PLD AEROSPACE ORBITAL LAUNCH ATTEMPT FAILS, BUT DETERMINATION AND RESOLVE FORGES ONWARD

    | MADRID - A young woman in her late thirties with long black hair and surrounded by security agents in suits with their guns hidden looks skyward before pulling a pair of binoculars up to her eyes. Instituto Nacional de Aeronautica (INDA) director Pedro Duque, a retired ESA astronaut who also previously served as the Minister of Science and Technology for the Spanish Government, approaches Former Prime Minister Augustina Torres, who squints through the binoculars. Duque adjusts the binoculars to face the rocket screaming skyward before looking up himself and smiling. Torres, although not holding any political office at the moment, was representing Prime Minister Cayetana Alvarez de Toledo at PLD Aerospace's first orbital launch attempt. The Prime Minister was unable to attend as she, Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares, and Her Royal Majesty Queen Leonor were attending a conference in Casablanca with the Maghrebis, and Deputy Prime Minister Sanchez - who for the past few weeks had been receiving calls for his resignation - was surrounded by too much controversy to attend such a historical spaceflight event. The rocket continues spaceward as the engineers and technicians in Mission Control stare intently at their consoles. At T+ 3:35:41, the Propulsion Officer (PROP) reports a red mark, which signifies that something has gone wrong on the vehicle. The mission director ran to the PROP's desk and ordered the Flight Ordinance Officer (FOO) to abort the mission using the range safety detonation, but as the FOO made his way to his computer the screens went dark. A collective gasp erupted from the gathered crowd, mainly PLD Aerospace employees, government officials, and Spaniards from the nearby city of Cadiz. As the PROP and the mission director rushed outside the control building, they ran into Augustina Torres who informed them of what had happened. "It exploded, Jose." said Torres, out of breath, before getting escorted by her officers away from the launchpad and into her government vehicle. Local police officers were also rushing around, ordering the civilians to evacuate as soon as possible to reduce the risk of fatalities due to falling debris. Sure enough, as the two controllers looked up, a faint grey blob of smoke could be seen hovering in the air, with small streaks of smoke falling downwards, towards the ocean. Days after, INDA announced that the cause of the mission accident was a combustion failure in the rocket's first stage. Although the mission had failed, a group of PLD Aerospace and INDA engineers made a joint statement on social media outlet Twitter stating, 'The flight to the cosmos is dangerous and hard. The road to space is a rough one, but we will persevere and fight to succeed!'. Although the mission had failed, and a second attempt was at least three months away, determination and resolve has forged onward, leading Spain along the path to the cosmos. |

QUEBEC NATIONAL ELECTIONS - FRANCOIS LEGAULT'S CAQ MAINTAINS A SOLID MAJORITY

| Republic of Quebec (République du Québec) - Currently the CAQ has 79 seats in the Quebec national legislature, maintaining its position as the dominant party of Québécois independence and nationalism. However, there has been considerable amounts of support rising among left leaning parties, particularly the Québec Solidaire and Parti Québécois with 20 and 12 seats respectfully and 14 for the Québec Liberals. While the CAQ, the mainstream centre right movement continues to dominate the National Assembly, the amount of support for more extreme left-wing movements as seen by the large jump in support for the Québec Solidaire continues to rise. The CAQ's platform remained largely unchanged, campaigning on their prior success of revitalizing the Québécois economy to levels above the initial exit from Canada in 1995, as well as from the blunders of the Québec Liberals. The CAQ emphasized the economy and nationalism, promoting their tariffs on imported goods to ensure Québec native companies remain competitive. While the issue of global warming and the environment came up, it was more so a secondary issue, one in which Francois Legault, the incumbent prime minister, addressed through the expansion of Thorium Nuclear power and a slight increase in renewables, mainly Hydroelectric and Wind. However, the Québec Solidaire leader, Gaétan Châteauneuf, emphasized a different set of issues, particularly those of the working poor and minority groups, citing the increasing amount of wealth disparity between rich and poor, as well as the increased amount of anti-immigrant and anti-LGBTQ sentiment. The other members of left-leaning parties also brought up these issues, however, Châteauneuf did so the most effectively, with many younger women, particularly older Generation Z and younger Millennials, coming out in full force for Châteauneuf. Gaétan Châteauneuf made sure to highlight his party's new stance on protectionism, believing that globalism in any manner is not needed for the nation of Québec, a large reversal for his own party and the main message of the left leaning parties. Regardless, Legault still maintains a strong grip over the populace on many social issues, as many view immigrants, particularly uneducated ones as a threat to not only job security but national security and their culture. Similarly, the "woke" movement emphasized by the left throughout the western world has become increasingly despised by the general public, with many pointing out the hypocrisy and sometimes blatant anti-white racism. As a result, a very controversial issue has resurfaced, a universal Burka Ban proposed even before the start of the decade has come up again and this time with a large amount of support. Legault has said that he believes that all people have a right to their own religion in private, but in public must act and dress in a secular manner. Legault plans to update Bill 21 and increase its power to include a ban on religious clothing in any public space, as well as introducing a system based on the covid19 passports for a registry for certain individuals. Many have of Legault's opponents and even some of his supporters believe this to be extreme, but the majority of the public still view this as a necessary evil. Stayed tuned as more of this bill will be discussed for its possible passage in November 2026. |

DURGA PUJA TO DRAW MILLIONS IN ANNUAL FESTIVAL!!?

It's a wonderful evening here in Mumbai, where millions here and across India and around the Indian Subcontinent as we get multiple drone footage from above by many of the participants of this annual festival known as Durga Puja. Also known as Durgotsava, or Sharodotsava (Hindi: [d̪ʊɾɡoːt̪səʋə]), is an annual Hindu festival originating in the Indian subcontinent which reveres and pays homage to the Hindu goddess, Durga. It is particularly popular and traditionally celebrated in the Indian states of West Bengal, Assam, Odisha, Tripura, the country of Bangladesh, the diaspora from this region, and in the Mithilanchal regions of Bihar and Nepal. The festival is observed in the Indian calendar month of Ashwin, which corresponds to the months of September–October in the Gregorian calendar, and is a ten-day festival, of which the last five are of significance. The puja is performed in homes and in the public, the latter featuring a temporary stage and structural decorations (known as pandals). The festival is also marked by scripture recitations, performance arts, revelry, gift giving, family visits, feasting, and public processions. Durga puja is an important festival in the Shaktism tradition of Hinduism.

