Four stadium to receive overhaul ahead of the 2021 FIFA U-20 World Cup

    | In anticipation of the upcoming 2021 U-20 World Cup, PSSI has authorized four stadiums for a complete overhaul to ahead of the event. With no experience hosting any major FIFA events, the country's stadiums is almost virtually unable to support such a large audience, and major improvements is required thereafter. PSSI President Mochamad Iriawan has nominated four stadiums he deemed "unfit" for the event. These are:

      • Gelora Bung Tomo, Surabaya

      • Jalak Harupat Stadium, Soreang

      • Kapten I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Gianyar

      • Gelora Sriwijaya, Palembang

    | Each four of these stadiums will receive their own unique "upgrade" in accordance to their size and importance. Gelora Bung Tomo (GBT, for short) will receive a reinforced roofing system, especially during the Pancaroba season. Other stadiums such as Gelora Sriwijaya and Jalak Harupat would instead receive massive renovations/extension of their parking space, expecting large crowds of people, consequently amassing cars and motorcycles. Kapten I Wayan Dipta is expecting a major overhaul, expanding it's capacity to 26,000, with an additional 100 for VIP seats. The other two stadiums expected to host matched, Gelora Bung Karno and Manahan Stadium will receive minor changes, mostly heightened safety fences and a new LED screen to display scores.

BRSC: deals signed on 300MW green hydrogen plant

Porto do Açu Operações SA, the managing authority of the Acu Superport in Rio de Janeiro, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the BRSC and 3 universities in the city on the construction of a 300MW green hydrogen plant in the area.

The Acu Superport is Latin America's largest privately-owned deepwater port-industrial complex, and the placement of the new hydrogen plant there will produce 250,000 metric tons of green ammonia. The provision of green hydrogen and renewable power is expected to drive sustainable industrialisation of the port, spearheading the environmentally conscious production of steel, fertilisers, chemicals, fuels, and other sustainably manufactured industrial products. The Acu hydrogen project follows a previous $5.4 billion USD agreement* by Enegix Energy to build the world’s largest green hydrogen plant in Ceará, which would produce 3.4GW of renewable energy.

Collaboration between the universities, BRSC, and port authorities will also include the construction of future onsite solar power and offshore wind development projects, primarily located in the states of Rio de Janeiro and Espirito Santo, with a new offshore wind farm to be constructed by Rio-based Votu Winds in three phases, producing a cumulative capacity of 1,440 MW. The green hydrogen plant, along with the Votu Winds offshore project will both accelerate the decarbonisation of Brazil, permitting it to reduce its reliance on unsustainable fuels and reduce the nation's carbon footprint as a whole.

            Merger and Election
T.A.M.I.L. Party joins T.N.A. in the lead-up to the election
            March 25th

P. Ananya and the Tamil And Minority Integrity and Liberation Party have voted to join the Tamil National Alliance in this upcoming election. Ananya mentioned that 'there is no use fighting against your allies' and believed that 'splitting Tamil votes' wouldn't help anyone. As Ananya gains popularity, and as the election on the 5th of April draws near, the Rajapaksas and other members of the Sri Lankan government have criticised Ananya and the TNA has 'Tamil Tiger croonies,' 'terrorists,' and 'liars,' while Ananya has continued on her strong anti-Sinhalese message.

One key difference between the two parties currently in their election tactics is one some commentators say could win TNA the election. While the current ruling party continues to put all minorities in the same basket during their attack on TNA, Ananya has subtly mentioned 'Sinhalese allies' in a number of her social media posts. This small difference may make all the difference as voters make their voices heard next weekend.

Byeloruthenia Protest Coverage

Welcome to Radio Free Europe / Radio Liberty's online coverage of the ongoing protests in Byeloruthenia against President Alyaksandr Lukashenka. Almost four months ago the Byeloruthenian Central Election Commission (CEC) or «ЦВК» announced the official results of the presidential election - ~80% for incumbent President Lukashenka (who has ruled for 26 consecutive years) and only ~10% for popular opposition candidate Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya. With the opposition's own poling showing an almost inverse situation, large protests sprung up all across the country.

