They are still hoping that our Governor will allow a traditional graduation at the school stadium later this summer. I'm afraid some students will have moved on to work or college by then, so probably won't be complete, if it happens. I think I'm more upset than my daughter. As an older parent, I waited nearly 60 years to see my child graduate, and I was denied that once-in-a-lifetime experience. I myself never had a graduation ceremony for High School, as I graduated a semester early. I called myself the 'Class of '79 and a half', and was the first to ever graduate early from that school district. I had to go before the School Board to get their permission.

I was also Editor of the school newspaper and the last article I wrote was the front page of the December '79 issue about the Iran Hostage Crisis. Again, I had to get school board permission to publish it, as the considered it a controversial subject. The article basically covered Iranian history, pre-Shah, Shah, and Islamic Revolution.

Westwind has always pushed the boundaries of the establishment, heh.

I would love to read something written by a young Westwind!

It's not that urgent if you'll need your WA for something else. I'm just going to need at least 2 whenever I go to submit my draft to the GA.

Okay, here's a song I wrote on guitar in 1978. I was 16. (I was also a radio DJ at 15....'KQDI, more music radio! Caller number 10 will be the winner of the Great American Album Giveway, call now! And remember, you can Tune a Piano, but you can't Tuna Fish. Here's REO Speedwagon..."

"Good-bye My Love" - Westwind

I remember the time, when the snow fell down, gently falling upon your hair.
I'll remember that time thru eternity, I'll never forget your face.
But the Summer has come, and we must part, must say our 'Good-byes'.
I'm sorry my Love, but we both knew that this time would come.

Good-bye my love, Our time has come.
I must be travelin', on once more.
Good-bye my love, Our time has come.
I must be travelin'....Again.

I know you're hurt, but I must go, just remember the time that we both shared.
I'm still searching, for the way to truth, I can't stop looking yet.
But someday I'll find, the key to life, and a way to survive.
I've got to move on, my mind is restless, now I ... must go.

Good-bye my love, Our time has come.
I must be travelin', on once more.
Good-bye my love, Our time has come.
I must be travelin'....Again.

My love don't cry, I can't stand to see, the tears flowing down your cheeks.
'Cause ya know that, I'll cry too, the sorrow will break me down.
And when I'm gone, and I am alone, may I still remember you.
And the times we shared, will be cherished memories, forerer, in my heart.

Good-bye my love, Our time has come.
I must be travelin', on once more.
Good-bye my love, Our time has come.
I must be travelin'....Again.

In '78, on a cross-country trip from Missouri to California, I was playing my guitar poolside at a motel in Las Vegas. 117F degrees, phew! My '69 Cutlass had been overheating in the desert. Somehow I managed to draw a crowd with folks calling out songs they wanted to hear. I've had similar experiences through the years. I sat down to play a piano in the lobby of a Hotel in Kansas....and drew a crowd. Some got irate when I didn't play what they wanted. "What are they paying you for if you wan't play what we want?!?!" Um, I'm a guest here, not the entertainment. No apology, they just walk away, head hung low. I drew a crowd at a Bible camp in '76, playing out of the back of my friend's van.

(At 14 years old, I was an intern at the National Weather Service. They used punched tape to send forcasts out. They began with a code "ZCZC" and ended with a code "NNNN" for the machines on the other end to receive the punched tape transmission.)

Been down that road before.

*chuckles* I've never been fond of the NS forums. At least they don't take 20 minutes to load a post like they did in '04.

Hi hungry now, I'm your friendly ambassador! :P

Unfortunately, Eurovision 2020 was cancelled. Fortunately, that doesn’t mean we have to wait a year for some lovely songs. Enter Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga. Helmed by the comedian Will Ferrell and the always brilliant Rachel McAdams, this film not only gave a touch of silliness, but several excellent (mostly fictional) songs to assuage the agony of going an entire year without ruthlessly tearing down other nations (“Arcade” should never have won) have been granted to us. The only question now is this: which song reigns supreme?

Our nation is unfairly ranked amongst 1 percent of the world for most primitive for what we see as merely preserving our way of life, and benefits of which can be seen in areas such as are wonderful environment which benefits both are tourism and agriculture industry. While are leader and his ministers still refuse to budge on that front we are taking steps to improve are global reputation such as joining the World Assembly and focusing on foreign aid and more domestic welfare.
