Anyway, very nice posts Andrew and Orson (you too, Novo)! Your RP has come a long way even though it hasn't been around that long, and there isn't a time where I don't enjoy reading what you all put out for us here on the rmb.

Ooof...I am sorry to hear that man. I know the pains of having your internet suddenly cutting out and needing to use your data/Hotspot to do anything...same thing happened when my internet provider decided to add ghost charges and when we refused to pay, than cut us off for weeks...might sound stupid, but have trying disconnecting it and reconnecting the modem to see if that works?

And thanks man! It definitely has come along way, and I have Orson and Novo to thank for it! If it weren't for both their brilliant ideas and remarkable RP skills, this wouldn't have gotten as far as it has!

And not sure if you saw, but incredible work with what you've done with both the Olympics and your factbooks so far Fel! Both have always been so interesting to read and always love the great detail you put into them! I do hope your wifi situation gets sorted out soon, so that you can properly get back into making more of them!

Yeah, but it didn't work for whatever reason. One of my other brothers tried fixing it to the best of his ability, but to no avail. He began looking up potential ways to fix it, but he decided that it was too much work for the time being (as it just recently passed 12:00 AM over here) and went to sleep stating that it would be best to wait for the morning and see what happens then.

Thanks for liking my recent works, Andrew! Even though I'm not really good at RPs, I make up for it by putting my heart and soul into these little pieces of world-building. I also hope my wifi situation gets sorted out, but I should be somewhat fine with my hotspot for the time being; the last time I had to use my hotspot for long periods of time was when my family visited Florida for the Easter holiday a few years back, and my data got used up before the week was spent since one of my brothers wanted to be connected to it as well.

Damn Fel, that does not sound good. I really hope you are able to get that fixed. I know being without internet is a nightmare since you need it to do basically everything nowadays.

Man, like Orson said, it really does suck, since we all pretty much rely on it nowadays. The best thing I can suggest is trying to contact your internet provider tomorrow and seeing if they can help detect the problem or help troubleshoot it for you. This is ridiculous man, I really do hope it's fixed soon man.

You certainly do man! And I am impressed every time I see you posting your works. I can always see the great effort you put into it all. And I gotcha man. It is never nice to need to rely on your Hotspot or data for too long. I'm lucky, cause the phone plan I'm signed up for gives me unlimited data, so if go anywhere, I'm covered. You and your brothers live alone or you stay with your parents? Just checking to see if you got a lot of people relying on your Hotspot or if it'll just be you?

Thanks, Orson. Although there's nothing terribly bad going on right now, hopefully things can be sorted out tomorrow.

All of my brothers (except for the oldest) and I live with our mom. Data shouldn't be an issue since nearly all of us have our own phones with their own data to use, and the next phone payments are coming up soon (the 19th), so it'll definitely be good for us then. Over the course of the past month, I've used up only 5 out of 50GB - so I am definitely in the clear when it comes down to relying on my hotspot for wifi.

Ah OK, so then by the sounds of it, like you said, should be completely fine. Really no need to worry, since you have your hotspot active and you've barely touched into it, so hopefully the matter is resolved sooner rather than later though. When my former provider cut us off and tried pulling some underhanded stuff, it really set us back...but luckily we got our situation resolved.

Well, my internet is back in working order. Also, it's interesting to see NS add new scales to the World Census rankings.

Agent Garm pressed on with the Princess, desperately attempting to escape or at least hide, but to no avail. She made it about 100 meters away before being forced to slow down. Her legs gave out, and the last of the energy she possessed from the rage state withered away. Garm dropped the unconscious Amira on the grass and fell to her knees. Garm looked around, scanning the area: the "forest" was now an empty field, the fight between the Inquisitors and the Sultan being so intense that hundreds of trees were felled and the ground was completely scoured. The DGSI agents continued grow ever closer while helicopters buzzed overhead.

Coming down from the meth-driven insanity was extremely difficult, but Garm's training allowed her to maintain at least some clarity. The Inquisitor looked down at her clothing and armor, torn to bits by the extreme combat, and she was practically half-naked. As Garm kneeled there in the grass, she came to the final realization that the mission had failed. Fireteam 10 was finished- Forren and Halar were dead, while Gen was in Wagain custody. She could only reminisce at the events that led to this moment. That operation in Kinshasa three years ago had started it all...Garm remembered detaining Annie Riqueti, the Wagain journalist who was aiding the Federalists in secret. If only Garm could have gotten her revenge and strangled that bitch to death...alas, it was far too late for such notions now. She was still taken aback by the situation, however; Riqueti's arrest set off a chain of events that led to the Inquisition being destroyed, the deaths of countless comrades, her alienation from Orson and her exile to enemy country.

