A long time ago, I had a flatmate that believed in a reptilian conspiracy. Totally normal in all other aspects -- no bigfoot, no gray aliens, no Elvis-walks-among us. I would certainly prefer those reptilians overlords to attacks from the Shia sects currently oppressing Persia. With religious zeal they believe in a necessary worldwide destruction (and some believe, a near obliteration of Iran) must occur before the Mahdi is revealed. If they have to initiate it by the hand of Allah, so be it. This kind of mindset is not one wants others to have, viz., that a first-strike nuclear option would further Allah's plans or please the will of Allah to reveal the Mahdi. Self-fulfilling prophecies are usually the worst sort.

They are either ours, or given Biden's track record, the CCP. If NJ shoots a few of them down we would know immediately if it was ours. However, that they are flying over critical infrastructure like the Communist balloon gives credence to a PLA incursion for evaluating their likelihood of their winning a nuclear first strike. If it is Iran it won't be the first time our enemies in the middle-east reverse engineered stolen military ordinance still on our drawing-boards and fast tracked them into production for use against us.
