murray has said they've made enough money selling the game that the company could keep releasing free updates for the rest of their lives and still never go broke.

But anyway, if Wintreath is casual then maybe I'll hop in. Could always use more folks to chill with.

I might have to give it another try sometime then, though that might be awhile. I'm trying to finish My Time at Portia before the year's out, and I've been feeling like I'd like to revisit Diablo 2 or Skyrim afterwards. That's cool that the updates are free though...I kinda wish some other games I had would adopt that philosophy *cough*Stellaris*cough*.

But yeah, feel free to join whenever you like. We even keep the politics stuff contained to a single, opt-in channel, so you can even avoid that if you'd like. :D

So, we've gone from one to three Sinker regions now. Long overdue, if you ask me.

My understanding is if a nation is banned from all 3, they'll still be sent to one of them, so at that point the sinkers may just be bouncing banned nations among each other.