At the last minute, Garm caught the Sultan approaching quickly out the corner of her eye- the bastard was still alive and kicking, but was heavily wounded and delirious. He threw a powerful left hook that crashed right into Garm's jaw. She yelled out in pain and collapsed on the ground while rolling over. Her vision became completely blurry for a few seconds as she remarked at the sharp agony- Andres's Cybusian enhancements truly made him a beast not to be trifled with. Nevertheless, Garm was not completely incapable herself- while falling down, she grabbed her pistol, gritted her teeth and lunged forward. Garm pistol-whipped Andres right in his left eye and then fired a shot into his right thigh. The round was an explosive bullet, and its secondary detonation was powerful enough to shatter Andres's femur bone and shred the surrounding tissues, nearly severing the leg itself in two.

With the Sultan taken down again, Garm crouched down over Amira, panting heavily.

"You've...ruined everything," she said, her voice resembling a rattling wheeze due to exhaustion. "She was supposed to be smuggled to Orson...we would be welcomed as heroes. Our honor would be restored!"

Garm breathed in deeply as she grabbed Amira by her neck, lifting the Princess off the ground.

"If I can't have her...no one can." She then aimed the pistol right at Amira's temple, about the pull the trigger...

As he closed in on the final showdown between Andres and the final inquisitor, Captain Marte saw his comrade was at breaking point. Beaten to the point of being barely recognizable, the Sultan had now collapsed onto the ground, encased within the last flickering remnants of his exoskeleton. The bloodied inquisitor now limped toward Amira, pistol in hand, seeing her mission through to its merciless end. As the agent raised her weapon, Marte knew he had no choice but to act. Without breaking his sprint, the veteran soldier swung his rifle around and trained his sights on the inquisitor, firing a volley of plasma bolts in quick succession. Exhausting his magazine within seconds, Marte hugged the rifle to his chest and barreled into to the Orsonian, knocking her to the ground before the fateful shot could be fired. Just tens of meters away, DGSI units were now bearing down on the last surviving agent, leaving her nowhere to escape. The whipping roar of the helicopter had enveloped the entire forest, its imposing steel now blotting out the sun itself. Marte reached for the facón strapped to his waist, determined to drive it into his adversary and bring this bitter fight to an end.

2021 Summer Olympics: Day Six Competition Report

Daily Champion: Mamaran Empire (3 gold, 6 silver, 3 bronze)

As the Kaohsiung Olympics move into their sixth day, competition could not be tighter between the great sporting nations. The melee for first place remains locked between the Mamarans and Timmians, who met this morning at the Aquatics center to contest the four remaining medley events. Though the top accolades went to the Timmian side, Orson's Sayani Ghosh became the first Olympian to medal twice in these games, clinching the bronze in both the 200m and 400m events. Her teammate Kotuku Ngawati made history by becoming the first member of the aboriginal Busher community to medal in swimming. Wagondia's Joanna Maranhão, on the tail end of her illustrious career, pulled ahead in the distance events and brought a needed gold to the toucans.

The Cybusians continued to defend their success in Canoeing, nearly pulling off a poodium sweep thanks to the swift paddling of Jiri Prskavec and Sebastian Schubert. They also performed well in Fencing, though top honors went to a Lucijan team still basking in the afterglow of yesterday's success. The Mamarans and Lucijans continued to battle it out for supremacy in Judo, though Germany's Anna Maria Wagner managed to break through to victory in the women's event. Beside the draping cherry blossoms of Wushantou Reservoir, the Orsonians continued to excel in the Rowing events, displaying the discipline and teamwork so often associated with their nation.

Back in Kaohsiung proper, the masterful shotgun of Kathrin Murche brought the Cybusian team its first gold in the hotly-contested Shooting program, suspending for a moment the tight command of the Orsonian and West African sides. Later in the evening, crowds packed into the city's exhibition center for the singles competition in Table Tennis. High expectations of the home team proved well placed, with only the deft hand of Sweden's Matthias Falck preventing back-to-back Formosan victories. Despite a lackluster performance at the exhibition center, the Mamaran team made some ground in Taekwondo, trading golds with arch-rival Santa Lucija and barely pulling away with the daily champion title. The days's final event was men's Polo, an ancient sport brought back to the Olympics after nearly a century's hiatus. Led by a powerful Argentine offense, the Wagain team hammered through to victory, evading a determined Timmian challenge in the gentle shadow of Gushan Mountain.