As per Hindu scriptures, the festival marks the victory of goddess Durga in her battle against the shape-shifting asura, Mahishasura. Thus, the festival epitomizes the victory of good over evil, though it is also in part a harvest festival celebrating the goddess as the motherly power behind all of life and creation. Durga puja coincides with Navaratri and Dussehra celebrations observed by other traditions of Hinduism, in which the Ram lila dance-drama is enacted, celebrating the victory of Rama against Ravana, and effigies of Ravana are burnt.

The primary goddess revered during Durga puja is Durga but celebrations also include other major deities of Hinduism such as Lakshmi (the goddess of wealth and prosperity), Saraswati (the goddess of knowledge and music), Ganesha (the god of good beginnings), and Kartikeya (the god of war). In Bengali and Odia traditions, these deities are considered to be Durga's children and Durga puja is believed to commemorate Durga's visit to her natal home with her beloved children. The festival is preceded by Mahalaya, which is believed to mark the start of Durga's journey to her natal home. Primary celebrations begin on the sixth day (Shasthi), on which the goddess is welcome with rituals. The festival ends on the tenth day (Vijaya dashami), when devotees embark on a procession carrying the worshipped clay sculpture-idols to a river, or other water body, and immerse them, symbolic of her return to the divine cosmos and her marital home with Shiva in Kailash. Regional and community variations in celebration of the festival and rituals observed exist.

Over the years, Durga puja has become an inseparable part of Indian culture with innumerable people celebrating this festival in their own unique way while pertaining to tradition.

      https://www.travelbeginsat40.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Durga-Puja-Festival-India1.jpg

Durga puja is a ten-day event, of which the last five days involve certain rituals and practices. The festival begins with Mahalaya, a day on which Hindus perform tarpaṇa by offering water and food to their dead ancestors. The day also marks the advent of Durga from her mythological marital home in Kailash. The next significant day of the festival is the sixth day (Sashthi), on which devotees welcomes the goddess and festive celebrations are inaugurated. On the seventh day (Saptami), eighth (Ashtami) and ninth (Navami) days, the goddess along with Lakshmi, Saraswati, Ganesha, and Kartikeya are revered and these days mark the main days of worship with recitation of scriptures, puja, legends of Durga in Devi Mahatmya, social visits to elaborately decorated and illuminated pandals (temporary structures meant for hosting the puja), among others.

Durga puja is, in part, a post-monsoon harvest festival observed on the same days in the Shaktism tradition of Hinduism as those in its other traditions. The practice of including a bundle of nine different plants, called navapatrika, as a symbolism of Durga, is a testament practice to its agricultural importance. The typically selected plants include not only representative important crops, but also non-crops. This probably signifies the Hindu belief that the goddess is "not merely the power inherent in the growth of crops but the power inherent in all vegetation". The festival is a social and public event in the eastern and northeastern states of India, where it dominates religious and socio-cultural life, with temporary pandals built at community squares, roadside shrines, and temples. The festival is also observed by some Shakta Hindus as a private home-based festival. The festival starts at twilight with prayers to Saraswati. She is believed to be another aspect of goddess Durga, and who is the external and internal activity of all existence, in everything and everywhere. This is typically also the day on which the eyes of the deities on the representative clay sculpture-idols are painted, bringing them to a lifelike appearance. The day also marks prayers to Ganesha and visit to pandals temples. Day two to five mark the remembrance of the goddess and her manifestations, such as Kumari (goddess of fertility), Mai (mother), Ajima (grandmother), Lakshmi (goddess of wealth) and in some regions as the Saptamatrikas (seven mothers) or Navadurga (nine aspects of Durga). On the sixth day major festivities and social celebrations start. The first nine days overlap with Navaratri festivities in other traditions of Hinduism. The puja rituals involve mantras (words manifesting spiritual transformation), shlokas (holy verses), chants and arati, and offerings. These also include Vedic chants and recitations of the Devi Mahatmya text in Sanskrit. The shlokas and mantras praise the divinity of the goddess; according to the shlokas Durga is omnipresent as the embodiment of power, nourishment, memory, forbearance, faith, forgiveness, intellect, wealth, emotions, desires, beauty, satisfaction, righteousness, fulfillment and peace. The specific practices vary by region.

With all of this in mind, the festiviaties are surprisingly environmentally friendly. The sculpture-idols for the puja are traditionally made of biodegradable materials such as straw, clay, soil, and wood. In today's times, brighter colored statues have increased in popularity and have diversified the use of non-biodegradable, cheaper or more colorful substitute synthetic raw materials. Environmental activists have raised concerns about the paint used to produce the statue, stating that the heavy metals in these paints pollute rivers when the statues are immersed at the end of the Durga festival. Brighter colors that are also biodegradable and eco-friendly, as well as the traditional natural colors, are typically more expensive compared to the non biodegradable paints. The Indian state of West Bengal has banned the use of hazardous paints, and various state government have started distributing lead-free paints to artisans at no cost to prevent pollution.

Thought despite its rich and long history with millions of people across India celebrating the 10 day festoval, has come under criticism especially from animal rights organizations in regards to one of the traditions of the festival, which is animal sacrifices. Despite the criticism however, most communities prefer symbolic sacrifice, where a statue of the asura is made of flour or equivalent, is immolated and smeared with vermilion, symbolic of the blood that had spilled during the battle. Other substitutes include a vegetable or a sweet dish considered equivalent to the animal. In certain instances, devotees consider animal sacrifice distasteful, and practice alternate means of expressing devotion while respecting the views of others in their tradition.