Protests continued for multiple weeks, before freezing for the winter. Tsikhanouskaya, the main opposition candidate, fled to Poland after being abducted by the State Security Committee (KGB) or «КГБ» and later created a Coordination Council to organize the transfer of power from Lukashenka. A large crackdown ensued, as the regime arrested and detained people at will. Almost all members of the Coordination Council were arrested, and over 45,000 people have been detained during the protests. As a result, large street protests stopped changed into acts of passive resistance: flying flags from balconies, documenting violations, flash mobs in public areas.

> Steet Protests Resume on Freedom Day:

Responding to President-Elect Tsikhanouskaya's call for a resumption of street protests on Freedom Day, tens of thousands of people have swarmed the streets of every major city in Byeloruthenia. The largest crowds were seen in Minsk, where people marched gathered on the Independence Square and the Great Patriotic War Museum, marched down Independence Avenue, and held rallies in numerous smaller locations. The crowds in many locations around the country were comparable to those of the ones in autumn.

The police presence in Minsk was large as was expected, but in other cities the amount of police and interior forces was small. A police barricade was set up on Independence Avenue, and police forces used tear gas, stun grenades, and water cannons to disperse the large march on the avenue. BYPOL, a self-described «union of security forces of Byeloruthenia» - ex-security force officers who have «defected» to the opposition, claim the regime does not have enough personnel to properly cover every city with loyal police and interior forces.

More protests are expected all along this week, with the largest ones most likely taking place on the weekend.

> Regime Seeks Assistance from Russia:

Due to the aforementioned personnel shortage, the regime has sent a call for assistance to the Kremlin and the Russian government. This call was seemingly responded to, as members of the Rosgvardia, the National Guard of the Russian Federation, were seen on the streets in Vitebsk and Homiel. Further sightings of Russian SOBR members in Minsk late in the evening were also reported.

Surprisingly though, the Rosgvardiya members were seemingly very passive. Most eyewitnesses report them only standing around and limiting their interactions with people to a minimum. The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not respond to our requests for information regarding any deployment of Russian forces into Byeloruthenia.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu forms next Government of Israel...

After the up and down rollercoaster of the Israeli 2021 election, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has secured a coalition deal to form the next government of Israel. After a weekend retreat with his potential coalition partners, the leaderships of Likud, Yamina, Hayehudi Hahadash, Mafdal, Arab Democratic Party, and The Christian Front have all reported to the media a formal coalition agreement has been signed by all party leaders. The 36th Government of Israel, leader by Prime Minister Netanyahu, is set to be the first government in Israel's history to represent the Israeli Arab Community with seats in the Government and Cabinet Ministers, part of the Coalition agreement affirmed Prime Minister Netanyahu would appoint 4 Arab MK's to the Knesset, and in exchange the Arab Democratic Party would drop some of its hardline Anti-Zionist elements in favor of positions pertaining to national unity.

According to other sources, the agreement features a number of other concessions by the more Right Wing elements of Netanyahus coalition to to the Centre and Arab wings including the expulsion of Anti-Arab and Anti-Two State Solution MK Naftali Bennet from the Government. According to a source from within the Mafdal party a condition for their membership in the coalition, along with social policy concessions, was that Bennet be stripped of his cabinet portfolios and ejected from the Coalition. Ayelet Skaked and Prime Minister Netanyahu, the leaders of Yamina and Likud respectively, obliged this request and removed Bennet from the coalition.

Following the announcement of Israel's new government, Prime Minister Netanyahu declared that his new government would be one for all that reside within the Zionist State of Israel, that new investments into social programs, investments into the Arab Community, and new investments into infrastructure were on the horizon. Despite this, many political pundits within Israel and without don't believe a Netanyahu Government propped up by an Arab Party that has "renouced" it's anti-Zionist ways is meant to last. Some are predicting the government will fall and Netanyahu will be ousted fro Ben-Gurion House as early as September. What is known for the moment is Bibi's reign as Israel's longest serving Prime Minister continues for now.