As he closed in on the final showdown between Andres and the final inquisitor, Captain Marte saw his comrade was at breaking point.

Just as Garm was about to finish the job, she was once again interrupted. She saw Captain Marte, having survived being knocked away at the mineshaft before, aim his plasma rifle while sprinting to desperately save both the Sultan and Amira. Marte had made the history books today by defying all odds and killing Halar with a single shot. His actions would be studied for decades by police departments across Wagondia and the military, but it did not change the cold reality of what the Captain was up against. Orsonians were bred for combat, molded by it- their senses perfectly attuned to it, and their minds carefully sculpted for this sole purposes. Even inhibited Orsonians remained a forced to be reckoned with, and the Inquisitors were among the best. They were the black-clad, iron-fisted enforcers of Turner's regime and dreaded by even the most hardened of criminals, and Marte would discover this soon enough.

The Captain fired an entire magazine's worth of plasma bolts. Garm bolted away from Amira at the last moment and several of the shots missed, the rest either grazing or impacting Garm across her back, legs, and left arm. She cried out in agony as the few bolts that directly hit burned straight through her flesh, cauterizing the wound from the extreme heat but also causing massive internal bleeding and organ damage. Marte then crashed right into her and knocked Garm to the ground.

Summoning her remaining inhuman strength, Garm moved swiftly as Marte reached for his knife. She grabbed his arm and ripped it forward, pulling it out of the socket and nearly tearing it off. She then took her right hand and plunged it into Marte's chest, and in one swift maneuver tore his heart right out of his body. The last thing the Captain saw was his still-beating organ right in the ground before Garm kicked him over, his ribcage now fully exposed to the environment.

After this last act, Garm collapsed to the ground, coughing up blood and shaking uncontrollably from her own mortal wounds. The Inquisitor knew she was finished, but refused to give up even as a helicopter circled right overhead. She could not see, but crawled slightly and tried to find her gun.

(OOC: Warning! Post is rather long and pretty graphic at the end, so you've been warned lol)

Andrés's punch connected sharply, as he staggered forward a bit from the force he threw into it, but was immediately caught off guard when Agent Garm's pistol, whipped straight into his left eye, causing it to bust a bit as blood leaked out from his newly gained wound as he staggered back from the disorienting strike. Before he could even recoil from the Orsonian strength enhanced pistol whip, a loud shot rang out across the field, as he felt the balance from his right leg suddenly fail as he collapsed to the ground. Reeling from shock, Andrés inspected his leg...only to see it nearly split into two, as blood, bone and tissue splattered around him, coating the grass below him as his eyes widened and he gripped his now nearly missing leg as he screamed in pure agony.

"GAAAAAHHHHH!!! F*CK!! AHHH!! AGH!!" The Sultan wailed out as he clung to his leg in desperation as his split femur bone stuck out of his flesh and he rolled around the ground in agony...but soon he opened his good eye, seeing Amira being held at gun point...his eye widened as his mouth opened in shock, but no words escaping as he reached a hand out, attempting to no avail to reach out to his daughter....

Just as his daughter was about to be executed, Captain Marte suddenly appeared and made the miraculous last minute save, emptying an entire mag of plasma into Garm as she hissed in pain and dropped Amira, but was soon taken to the ground by Marte's tackle....Andrés could only watch in a raw mix of emotions as he watched the two wrestle for dominance...only for Garm with her inhumane Orsonian strength to prove too much for the Wagain Captain, as she brutally executed Captain Marte via ripping open his rib cage and forcibly pulling out his still beating heart, effectively ending the warrior's life....

Upon seeing this...every raw emotion in the Sultan's adrenaline and fury filled mind began to race as his hand gripped his femur bone tightly and his veins began emitting a stronger purplish hue...as he watched the last Inquisitor drop to the ground in pain and exhaustion..desperately attempting to crawl for her gun....this is where it'll end...

End of the line....

As Agent Garm began to desperately crawl for the pistol that had practically blown off Andrés's leg, her hand would be mere centimeters from it, when suddenly and without warning, a object came and forcibly impaled her hand deep into the earth below. Upon further inspection of the object, it appeared to be white in color with blood dripping from it...the object was none other than Bone...Andrés's broken femur bone to be exact.