With that in mind communities performing actual sacrifice, an animal is sacrificed, mainly at temples. In Nepal, West Bengal, Odisha and Assam, animal sacrifices are performed at Shakta temples to commemorate the legend of Durga slaying Mahishasura. This involves slaying of a fowl, goat or a male water-buffalo. This practice is rare among Hindus outside the regions of Bengal, Odisha and Assam. In these regions, the festival season is primarily when significant animal sacrifices are observed.

"Indeed. I'm sure cooperation between Spain and Maghreb will be of great benefit to both our nations. Spain is currently developing her own spaceport in Equatorial Guinea, which essentially lays on the Equator, and the nation's first privately-developed orbital-class rocket will hopefully achieve its first successful orbit by December of this year or maybe January of next year. Should Maghreb have any microsatellites they wish to launch, I'm sure the Instituto Nacional de Aeronautica (INDA) would be happy to provide launch services, especially considering the geographical proximity between Spain and Maghreb compared to Maghreb and India and China."

MERITXELL BATET ELECTED PSOE GENERAL SECRETARY AS PEDRO SANCHEZ DEPARTS SPANISH POLITICS; SPANISH CORTES PREPARES TO VOTE ON NEW INTERIM DEPUTY PM

    | MADRID - Deputy Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez's resignation from both his offices as Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Spain and the General Secretary of the Spanish Socialist Workers Party (PSOE) was expected by many, as calls from both the local and international scenes erupted suddenly as the Spain-Maghreb conference began in Casablanca, calling for him to resign. Sanchez's sudden departure from Spanish politics left a power vacuum in the PSOE, which is currently the largest minority in the Cortes Generales and stands as the second-largest political party in terms of members, under the conservative People's Party (PP). As the PSOE was on the verge of collapse amidst internal unrest and infighting, the President of the Congress of Deputies, Mertixell Batet, a moderate liberal socialist with support for pro-market reform, was elected unanimously by the PSOE leadership to serve as the new General Secretary of the party. She assumed leadership of the party and ejected those who were stirring up infighting in an attempt to collapse the party and publicly announced that the PSOE had stabilized on the 27th of October. When the Cortes Generales proposed that Batet take up the position of Interim Deputy Prime Minister until the 2028 national elections, the PSOE General Secretary turned it down and proposed a Cortes vote on who should serve as the new Interim Deputy Prime Minister. Prime Minister Cayetana Alvarez de Toledo granted permission for the vote to occur from Casablanca, where she was leading Spain through discussions with the Republic of Maghreb. The Senate Committee on the Office of Prime Minister whitelisted Augustina Torres, a centrist progressive and the president of the centrist Ciudadanos party, Nadia Calvino, the current Minister of Finance, widely regarded as the third in line to the prime ministership, meaning the Finance Minister was directly underneath the Deputy Prime Minister, Zaida Cantera, the PSOE deputy General Secretary, and Santiago Abascal, a far-right politician who advocated himself as a 'moderate nationalist'. |

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐃𝐀𝐑𝐊 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐓 𝐎𝐅 𝐀𝐅𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐀
     | CENTRAL AFRICAN FEDERATION

“ᴀ ʀᴇᴠɪᴇᴡ ᴏꜰ ᴛʜᴇ ᴄᴀꜰ ᴀɴᴅ ᴀꜰʀɪᴄᴀꜱ ʟᴏɴɢᴇꜱᴛ ᴡᴀʀ ɪɴ ʜɪꜱᴛᴏʀʏ."

In 1997, the Mobutu regime officially collapsed after the successful invasion of the Rwandan-backed AFDL, led by Laurent-Désiré Kabila, a long time anti-mobutuist who had opposed the regime since the late 60s. The reasons for the fall of Mobutu are numerous and too long to detail, but it can be summed up by a long line of corruption and abuses of power, oppression of minorities, economic stagnation with the fall of copper prices, and most importantly of all *drum roll* the Rwandan Genocide. The Rwandan genocide sparked a horrific bloodbath that swept across sub-Saharan Africa, ultimately leading to the deaths of some four million people. The genocide was perpetrated by the Hutu power group, Interahamwe, the group was formed as a sort of reaction to Tutsi political domination from the days of the independent kingdom to the colonial period under the Belgians. The resentment had been brewing and finally exploded when the then President Juvénal Habyarimana plane crashed, resulting in his death and the beginning of the Rwandan genocide. In a single month, over 491,000–800,000 Tutsi were murdered by the Interahamwe. The Tutsi exiles, the Rwandan Patriotic Front, led by Paul Kagame invaded Rwanda, by late July the RPF had liberated Kigali and for the next month pushed into the rest of the country. FAR, Interahamwe, Akuzu, and Hutu's fled Rwanda into Zaire by the millions as they fear reprisals from the RPF. This event was known as the Great Lakes refugee crisis. Mobutu's involvement in the genocide had not been forgotten by Kagame, alongside the Hutus in Zaire doing cross-border attacks, who gave Kagame the best excuse to hit two birds with one stone. Kagame alongside his Ugandan ally, President Museveni, providing aid for the AFDL to lead a rebellion against Mobutu in which is now known as the 1st Congo War. Eastern Congo fell within a year of fighting, and the various Tutsi militias within the AFDL began destroying Hutu refugee camps. Aside from Rwanda and Ugandan involvement, Angola also involved itself in the war as Mobutu had in part financed the UNITA rebels in the past. By 1997 the war was over, with Mobutu overthrow and in exile, Kabila took over Zaire, renaming it Congo once again.