Government interested in resuming Strategic Interoceanic Corridor
Prime Minister David de León met with Central American businessmen in which he expressed the government's commitment to resume the interoceanic corridor of Guatemala and declared it a project of "great national interest".

During a ceremony held at the Casa de La Reforma, the prime minister affirmed that the Bukele government is doing everything possible to resume the ambitious project that will have a "very high impact on the national future" both economically and socially. The construction of this interoceanic corridor, which is an innovative model, will open a new path for cargo transportation between the Pacific and the Atlantic. De León assured that the "first firm step" to resume this project will begin in the middle of this year if the necessary agreements and investments are reached. The passage of the merchandise in the interoceanic corridor will take place in a total of 4.5 hours according to developers. "This project will be a model of social and economic development and will have the certainty that the Government will verify the environmental and fiscal issues," said De León. Part of the project is the construction of two ports with the capacity to unload 6 vessels simultaneously and house mega vessels that cannot be served in the Panama Canal.

The corridor will change the economic paradigms of the northern provinces, from being a region purely dedicated to agriculture to one based on services, we will go from being a developing country to one that will be a path for the development of other nations," said the Prime Minister, who added that the ports will operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Due to the innovative nature of this model, other countries in the region have imitated it, however the prime minister affirmed that the advantage of Central America is the planning for more than 20 years and the collaboration of mayors and partners where the corridor will pass. With this he assured that in the middle of this year the project will be cemented.

Planning for this project began in 1999 and construction began in 2013, however, it was halted due to lack of funds and hasn't resumed ever since. It is estimated to cost is between 3 and 5 billion dollars and is expected to benefit more than 30,000 families and create more than 500,000 jobs in the province. The National Government, as well as the Inter-American Development Bank and the Central American Bank for Economic Development, has committed to turning the country into a global logistics corridor in the sense that the Central American Isthmus is the nerve center of world trade.

Government to build border fence with Haiti
The National Government announced the construction of a border fence between as way to reduce illegal migration from Haiti, a controversial project whose effectiveness raises doubts if it is not accompanied by development plans, experts warn.

Prime Minister David de León announced last week that in the second half of 2021 the construction of a fence on the 380-kilometer border with Haiti will begin. "In two years we want to end the serious problems of illegal immigration, drug trafficking and stolen vehicle traffic that we have suffered for years," said De León. The proposal includes “a double perimeter fence in the most conflictive sections and a simple one in the rest, as well as motion sensors, facial recognition cameras, radars and infrared ray systems."

Currently the Central American-Haitian border has four formal crossings which are guarded by the Armed Forces, but it also has areas vulnerable to illegal migration and smuggling. The relationship between the two countries, which share the island of Hispaniola, is historically difficult and each new Central American government establishes the delicate issue of migration as a priority. The proposal for a border wall comes after plans to regularize the undocumented, which in turn are accompanied by mass deportations. Bukele and his Haitian counterpart, Jovenel Moise, signed an agreement on January 14 that includes a commitment to take measures against the "irregular migratory flow" and "reinforce border security and surveillance" according to the official government gazette "Diario de Centroamérica".

But Juan Del Rosario, a professor at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), believes that there is no reason for this proposal to exist because, according to him, "as long as extreme poverty and political instability persist in Haiti, there will be migratory pressure. You can build a 100-meter-high wall and people will know how to get through, "explains the researcher, who cited the case of the United States, where former President Donald Trump promised to build a dividing wall with Mexico." With more resources and more technology, it was impossible, "he says.

William Charpentier, coordinator of the independent National Board of Migration and Refugees, believes that every time the idea of building a border wall appears in the world, it arouses "resentment, xenophobia and racism". Charpentier denounces massive deportations of undocumented persons and impediments to legal migrants to renew documents or rent a house: "It is a permanent persecution." "Measures like this to increase border control, ideally complemented by measures that promote regular and orderly migration," he says. "They are unnecessary expenses," insists Charpentier on the wall. "We must increase development projects" that benefit Central Americans and Haitians alike in the border area.