After Andrés snapped and removed what was left of his femur and used it to stab Garm's hand into the ground, his purplish glowing animalistic eyes locked firmly with Garm's as time itself stood still...the ever death defying Sultan, with one last gasp of energy, fueled by pure seething rage, immediately removed his hand from the improvised bone blade, as both of his hands quickly shot forward and tightly grasped Garm's head.

Upon grasping the Inquisitor's head, Andrés immediately picked it up and slammed it into the ground...and then he did it again..and again...and once again, causing blood and broken teeth to paint the grass below. Without wasting a movement, Sultan Andrés continued to grasp her head and forcibly spun Garm onto her back, where he threw his remaining leg over her and straddled her body, his hands purplish glowing hands continuing to grip her head.

"THIS IS FOR THE JANISSARY!!" He shouted in Orsonian dialect, slamming his fist into her face, causing blood to splatter. "THIS IS FOR MARTE!!" He shouted as he slammed his fist back into her breaking face. "THIS IS FOR MY EMPIRE!!!" He shouted slamming the back of her head into the ground, causing her to involuntary spit out blood as his hands gripped her head tighter, pure rage funneling through him and making her near dead eyes stare into his own. "AND THIS...is for....Amira..." He whispered harshly through his bloody gritted teeth as his thumbs suddenly jabbed straight into Agent Garm's eyes and his hands continue to squeeze on her head as his veins continued to glow brighter and brighter as he continued to put more pressure, causing blood and other fluids to forcibly leak from every hole on Agent Garm's head....until finally...

CRACK.....POP!

....Agent Garm's entire head suddenly bursted like a balloon from the immense pressure....causing blood and brain matter to shoot all over, from the grass and even onto Sultan Andrés's arms and face....Andrés panted loudly as his he slowly removed his blood soaked hands as they shook uncontrollably from the amount of pressure and raw emotion that he delivered.

As he slowly fell to the side, next to Agent Garm's body as he stared up into the blue Wagain sky as the sun shined down onto him...Andrés breathed harshly and his body shook...his hearing soon began to return to him, as the sound of helicopters and DGSI foot soldiers were approaching the scene...but he didn't care...it was over...it was done...they finally won...and Amira...his baby dove was save.

Andrés painfully and slowly moved his head to see Amira's unconscious body several meters from his own, as he slowly raised his hand to touch her, but she was too far. And within moments of reaching for her, his arm suddenly went limp and dropped to the ground as exhaustion and blood loss finally caught up to him and his vision slowly began to fade and his breathing began to slow...with the last thing he saw, being his daughter, Amira...laying safely in the Wagain sun before all went dark....

Incredible work once again Novo! Every nation is certainly showing no mercy when it comes to these competitions! I'm happy to be holding the most gold, but it seems that Timmy overall is leading the pack with the most medals by far! But it's still far too early to call who will leave out as the ultimate champion!

It's still anyone's game at this point! Keep up the great work! :)

Wow. Great work on that last post Andrew! Stabbing an Orsonian with his own femur and then smashing their head open is indeed graphic, but an awesome visual and an excellent demonstration of how devoted a father Andres is.
That being said, I think Andres needs to be airlifted to a hospital as soon as is humanly possible (preferably while contacting Torchwood on the way so they can review the combat data and prepare for any furthur upgrades Andres needs...and, you know, help put him back together after this battle, because the various modifications are probably going to confuse Wagain doctors).

I agree with Cybus, that was truly a marvelous post, Andrew! Andrés using his own femur as a weapon is a pretty creative and unique (albeit graphic) decision.

Thank you both so very much for the feedback! And yes, the femur and head crushing scenes were very dramatic and graphic, but overall I think it played perfectly into the overall atmosphere of the posts!

And I'm glad you said that Cybus; I really wanted to paint Andrés has quite literally being willing to do just about anything to protect Amira, and mixed with the adrenaline, fury and overall desperation, I think it called for a over the top response of his own. I mean Garm blew off his leg AND ripped out Martes heart...so kind of a ironic twist in all that.
And you said it...Andrés really going to need to be airlifted and transported to a medical facility (preferably with Cybusian and Wagain medical staff...) to help tend to his wounds...because he is pretty much on deaths door at this moment and is gonna need all the help he can get...

Excellent work on that reply, Andrew! I did not expect Andres to use his own femur bone as a weapon...he truly wasn't playing around anymore.