While many hoped that peace would at long last come to Congo, Kabila proved just as tyrannical as Mobutu and many suspected him of being a Rwandan agent. Thus many political rivals and ethnic groups began rebelling. Attempting to save his image among the general public, Kabila attempted to kick out all Rwandan and Ugandan forces from the country. Kagame not having any of this, armed anti-Kabila rebels and sent Rwandan paratroopers into the Bas-Congo. The Rwandans easily captured the strip, cutting the Kinsasha government from its sea access. Robert Mugabe from Zimbabwe sent troops to aid Kabila, so did the Angolans and Namibians. Despite the re-enforcements, the Rwandans managed to get to Kinsasha but after heavy fighting was forced to retreat back to Bas-Congo. Despite being unable to take Kinsasha, Rwandan/Ugandan-backed rebels managed to overrun most of eastern and northern Congo. Things radically changed however when Ernest Wamba dia Wamba, leader of the Rwandan-backed RCD changed his headquarters from Goma to Ugandan-controlled Kisangani. This drove a wedge between Rwanda and Uganda, and in that same month, Kabila and Museveni made peace. The RCD once Rwandas pawn now turned into the Forces for Renewal and started fighting against the Rwandans. The fighting would drag out with both sides unable to make break threw on either front. Eventually, in July 1999, the Lusaka Ceasefire Agreement was signed by the six warring countries (Democratic Republic of Congo, Angola, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Rwanda and Uganda).

Not long after in January 2001, Laurent-Désiré Kabila was shot and killed by a bodyguard, a child soldier Rashidi Mizele. But in truth, it was a secret coup carried out by Kabila's own son, Joseph Kabila, and the Rwandan secret service. With Kabila senior gone, junior working under the control of the Rwandans declared peace with the Rwandans and his intention to have talks with Kagame. These talks became known as the Kinsasha Talks and the details of these talks remain clouded in secrecy. What ultimately came out of these talks was a declaration of the Union between Rwanda, Burundi, and Congo into a single superstate know as the Central African Federation. Immediatly some of Kabila's senior officers attempted to overthrow Jr in the 2002 Kinsasha Uprising. The uprising was put down by a coalition of pro-Joseph own forces and the Rwandan forces that had occupied Bas-Congo. The uprising failed and Joseph was put into power and in July 2003 the Central African Federation was made official. The idea was for each country to function as semi-autonomous federal republics similar to that of the USSR, but since day one of the Federation true power was held by the Rwandans. In reaction to the union, many of the Congolese factions such as the RCD, MLC, Forces for Renewal, and the UPC formed a single coalition, the Liberation Front of Congo, and occupied most of the former Ugandan controlled territory in the north. In eastern Congo, several Mai-Mai militias formed the NCD-R, the eastern wing of the LFC but control of the NCD-R remained under the command of General Guidon Shimiray. The NCD-R allied itself with many anti-Rwandan militias operating the area such as the FDLR and Burundi CNDD-FDD. Rwanda, fearing the east becoming too difficult to control, forced Joseph to hand over control to the Rwandans. Establishing the Kivu Federal Republic with its own Federal Forces consisting of local warlords the Rwandans have previously backed. The formation of the Kivu Federal Republic was massively unpopular as many Congolese saw it as Rwanda stealing land from Congo. Around 2004, Katangan and Kaisai leaders began petitioning the Federal Parliament to allow for the formation of their own Federal Republics. Joseph was incredibly against the idea as he feared it would weaken him further, for the Rwandans it was a similar process as they feared that other parts of Congo would demand their own Federal Republics. In reaction, the Katangans and Kasai militias formed a single Liberation Front. The Katangan Liberation Front managed to even capture Lubumbashi, the economic heart of Congo. The Kasai Liberation Front itself managed to overrun Mbuji-Mayi. Fearing a domino effect, the Rwandans and Congolese immediately began organizing a mass offensive to retake both cities. By February 2006, the Federal Government had pushed out the rebels, even killing or capturing most of their leadership.

In the current day, the war still goes on and millions have died. The Liberation Front of Congo while pushed out of the west, central, and most of eastern Congo, is still strong in northern Congo. Even having its own self-declared legitimate government working out of Kisangani as their capital. The NCD-R and various Hutu factions still fight against the Kivu Federal Republic and Rwanda. The Katangan Liberation Front while having lost Lubumbashi still operates in the Katangan bush. The Kasai Liberation Front also operates in very low-intensity fighting in central congo but has been mostly suppressed. Along the Ugandan-Sudanese border area, new factions have raised up due to the events that have transpired. The Holy Army of Central Africa is a radical Islamic terrorist group attempting to establish an Islamic Emirate in Central Africa. The HACA also controls the Bantu Liberation Front, a militia consisting of Ugandan nationalists who are opposed to the Sudanese occupation in Uganda. HACA has also been know to work with the Islamic Salvation Front, a Sudanese Islamist group that commits acts of terror against the Khartoum government.

Mad Dog Dead: End of Muammar Gaddafi’s Libya
Tripoli, Socialist People’s Libyan Arab Jamahiriya
September, 2026
____________

In 1969, a young officer and his band of compatriots deposed the King of Libya in a bloodless coup. To the West, this was no more than just another coup in the Arab world. To the Soviets, this was no more than another customer of T-55s and MiG-21s. Little did they know that the Mad Dog of the Middle East would come to haunt them. Colonel Muammar Gaddafi would brutally rule Libya for the next five decades under both his own banner and that of various Arab unification projects. Enacting a unique campaign of terror against his own people, motivated by his own delusions, the Brotherly Leader became just the same as the King he had deposed all those years ago. His ideas and dreams were simply whatever best suited his ambitions of power at the time. He was alternately an Arab nationalist and an African nationalist, a soldier against terrorism and a terrorist himself. He was consistent only in his inhumanity.

It was not until the early 2020s, in the fifth decade of his Reign of Terror, that there were any signs of change. As he reached elderly age, day-to-day governance was increasingly turned over to his lieutenants and bureaucrats. As men younger than he worked to change Libya, Gaddafi was prone to spasms of authoritarianism where he would once again be firmly autocratic before slipping away again. It was at this time he was privately diagnosed with dementia and borderline personality disorder. This was a revelation to nobody. Despite this, some progress was made. Gaddafi was corralled to meet with foreign leaders, and economic reforms were enacted. Those with a keen ear for Jamahiriya politics could hear whispers of the so-called Tripoli Five, a loose group of military leaders and politicians who held true power in Libya. They worked to maintain stability in the country, supposedly waiting for Gaddafi’s much delayed but inevitable death. Such relief finally came on September 9th, 2026, when Gaddafi passed silently in his sleep. Perhaps too noble a death for a man of his infamy. For a time, his death was a highly regulated secret. The nurse who discovered him and several of Gaddafi’s all-female bodyguards were disposed of. The Tripoli Five met and enacted their plan.