Brazil's 'green' central bank

Brazil has the world’s second greenest central bank, beating a variety of high income countries in environmental policies according to a Positive Money study, which ranked the central banks and financial supervisors of G20 countries based on how much they are doing to fight climate change.

Only three countries got a pass, with Brazil among one of the three.

Currently, Brazil stands out as it takes active steps to restrict financing for crop expansion in the Amazon region. It has also offered lower interest rates on loans for projects that help fight pollution, both of which are concrete steps towards promoting a 'greener' economy. A recent memo from the BRSC has pushed the central bank to pursue more additional environmentally conscious monetary policies, including the following, which are set to come into effect in May:

  • Promoting the use of digital banking technologies and online documents to cut down on paper consumption;

  • Mandate that new physical paper copies, documents, chequebooks, bank books, leaflets, and other materials must be manufactured from recycled paper products;

  • Increase in interest rates for borrowers linked to fossil fuel extraction by 0.4% on top of the current negotiated rate;

  • 25% reduction in interest rates for electric vehicle purchase loans;

  • Installation of solar-powered air conditioners across 50% of all brick-and-mortar bank branches by 2024; and

  • Extended credit lines to companies involved in solar, hydro, tidal, wind, and nuclear power research and development, construction, or production.

[Two men dressed as bellhops enter the Hilton Hotel and make their way towards the elevator]

Cyprus: "Would you stop looking so nervous, you're going to blow out cover."

Judah: "But what if something goes wrong? Something we haven't planned for?

Cyprus: "The 'King' wouldn't give the order if we weren't prepared. It'll go off without a hitch. Keep a cool head, follow my lead, and do your part."

[The men enter the elevator]

Judah: "You have the key right?"

Cyprus: [Pulls key from pocket] "Of course I have the key." [Hey puts the key into an elevator lock labeled 'Presidential Suite']

Judah: "The this is it."

[The pair arrive on the floor of the Presidential Suite]

Cyprus: "Intel indicates he'll only have three guards with him, nothing we can't handle. We dispatch them, secure the asset, get to the safe house, and evacuate to the garden. Roger that?"

Judah: "Roger that."

[The pair approach the door of the Presidential Suite, where they are approached by a SAAS Guard in a black suit

SAAS Guard: "Indique su negocio!" [State your business]

Cyprus: [Pulls a silenced Jericho 941 Pistol from his jacket, and dispatches the Guard] "Sorry my Spanish isn't great. Judah, now."

Judah: [Approaches the door, and pulls a lock picking set from he pocket] "Just like we practiced."

Cyprus: "Just like we practiced."

[The door opens, and Cyprus tosses a flash bang into the suit]

Cyprus: "Now!"

[The pair enter the room, and quickly dispatch of the remaining two agents]

Cyprus: "Now lets find the asset."

[After searching the sweet, Judah finds the asset in the bedroom]

Judah: "Cyprus, in here!"

[The old man lunges at Judah, taking him to the ground, Cyprus rushes in and pistol whips him, knocking him out cold]

Judah: "Thank you, bastard was hiding behind the door."

Cyprus: [Laughs] "Looks like the old Commie prick still has some fight in em. Come on, tie him up, I'll signal Abigail."

[Judah proceeds to tie up the old man, while Cyprus approaches the window and knocks. After a few moments, a window cleaning lift descends from the roof, and the window opens]

Abigail: "You lads took your sweet time, but it looks like you've secured the asset. Quickly lets load him up."

Cyprus: "Yes ma'am" [he laughs]

[The trio load the old man on to the lift and begin their decent, upon reaching the alley bellow, he is loaded into a black tinted van and they all climb in]

Asher "Good work you three, what did a tell you? Minimal security, minimal risk."

Cyprus: "Couldn't let us enjoy the moment without an I told you so? Could ya."

Asher "No, I really couldn't, now lets wake him."

[Asher splashes cold water over the old mans face, he very abruptly awakes]

Asher "Mr. Castro, thank you for joining us. My apologies for the, unpleasant wake up call."

