Ainulindalë (Quenya: [ˌai̯nuˈlindalɛ ]; "Music of the Ainur") is the creation account in the J. R. R. Tolkien's legendarium.

In many ways central to Tolkien's "sub creative" cosmology, the Ainulindalë gives an account of the Ainur, a class of angelic beings who perform a great music prefiguring the creation of the material universe (Eä). Ilúvatar introduces the theme of the sentient races of Elves and Men, not anticipated by the Ainur, and gives physical being to the prefigured universe. Some of the Ainur decide to enter the physical world to prepare for their arrival, becoming the Valar and Maiar.

Ainulindale Regional Message Board

Hello!

**sends over a basket of muffins and a pitcher of iced tea**

bg3 fans?

Greeting residents of Arda, Valinor, and everywhere between,
I want to thank all who participated in Z-Day 2024 - we had a phenomenal showing that heaped much honor upon your names, and upon our region as a whole. Through work that was as skilled as it was tireless, we achieved zero-zombie status at about half a day into the contest. Check the Z-Day 2024 final tally here:
page=zday_tally

You will see that that the blessed realm of Ainulindale scored NUMBER THREE IN THE WORLD for "Most Survivors + No Zombies", and NUMBER FIVE for "Most Survivors". This is among the ENTIRE WORLD - versus regions many times our size. For many hours - before we were overtaken by the region "NationStates" - Ainulindale was in fact NUMBER ONE in that first category (I saved a screenshot - happy to share upon request). Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined such a feat. You have done what most would call impossible. You served Ainulindale with distinction, dedication and skill. You are all heroes of our region. A most well-deserved THANK YOU! I will commission a special badge to be provided to participants - so they may proudly wear it as a custom nation banner.

This fine showing has given us some prestige and influence. A couple of other regions want to partner with us for next year. Z-Day 2025 will see a much larger and more populous Ainulindale, if only temporarily. This might allow us to garner the number two, three spots on the above tally, respectively. It will mean more work, but also more nations to share the burden.

On a bit darker side, you will notice that Ainulindale now has password-protected border control. If you leave the region, you will need the password to re-enter. Officers have the password, and can provide it upon request. Never before in the many-year history have we needed a password - but with the success and visibility of out Z-Day efforts, came the unfortunate attention of undesirable and malicious elements. The was an attempted invasion and desecration of Ainulindale - but it was deftly thwarted by quick action by one of the officers. Because some envy our shining success, we will need to maintain this password-protection for the time being. However, don't let that stop you from inviting friends to join our region - all good-natured folk are still welcome.

That is really wonderful news. I am very happy for all of us.

But, could we get a heads-up in advance next time? Had I known this was going down, I would have been on the front lines with everyone. As it is, this is the first I heard of the plan for a region-wide event for Zombie-Day 2024.

Congrats to everyone who was there. Sounds like we are on for Zombie-Day 2025 - count me it.

Thanks so much.

How is Penguia these days?

I see that with the passing of Derdonia we are left without a Knight Marshal. Perhaps it's the recent surge of patriotism speaking, but I would like to toss my hat into the ring for that position.

If Ainulindale is to be beset with foul creatures at its borders, then they will taste the keeness of our blades. We swear, if elected, to defend the region against such foes.

Oh we're very sleepy. Recently oversaw the transportation of fifty militarized units into our deepest bunkers from another region, so that was exciting. The zombies were so frozen we hardly felt them.

Seconded.
Any objections to The Republic of Hadhafang becoming the new Knight Marshal ?