On September 13th, the world officially learned of the death of Muammar Gaddafi. With all the pomp and circumstance of his regime, a national day of mourning was declared. But when citizens flooded the streets in spontaneous celebration, they were not stopped. Invoking the heritage of the Revolutionary Command Council, a five-member National Transition Council was announced. The Tripoli Five would finally be publicly known: Osama al-Juwaili (Defense Minister), Fayez al-Sarraj (President), Abdullah al-Thani (Prime Minister), Mohammed al-Menfi (Speaker of the General People’s Congress), and Abdullah Senussi (Director of the Mukhabarat). al-Sarraj would be Chairman of the council and now the nominal leader of Libya. While all other organs of state would remain, the NTC would be vested with total legislative and executive authority with a two-year charter. With the rubber-stamp of the General People’s Congress, Libya was on a prospective road away from the Mad Dog.

While the national celebration was openly permitted by the government, a swift crackdown would soon begin. Fearing that Libya might fall to pieces as Post-Saddam Iraq had, al-Sarraj ordered the increased deployment of police and military forces to important locations. Two concerns were paramount: a spontaneous popular revolution and significant tribal rebellion. Tuareg tribes in the southwest and Tebou tribes in the south were heavily discriminated against under Gaddafi and had significant reason to wish for rebellion or even secession. Checkpoints emerged on all major roads and highways, and military police flooded the streets.

In his public address declaring the NTC, al-Sarraj said, ”Libya has lost its greatest revolutionary and greatest statesman. But now we must look to the future. We must maintain law and order, we must maintain unity and social cohesion. The great masses of the people must be at peace if we are to continue this great revolutionary experiment. The necessary deployment of security forces will ensure this.”

As a despot of near unparalleled brutality passes to history, a great many questions remain. What will become of the Jamahiriya? What will become of his legacy and of his name? Who will succeed him? Who is truly in power in Libya?

      | Armenians and Azeris Clash - Столкновение армян и азербайджанцев |

The Armenians were vastly more Pro-Russia than the average Azeri especially in Western Azerbaijan. Nagorno-Karabakh, home to a huge Armenian population saw the coming violence as Russian Armed Forces and Azeri Militias clashed in the mountains of Azerbaijan leading to the death of 15 Russian Soldiers and around 59 Azeri Militia men since June of this year. Armenians soon began to arm themselves getting weapons from Armenia proper and from the Kartvelians while the local Azeris were given arms from the Chechens for the most part. Armenian and Azeris would skirmish heavily in eastern Nagorno-Karabakh as Armenians fired upon Azeri militias trying to use their land to cross through and ambush/flank Russian positions in the region. The Armenians would fly the flag of Nagorno-Karabakh to identify themselves as friendly to Russian Forces. Many Armenians from the RRA would cross over the border to join the Armenian militias in the fight against Azeris. The largest clash would be in the Armenian village of Günəşli in the Hardut Valley as Azeris tried to secure the valley with the idea that Armenians militias in the Town of Hardut launching missions to disrupt covert Azeri supply lines into Nakhchivan. The clash would last 10 hours as One hundred Azeri Militiamen attempted to enter the valley, but came under heavy small arms fire from the surrounding mountains and a small garrison in the village of Günəşli, with both sides lacking heavy weaponry relying sole on Soviet era small arms casualties were low on both sides, with the goal of suppression more important to keep the Azeris out of the valley the clash was a slow process with long pauses in firefights as both sides were able to quickly hide from sight. Azeri Militiamen were given the order to pull back to save their lives for a later push with heavier weapons to break through Armenian lines and take the strategic valley.

As the unrest worsened in Western Azerbaijan with militia skirmishes occurring daily and Russian positions coming under fire at least once a day the Russian Administration has decided it was needed to give the military more control over the “problem regions giving them more power to police the population in the region and prevent corruption of local police forces. These zones would become under control of a Military governor , the Administration has made promises to the Civilian population that being in Zone does not mean you lose your rights, but Russian forces are solely their for their safety.

ITALY TO OVERHAUL FINANCIAL FRAUD SENTENCES

OCTOBER 2026

In order to better represent a free financial society and market, the Italian Government under the Brothers of Italy + Lega Coalition has announced it is beginning work on a new Financial Crime overhaul which would update sentences for individuals breaking the law to be more "fair" and "encompassing of their overall crime". Primarily Punishments shall be increased in scale, with minimum fines to consist of 120% of the value of funds stolen or unlawfully gained, which is quite contrary to some other western Countries which levy a "tax" on financial crimes and thus is seen as corruption and Governments "taking a cut of the loot". Definitions of financial fraud shall additionally be updated to include Companies or Individuals which create so called Phantom Shares, or Naked Shares which are backed by no physical share but instead the promise of a share in the future. Uniquely for the Italian Government, other Political Parties have so far announced their support and thus it shows a very rare instance of non partisan cooperation between Italian voting blocs.

As the overhaul mainly targets illegal activities such as short selling, it is believed that extensive fine incomes can be levied from the overhaul which could fund public projects, one popular proposal being financial courses for all Students in School to teach fair market principles and the inner workings of the Stock Market. Ultimately the move has been praised by all major voting blocs, with sole exception being taken by the Bankers Union which has described the proposition that they are not living up to the standards of the law an "unfortunate claim which is untrue".

