The flag was designed by Stormaen. It depicts a remembrance day poppy. I plan on switching to a more sombre design on the day itself.

Yeah it's not the best (even less so once it's up). Feel free to switch flags sooner, Almonaster Nuevo.

Something a little different, then.

Today at 11 a.m. the United Kingdom, much of the Commonwealth and Europe will fall silent for 2 minutes to commemorate Remembrance Day; the day we remember all those, military and civilian, who died in war fighting so that we may live and live freely.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Unknown Warrior being laid to rest. He was an unknown soldier picked at random from the battlefields of France to lie among the Kings and Queens of Britain in Westminster Abbey and in doing so represent all the dead of war, and mark them out as heroes of the highest honour.

This year is particularly poignant for an obvious other reason. Not only because coronavirus prevents the usual presence of veterans and other participants, but also because this time of hardship reminds us that generations before have endured worse and emerged all the stronger for their struggle.

Let us summon again that spirit, recall that resolve, and take comfort in knowing that when the night is darkest, the new day is about to dawn. There will come a day when all this will be memories. Let us remember and look forward.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Lest We Forget

please someone send me a discord message, a telegram and an email next year.

Lewis Hamilton is F1 World Champion for a record tying 7th time. What a crazy race in Turkey. Feel for our Canadian lad Stroll. He nearly had his first win.

First pole is still a decent weekend for him. I think his team dropped the ball on strategy, but he was never going to win it.

Had it remained a wet track Stroll may have had a chance. As soon as it started drying out, the track came back to Hamilton. Also helps that he essentially turned his intermediate tires into dry tires. A slick move one might say.

Hello everyone. I won't take up much of your time; I will be here just a day or so... unless you tell me to move along.
Just wondering as I wander if anyone has a junk card or two to gift to me. Anything you can give will be much appreciated.

And if you see something you like in my meager card collection (aside from any of the cards in my “Novelty Cards Worth Keeping” collection), let me know. I am sure we can come to some kind of trade agreement -- I am happy to trade rather than buy/sell.