Raúl Castro "WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS, WHO ARE YOU PEOPLE!" [He pauses for a moment] ..... "Undersecretary Velázquez? What, what does the President want from me? What is going on?"

Asher "Yes, that's right, to you I may appear as Undersecretary Velázquez of the Secretariat for Executive Coordination, but appearances can be deceiving. More important, in this moment, I do not represent the President. I'm Agent Asher of the Mossad and it would appear you have committed many crimes against Israel and my people."

Raúl Castro "I'm certain, I have no idea what your talking about, and the Central American Government will not tolerate these actions against its sovereignty."

Asher "I assure you Mr. Castro, you know exactly what I'm talking about, and your government, well lets say turns a blind eye to our operations on your soil." [He pulls a file from his bag] "Read it, you'll find we have financial records we've linked to you and your associates, funneling millions to Hamas and Hezbollah, which they have used to spill Israeli blood. You will be punished for your Crimes against Israel. Cyprus, I'm done speaking to this man."

[Cyprus knocks him out again. The van, speeds down the streets of Guatemala City]

'Pride flags nothing but red' in LGBT massacre | Ethiopian Truth

6/4/21

Yesterday, on the 3rd of April at approximately 9:30 PM, an illegal night club in the more quiet parts of the Kolfe Keranio district in Addis Ababa, notorious among the underground LGBT for being a safe place for them was raided by an anti LGBT religious group leading to the deaths of 6 people and 10 others being injured, sparking controversy around human rights, equality and safety in Ethiopia.

The timeline of events are difficult, especially since it is still an active investigation, however we have managed to form a coherent enough timeline to be used at the current time,

The earliest this timeline goes currently is at 9:20 PM, just 10 minutes before the massacre, a local resident and eyewitness saw, 'What appeared to be a small group of purely men in all black clothing walking together in an orderly and covert fashion, whilst a few were at most middle aged, most of them seemed to be in their very early twenties, or even younger.'

At around 9:30 PM when the perpetrators entered the night club a member of the club who was a survivor of the massacre who has remained anonymous said that she had saw,

'Several men in black uniform with various short ranged weapons, they had given no time to react as they immediately began attacking members whilst proclaiming their hatred towards us for "sinning", I made my way out by the back entrance though I saw several injured along the way.'

This is supported by a blurry video taken by another anonymous member showing brief footage of the group and their weapons, which police are using to attempt to identify some members of the group.

However by 9:55 PM, when the overwhelmed local police force arrived along with ambulance the group had already dispersed and some victims were in a critical state.

Whilst the public are shocked of the incident, religious and political figures have mixed reactions, 'His Holiness' Abune Mathias, patriach of the Ethiopian Tewahedo Orthodox church, came out with a public statement yesterday at 9:30 AM and said,

'Exactly 12 hours ago those who falsely enacted in God's following and killed multiple civilians, though we do not yet currently know the members of this tragedy, we know that God certainly knows, and those who did such unspeakable acts shall certainly taste God's objective and omnipotent judgement. Though, we must not let this distract the evils of homosexuality, and other names the devil himself holds so dearly, though these people are human, they have been misled dangerously onto a path of sinning, and we must not let such imported ideas be allowed in our holy society. Thank you for your time and may God grant his kingdom another day. '

Despite some human rights activists and critics denouncing his response to the situation, others have gone further, such as the Ethiopian Muslim imam, radio host and TV preventer Adil Zahid, often known simply by his followers as 'Mr Habibi', as at 10AM yesterday Zahid offered his radical thoughts on his popular radio station with tens of thousands of listeners,

'I must take this massacre as an opportunity for me to point out what is really happening, that homosexuality is beginning to plant its roots in your kids minds, and in Ethiopia as a whole. Sure, the massacre was terrible, but can we not see the obvious thing happening here? The Zionists are attempting to import homosexuality into our pure society. Now some of you may be skeptical and I understand, however Allah has warned us of these worshipers of the devil and their tricks, and I also have some thought provoking questions for you. Why is it that during this time Israel is pushing for gay 'rights' more than ever? Why is it that their leader, Bibi, is just the shortened name of degenerative disease I will not say in fear of summoning the devil twice? Thirdly, why is it that the night club suspiciously went under the radar for so long despite its size? I will answer this question for you, Israel had being using 5G technology to make the night club invisible to the naked eye. And finally, why was it that that 16 people either died or were injured, which is also the age of consent in Israel? I believe my case is done here.'