New Partnerships in Old Europe

President Boris recently made an speech to the Nation announcing a series of succesful agreements signed recently with governments of Benelux and France expanding the net of diplomatic relations of Yugoslavia with Western Europe. The agreement signed with Benelux government grants of $10 Billion in investments for the conversion of Yugoslav power plants and infrastructure, with main focus in the expasion of the Ports in Montenegro. A memorandum of cooperation for joint development of armaments between FN Herstal and Zastav Arms, as also, the immediate transfer of four Karel Doorman Frigates for the Yugoslav Navy, with the possibility of more assets as needed. As for the Fench government the Yugoslav marines received a donation of sixty four units of the Panhard VBL with Yugoslav government only paying the costs of transportation from France

Wings for Yugoslavia

Different from the bigger countries, the Yugoslav Air Force does not need to invest in massive strategical transport planes such as the C-5 Galaxy. Altough the necessity of fast and medium sized transport aircraft is necessary not only for the military, but also the civilian uses. The current aircraft the Air Force operates from the Soviet times demonstrated to be not good for this kind of operation. Looking to change this scenario the Yugoslav government made deals with Ukraine and Brazil for the aquisition of four Antonov An-132 and two Embraer C-390 Millennium.

EL PAIS: VOX PARTY DIVIDES INTO MODERATES AND RADICALS

---

Vox Party Divides Into Moderates and Radicals
With the Cortes-led election on the new Interim Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Spain approaching, the right-wing Vox party has divided itself into Moderates and Radicals, splitting the party as Vox's leader, Santiago Abascal, leads in the race for the office of Interim Deputy Prime Minister.

WRITTEN BY VICENTE G. OLAYA | POLITICS

MADRID — OCTOBER 2026

Days have passed since Pedro Sanchez resigned from his posts as Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Spain and General Secretary of the Spanish Socialist Workers Party (PSOE) and even less time since Meritxell Batet, a prominent centrist-leaning moderate, assumed the role of General Secretary in that very same party. Although the vacuum left by Sanchez's resignation has been filled in terms of the post of General Secretary, the post of Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Spain remains unfilled.

Holding another full national election would have been a logistical and financial nightmare for a post as insignificant as the Deputy Prime Minister, a post which some had not even known of until Pedro Sanchez assumed the role of Acting Prime Minister in the health absence of Former Prime Minister Augustina Torres. 240-25 senators and 301-49 deputies (upper and lower houses respectively) voted in favor of holding a special session of the Cortes Generales to have the elected politicians vote on the new Interim Deputy Prime Minister, who will serve until the May 2028 national elections.

Senate President Meritxell Batet affirmed before the Spanish Senate on Wednesday:

. . . This vote will not be a vote by the people. Instead, it serves as a prime, justifiable and proper alternative to a nationwide vote. There are those who claim this vote will be compromised by the internal interests of politicians. I assure this Cortes, this nation, that this will not be the case. The Cortes Generales will uphold and maintain the pillars of democracy and self-determination which it is built upon.

Indeed, minor populist parties like the Liberal Populist Front of Spain (LPF) - a newly established right-wing populist party - staged demonstrations outside the Cortes Generales to protest the move, but much of Spain already agreed that the move was logistically and financially better compared to holding what many saw as an unnecessary election for an insignificant post - a post now more insignificant when the Cortes passed a resolution weakening the power of the Deputy Prime Minister substantially to prevent the crimes committed under Sanchez's term as Deputy Prime Minister.

With the method of voting set, the Cortes Generales directed the subordinate Senate Committee on the Office of Prime Minister to whitelist at least four (4) candidates for Interim Deputy Prime Minister. No prerequisites were set except for that they had to be serving political office within the Government of the Kingdom of Spain, may it be as a Senator, Deputy, party president or a Deputy Minister. After three surprising days of discussion, Santiago Abascal (Vox), Augustina Torres (Cs), Nadia Calvino (Independent), and Mertixell Batet (PS) were listed as the four candidates for Interim Deputy Prime Minister. Batet almost immediately dropped out of the race when she refused the candidacy on the grounds that she had 'a party to reform, a people to lead'.

Santiago Abascal is the candidate for the right-leaning nationalist Vox party. Representing a platform of intense patriotism and support of national defense budget increases, as well as establishing Equatorial Guinea as the 'strategic and economic center of East Africa', Abascal has secured himself a strong early lead in national online polls and in anonymous polls held in Madrid with the members of the Cortes Generales voting. All politicians voting have sworn under oath to vote as an Independent politician rather than simply voting for their party's candidate.

Augustina Torres is the candidate for the centrist progressive Ciudadanos (Cs) party and previously served as Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Spain from 2024 to 2026, when she resigned due to growing international pressure following the outbreak of hostilities with the Republic of Maghreb. While Torres is currently not serving in any political office, she aligned underneath one of the prerequisites which was being a party president. She is running on a platform of progressive politics and more or less supporting conservative ideals such as the minimalization of extensive spending on defense and foreign investments, which gave her appeal to the conservative politicians.

Nadia Calvino is an independent candidate who is currently serving as the Minister of Finance, the position officially directly subordinate to the Deputy Prime Minister, placing whoever holds that Finance Ministry post as the second in the line of succession for the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Spain. One of the more outspoken conservative Spaniards serving in the Spanish Government, she ran on a platform of cutting government spending and increasing profitability from Spanish exports and future foreign relations, an expected stance from a known economist.

With the race heating up and Abascal leading in early polls, the Vox party has all but collapsed and split into Moderates and Radicals, with both sides pushing for Abascal to endorse their side and install their representatives in party leadership positions. As of now, Abascal unofficially is aligned with the Radicals, who advocate the same policy of national empowerment and military strengthening, but the Vox party leader remains sympathetic for the Moderates, who could serve as his key to securing conservative and centrist politicians during the vote.

When Santiago Abascal was interviewed on his confidence in his potential victory, he stated:

. . . I'm fairly confident. For years Spain has been on the wrong track. A track which led and will lead us to accumulate tens of billions of dollars worth of national debt and endless responsibilities across the world as we continue to entangle our great nation in foreign engagements. The weakness of this government and its apparent mistrust in its own country must be changed, and I believe that I can bring that change to the table and make Spain strong again.

REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES | REPUBLIKA NG PILIPINAS

    | Malacanang Palace unveils Trans-Philippine Railway project | OCTOBER 2026

---

Malacanang Palace unveils Trans-Philippine Railway project
North-south railways connecting the three major landmasses of the Philippines - the islands of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao - have yet to be built due to the rise of tensions between the Philippine Government and CPP-NPA revolutionaries, but with peace talks underway this might change.