Since my day is going by relatively slowly, I've decided to post these two paragraphs from my upcoming dispatch (edit: forgot that it's technically not going to be listed as a factbook) on the CAS:

The Covert Action Staff (CAS) is a private military-grade security organization owned by the Carrington Institute, a subsidiary of Carrington Industries. The organization was established in 2017 by company founder Daniel Carrington and former US Army Ranger Jonathan Steinberg in response to the rise in corporate espionage across the Formosan Republic. Carrington first became concerned with the need of an Institute-based security force in 2012, when an industrial spy broke into the restricted sections of the Carrington Institute's headquarters after assuming the identity of a journalist sent to interview the company's staff for an article that would appear in a local news magazine that would be released later that week. Although the suspect was apprehended and brought in for questioning, the security forces hired by the Institute foolishly left the man unattended for a short period of time, allowing him the chance needed to take a concealed cyanide pill to prevent any critical information from being leaked. Carrington, furious that this was allowed to happen, fired the security team and began implementing a series of policies to prevent such an event from occurring again, some of which would eventually lead to the creation of the CAS.

The Air Wing was created to transport Institute materiel and operatives across the Republic and the globe, with new pilots often being trained by those with experience within their ranks, and initially relied on government-supplied aircraft until the creation of the Institute's own C-21 Starling in 2019; Calvin Rogers serves as the Motor Pool Supervisor and top dropship pilot of the CAS, and is often found lurking about in the Institute's hangar ensuring that each aircraft is prepared for upcoming missions. The Covert Operations Division is the Institute's own force that partakes in the world of corporate espionage and beyond, deploying agents across Taiwan and the globe to ensure the safety of the Institute's interests; Agent Joanna Dark serves as the top agent of the CAS and the leader of the COD, but has rarely taken on important missions for the Institute in recent years. The Military Operations Division is the private army of the Carrington Institute and its operatives are generally more heavily armed than their counterparts in the COD and SOD, focusing heavily on their military training to prepare their forces for potential threats; Agent Jonathan Steinberg serves as not only the Head of the CAS, but also the leader of the MOD and has occasionally taken on missions for the COD. The Security Operations Division is the standard security forces of the Institute, patrolling and protecting Carrington-owned facilities and locations which they have been assigned to, operating in a similar role to law enforcement; Miranda Sturgis was the Chief of Security until January 2021, when it was discovered that she was unwillingly operating as a mole for Institute rival Core-Mantis OmniGlobal and committed suicide to prevent her capture.

Ah, quite interesting! Does the covert operations group operate globally in competition or in conjunction with intelligence agencies, or is it limited to the intercorporate warfare with Datadyne?

Thanks Orson, I really appreciate it! And yeah, I thought that femur scene would be rather...unique, and I can see it certainly was. And oh yes, Andrés certainly was not playing around...

Very fascinating and great work Fel! And Cybus's question is actually a similar one I had; Do the covert groups work with global intelligence agencies or are they strictly working alongside with Datadyne?

Very nice work yet again Fel! CAS is turning out to be some very interesting stuff. I love seeing all this!

I'm glad you guys enjoy it! Right now I'm still working on the history of the organization as I'm putting a bit more detail into events of 2020-2023, so I hope the wait will be worth it in the end.

To answer your questions: It was initially intended to combat the efforts of other Formosan corporations that threatened the Institute's interests both domestically and globally (such as dataDyne), but as time passed it would serve alongside the intelligence agencies of the Formosan Republic due to their growing relations (particularly in 2023) - either way, it would have operatives deployed across the globe in case its interests were threatened (I'm placing an estimate at around 15,000 Agents across the globe, primarily in Taiwan, but I can't really say anything more specific than that as it is meant to be an approximate value for the two combined). As the CAS Intelligence Team would arguably be the most advanced of its kind within the nation, there is no doubt in my mind that it would offer its services to the intelligence agencies of Formosa's allies around that time period; to be honest, I feel as if the CAS would try to avoid helping the Orsonians, especially as the Third World War takes place, as Carrington himself would not want to garner any backlash from the international community for doing so (basically serving as the opposite of Zhang Li and dataDyne).

Great work on this Fel! Always good to see some additional lore added to your corporations. Has the CAS had any engagements with the Omega Faction?

Also, it's probably a good thing that Carrington never got involved with the Orsonians. dataDyne helped create Orson's mass surveillance system and built the Monolith quantum computer, and if it was ever leaked that Zhang Li made these secret deals with Turner, they would be in hot water.

Carrington is right to want to avoid backlash from the international community, as the CAS would be easily seen by the allies as a Mercenary organization in the employ of the enemy if they helped the Orsonians. I mean. It's be hard to classify them as anything else in such a situation considering they have a private army.