Prime minister Abiy Ahmed also issued a public statement saying,

'Whilst homosexuality is illegal under federal law, the massacre against Ethiopian civilians is a national disgrace and justice will be served as local and national authorities continue to try and identify members of the offending group.'

Despite a growing progressive climate in general thanks to Abiy Ahmed's reforms homosexuality and any other members of the LGBT community are not only illegal but also heavily shunned upon in society, as people actively being against the community hovers around 95% of Ethiopia, and any attempt to move for legal or social change has been met with heavy political, religious and public resistance.

The Sri Lankan Election and its Consequences
Pradish Anaya and the TNA win the election
            [sup]April 8th[/sub]

On Monday, Pradish Ananya and the Tamil National Alliance won 112 seats, or 49.8% of the Sri Lankan Parliament. The New Sri Lankan government also consists of Samagi Jana Balawegaya (who won 36 seats [16%]) and the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (1 seats [0.4%]). The opposition will be headed by the former government, Mahinda Rajapaksa and the Sri Lanka People's Freedom Alliance (68 seats [30%]), Sri Lanka Freedom Party, Our Power of People's Party (both 3 seats [1.3%]), and the National Congress (2 seats [0.9%]).

Ananya is the first Tamil Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, and is heading the first Tamil government of Sri Lanka. Despite this, and throughout her whole campaign, Ananya has insisted that 'a Tamil party in charge doesn't mean non-Tamils will be ignored.' Her win, however, has been harshly criticised by the Rajapaksas and their supporters. In particular President Gotabaya refused to swear in P. Ananya, claiming his 'brother would never loose to a terrorist.'

The Rajapaksas and some members of the Sri Lanka People's Freedom Party have declared that the election 'was stolen' and that 'Sri Lanka would never vote' for TNA or P. Ananya. Riots have also started on Colombo, Galle, and Kandy, with increased security around Sri Lankan Parliament and Temple Trees (Prime Minister's Residence).

Ananya was sworn in by Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya in Tuesday in the absence of the President, who has claimed India played a role in Ananya's election despite India actively supporting the Rajapaksas in the past. When asked about how it felt to have the President refuse to acknowlege the legitamacy of her election, she responded;

"Unfortunately, our country is divided. If you ever wanted evidence of institutionalised racism and corruption in Sri Lanka, all you have to do is look at how the President is handeling his brother's loss. I want to work with the opposition to find what's best for Sri Lanka, I want this country to advance, but how can we make serious change and better the lives of our citizens when then he can't even cope with the basics of a democracy? I would love to work along side the President, despite our ideological differences, but it does not look like that is going to happen."

P. Ananya is set to move into the Prime Minister's residence tomorrow, although there are fears that Mahinda Rajapaksa will refuse to leave. 'I am the Prime Minister, not her,' he told Lake House Media this morning. Tensions are only set to rise, with political experts saying that there is 'a very real chance of violence worse than what we've seen already.' Security has increased throughout the capital, with an insider from the Sri Lankan Military claiming that 'our allegiance is unclear [and] the men don't know who to listen to.'

The media has also taken a turn, with Sri Lankan State Media turning sharply in favour of the Rajapaksas while parent company Lake House Media has maintained true to it's government-favouring to neutral stance. Lake House Media has recognised P. Ananya as the legitamate Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, along with most other neutral and Tamil-favouring news stations. Confusion within law enforcement and the military have caused many to fear for Sri Lanka's future if the Rajapaksa's refuse to acknowlege defeat. Currently only the Prime Minister's Security Division and both Jaffna and Trincomalee divisions of the Sri Lankan Army have formerly recognised P. Ananya and the Tamil National Alliance as the Sri Lankan Prime Minister and Government, going against orders of the President.