BY BERNADETTE E. TAMAYO | LOCAL

MANILA — OCTOBER 2026

For decades, travel to and from the bustling capital city of Manila on the massive Luzon island and the islands of Mindanao and Visayas have been limited to air and sea travel. Due to the immensity of the Philippine archipelago, rampant corruption in the 1990s onward within the Philippine Government, and the long-lasting communist revolutionary fight in Visayas and Mindanao, a ground route from Manila to the southern portions of the Philippine is non-existent, except for a few roads and highways which have been deteriorating in quality due to years of a lack of maintenance and the ongoing guerilla fight in the south.

However, with discussions between the Government of the Republic of the Philippines and the Communist revolutionary front ongoing in Manila even after a terror ambush on an AFP convoy in Mindanao, peace is on the horizon. In the early days of the conference President Benigno Aquino III expressed 'great concern' over starting a Trans-Philippine ground transportation route, stating that 'the Government cannot endanger the lives of Filipino construction workers'. As the conference ploughed onwards, the Aquino government secured a guarantee from the Communist leadership that infrastructure project development in Mindanao, Visayas, and all affected areas 'will continue without interruption'.

In front of President Aquino, the Filipino delegation, and a group of media including reporters, Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) General Secretary Jose Maria Sison stated:

The Communist Party of the Philippines recognizes that infrastructure development programs within Mindanao and Visayas will benefit the local people there. After conferring with my comrades in Mindanao, the CPP will be agreeing to a Mutual Infrastructure Development Security Agreement, which will aim to ensure the safety of construction workers working on infrastructure projects in hostile hotspot regions and eventually the safety of the users using these new infrastructure. We will respect the will of the people, and that is further development of Mindanao and Visayas.

President Aquino and his delegation reportedly applauded the statement, according to one Department of Transportation (DOTr) representative at the meeting. The DOTr held individual discussions with the CPP-NPA representatives on the possibility of cooperation over the construction of a six-lane highway connecting the city of Cagayan de Oro in Northern Mindanao to the city of Davao in Southern Mindanao. The highway was approved by both representatives but the Philippine Senate reduced it to a four-lane highway, slated to start construction in 2027 and finish in 2030. Also discussed and subsequently approved was a proposal by the San Miguel Corporation (SMC), a worldwide Filipino conglomerate to build a Trans-Philippine Railway, linking port cities on all three major islands. and effectively creating a Trans-Philippine railway that doesn't cross bodies of water.

The Trans-Philippine Railway is a proposed Trans-Philippine railway project to be spearheaded by the Department of Transportation (DOTr) with construction and partial funding by the San Miguel Corporation (SMC). The project will be one of many built partially and funded partially by the private sector and maintained by the private sector, with the DOTr and the Philippine Government only acting as a rule and policy enforcer and the tax agent. The lines form a non-connected railway line from the city of Aparri in the north to the city of Zamboanga in the south. Although none of the lines connect the islands together, all of them end at a port, a city with an airport or a harbor, etc., effectively creating a north-south link connecting the Philippines together.

Malacanang Palace formally announced the project in collaboration with the Department of Transportation (DOTr), the San Miguel Corporation (SMC), and other railway corporations. President Benigno Aquino III released no public start and end date but many assume construction will start sometime in mid-2027 with completion no earlier than 2035. The project will cost, according to official DOTr estimates, at least P249 billion pesos or $5 billion dollars, but it should be noted that this cost is an estimate.

PARIS CITY MAYOR MURDERED? — MAYOR BRUNO JULLIARD FOUND DEAD IN HOME BY POLICE
The 45 year old Paris city Mayor Bruno Julliard (SOC) has reportedly been found deceased in his mayoral residence, the Hôtel de Ville by city authorities.

      By Bertrand Guay | AFP

      PARIS — OCTOBER 2026

Just 3 weeks ago Mayor Bruno Julliard had announced his bid to run in the quarterly parliamentary elections for the National Assembly. This morning at around 10:30 AM, Julliard's private secretary, Philippe Desmazes discovered the mayor unconscious and dialed the emergency services hotline 112 immediately. When medical personnel arrived at the scene, they pronounced the 45 year old Bruno Julliard deceased. Homicide detectives have taken Julliard's body in for an official autopsy as crime scene evidence hints at possible foul play.

Julliard had already accompanied previous Socialist Party candidates on campaign tours in recent years and was a rising voice of the Socialist Party with hopes of one day returning the party to power in both houses of Parliament. Mayor Julliard's wife was reportedly "out of town" when his death occurred. Paris Deputy Mayor and now acting Mayor of Paris Emmanuel Grégoire made a press statement earlier this morning stating: "We are deeply saddened by the tragic and sudden death of our beloved city mayor, Bruno Julliard. We must put our trust in city authorities whom will get down to the bottom of this tragedy and our hearts and prayers go out to Bruno Julliard's wife and First Lady of Paris, Madame Paul-Valère Julliard."

President Emmanuel Macron had the following remarks on the issue:

I share deeply in sadness which has stricken our wonderful capital city. Mayor Julliard was a great leader and I was honoured to have worked with him. While we hope that Paris authorities are able to get down to the bottom the mayor's untimely death, our hearts, minds, and prayers are with the family of Bruno Julliard.

While many already speculate that Mayor Julliard was murdered, we cannot confirm nor deny anything at this time. The Paris City Police Department remains vigilant as homicide detectives continue to search the scene for any remaining evidence. No one has been brought forward for questioning either, as Madame Julliard's statement about being "out of town" has an alibi with video surveillance showing her in the downtown area of Amiens both this morning and yesterday with her mother. However the mayor's private secretary Philippe Desmazes has not yet been cleared.

Hi everyone.

I'm back after a multiple-year hiatus and thankfully I remembered the password for my current nation.

I want to RP some political components of my country soon, and am interested in seeing if anyone in the region would like to be involved. I want to update and use a modern military, RP elections and a parliament, RP foreign affairs (trading, military training, etc).

