Iceagea is very scientifically advanced, having had several millenia to develop its technology before other nations which remain isolated until the period of discovery.
Iceagea controls essentially both poles in its universe, with neanderthal populations occupying Greenland, Iceagea and Antarctica and most recently Mars. Iceagea has as a result the largest EEZ for resource acquisition and various futuristic weaponry systems that could neutralise the worst threats.
There has been no significant wars due to the period of isolation from other countries, however there continues a political struggle for control over historical Neanderthal homelands that are still occupied by homo sapiens which Iceagea prefers to annex via political means rather than invasions.

Although, Vurk helds, using terrain advantage. Communists of Vurk during that era, suprisingly supports Vurkian government or just didn't support USSR, because Vurk has been not recognised as a nation. Thus, they refuse caving USSR and bogging down Red Army. Vuekinia district loses few territories but eventually gains (or secures is more correct) independence.
Then there is civilwar, took long years and gave oppurtunity to Russian and Georgian forces to grab more land. Suprisingly, end of the civilwar marked by start of joint invasion of Russia and Georgia. This conflict just changed Vurk forever. Many Vurkians imigrated to remaining Vurkian territories, creating a massive overpopulation problem. However majority of Vurks left behind the border, there are actually more Vurkians kiving in Georgia and Russia, than Vurk.
Vurkian Armed Forces was always a small force and behind the tech, but a force who utilised terrain to its advantage perfectly. Though, there are modern theoretical education and good officer corps, lack of manpower, guns and money really limits VAF. Though this will soon change...