I'm going to lean my nation into being a left-wing Catholic nation. I already started with the word vomit a long time ago (my country is a Ergatocratic Ecclesiocracy).

You can take a look at my old factbook pages to get an idea as to what I'm looking for: nation=whitokazi/detail=factbook

I work a quiet night shift job, so I'm looking forward to staying involved in the region over the next few months.

Cheers.

      | THE BAKU TERROR - БАКИНСКИЙ ТЕРРОР |
      | 31st, October - 2026 |
      | Baku, Russian Republic of Azerbaijan - Баку, Российская Азербайджанская Республика |

      | The streets bombed - Улицы бомбили |

The streets of Baku fell silent as a day of unprecedented terror gripped the major city. Trash and blood filled the streets as people frantically looked for family and friends after 20 large bombs exploded in the city throughout the day, killing hundreds and scaring the populace of the Capital of the Russian Republic of Azerbaijan. The skyline once a symbol of tranquility and modernity now filled with smoke and towering infernos as thousands of firefighters came to the city to stop the fires and perform search and rescue along with the police. Russian soldiers were also heavily involved in the protection of the city with a reported 10 more bombs found and disarmed before explosion by Russian bomb squads. The loss of life was tremendous throughout the City as Hospitals, the Flame Towers, the Old City, Russian Checkpoints, and tourist landmarks. The destruction was massive with a reported 573 civilian, 118 First responders, and 89 Russian Soldiers lost in the bombings and 1,000+ wounded in the 24 hour period. Eastern Azerbaijan was left in a shock after the attacks while militias in western Azerbaijan were reported to be celebrating the attack on the Capital. It was rumored that Chechen Islamists were essentially in the planning of the Baku Terror as it was called in the Media with many news channel reporting it as a “Islamist Azerbaijani” attack rather than part of the struggle for Azeri independence as a Russian Othorthodox Church was targeted in the attack as it was frequented heavily by Russian soldiers stationed in the Russian Republic.

” The terror I have seen coming out of Baku is heart wrenching. Many brave people have lost their lives in these heinous attacks targeting Medical, Tourists, and even religious institutions in Azerbaijan. This has shown us that the militias in the west are not fighting for an honorable cause, but now a campaign to instill terror in Azerbaijan and in Russia. Islamists have infiltrated the ranks of the Militias and this is a development that the Russian Armed Forces will not overlook in this conflict.”

MINISTRY OF THE ARMED FORCES: PRESIDENT MACRON ORDERS ADDITIONAL TROOPS TO ASSIST IN CONGO WAR
      VTH REPUBLIC | PARIS, 2026

    | HELM OF SÈCURITÈ, MINISTÈRE DES FORCES ARMÉES - | Per the Commander in Chief's orders, the French Armed Forces will being a rapid deployment of 31,000 troops to the Congo and Burundi respectively in order to reinforce the already 4,000 troops stationed there in Kinshasa. A number of these soldiers will be sent temporarily to construct 3 new airbases for French and allied operations against anti-Kinshasa militants, anti-Rwandan militants, along with groups like the HACA, Katanga Liberation Front, and Kasai Independence Front. The Republic of France has been embroiled in the 13 year long conflict since it's outbreak in 2003. Otherwise known as the 3rd Congo War, it has become a humanitarian and political crisis unlike anything ever seen on the African continent. The Élysée has taken on commitments to France's partners in the region such as the Congo Federal Army, Central African Federation, and the Republic of Burundi. France will be joined by our United Kingdom counterparts as well as we aim not only to engage and destroy the rapidly growing militant groups, but also to provide humanitarian aid to the struggling civilian populations through constant supplies of food and water to effected communities. The Defense Ministry has also approved a transfer of 10x Eurocopter Tiger and 10x Mil Mi-35 (from Djibouti) attack helicopters and 50x Panhard VBL scout cars to the Rwandan Defense Forces. It is expected that more equipment will be transferred over time. |

MACRON ORDERS ADDITIONAL TROOPS TO ASSIST IN CONGO WAR
President Emmanuel Macron is finally weighing in on Africa's longest war by expanding France's commitments and sending additional troops.

      By Ludovic Marin | AFP

      PARIS — OCTOBER 2026

The 3rd Congo War has taken a turn in recent months as new equipment adds to new blood on the fields in the war torn nation of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Since the start of the largely ethnic based conflict in 2003, the Republic of France has played a silent role in arming and training the Congo Federal Army while also working with the Central African Federation as a whole and the Rwandan Defense Forces. For the last 13 years, blood has been shed and countless lives have been lost with very little gain to show for it by any side in the conflict. With new weaponry and new proxies being added to the mix, President Macron has ordered the rapid deployment of additional troops to the area.

With France already having 4,000 troops in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, President Macron intends to deploy an additional 31,000 which will largely be there on a temporary mission to build 3 new airbases in Kinshasa, Goma, and Bujumbura (Burundi). The airbases will serve as the core for what Macron has called "a war from the air" in which French forces will bomb anti-Kinshasa militants and anti-Rwandan militants along with groups like the HACA, Katanga Liberation Front, and Kasai Independence Front. The United Kingdom has also answered the call and will be joining with forces of their own as British and French troops plan to work side by side.

Minister of Defense Florence Parly had the following remarks on the issue:

The war in the Congo has quickly deteriorated in recent months with new proxies popping up and militant groups like the HACA, Katanga Liberation Front, and Kasai Independence Front are growing stronger with new equipment. It is time for France to own up to our commitments which we have made to our partners including the Congo Federal Army and Central African Federation. President Macron's increasing readiness and order to deploy additional troops to the Central African region is fully backed by the Ministry of Defense.

With the arrival of the 31,000 additional French troops, some of which are trained and skilled engineers which will construct the 3 massive airbases in Kinshasa, Goma, and Bujumbura (Burundi); these reinforcements will also bring vital supplies of food and water for themselves and mainly the struggling civilian population. Where the UN has failed, France and the United Kingdom will pick up the slack. New armaments for the bogged down forces of the Congo Federal Army and Rwandan Defense Forces will also be arriving along with the increased French and British presence.
