Post: Alexander Ironside Gives Inspirational Speech in Dayton
Nations: United States of Mesothallania
Date: Tuesday, October 22, 2024 (irl Gregorian Calendar)

Mr. Alexander Ironside appeared earlier today at the height of the mount at Huffman Prairie Flying Field, where the Wright Brothers successfully tested the first iterations of the modern airplane. Here are some excepts from the speech that are circling news media:

Ladies and gentlemen, friends, and fellow Mesothallanians,

What a remarkable place to stand, right here at Huffman Prairie Flying Field, the very birthplace of aviation innovation! This sacred ground reminds us that every great journey begins with a vision and a leap of faith.

Today, we gather not just to reflect on our past but to ignite our future. In this very spot, the Wright brothers dared to dream, to innovate, and to soar. But let us not forget the road they traveled. They faced skepticism, ridicule, and countless failures. Many laughed at their dreams, dismissing them as folly. Yet, fueled by their unyielding spirit, they persevered. When they finally took to the skies, the world marveled at their achievement. They transformed doubt into admiration and skepticism into inspiration.

As your next president, I promise to honor that spirit of innovation. We stand on the brink of a new era—an era defined by technology, creativity, and boundless possibility. From renewable energy to artificial intelligence, the advancements we create today will shape the world for generations to come.

Imagine the potential of new technologies on the horizon. Consider carbon capture and storage systems that can effectively remove CO2 from the atmosphere, combating climate change and preserving our planet for future generations. Think about advanced desalination technologies that can provide fresh water to arid regions, ensuring that every community has access to this vital resource. And envision personalized medicine powered by AI, where treatments are tailored specifically to the genetic makeup of individuals, revolutionizing healthcare and improving quality of life.

Now, let’s turn our gaze upward. The United States has long been a beacon of exploration and innovation through our space program. With our very own national space station, we have the opportunity to lead the world in space research and discovery.
I pledge to increase funding for our space endeavors, for the benefits of space exploration extend far beyond the stars. First, we can advance satellite technology to improve global communications and internet access, ensuring that even the most remote areas of our country are connected. Second, we can develop earth-monitoring systems that track climate change, natural disasters, and agricultural health, providing invaluable data that will help us protect our planet. Finally, we can inspire STEM education through partnerships with schools, showing our children the wonders of space and encouraging the next generation of scientists and engineers.

Imagine a nation where every child has access to cutting-edge education, where entrepreneurs can transform their ideas into reality, and where our infrastructure is not just maintained but reimagined. Together, we can build a future that reflects the best of who we are.

As your president, I will champion policies that fund research and development, that empower our innovators, and that inspire a culture of creativity. We will create grants for small businesses, support STEM education in our schools, and encourage public-private partnerships that bring bold ideas to life.

Let us channel the spirit of the Wright brothers. Just as they turned their struggles into triumph, we too can rise to the challenge. If we invest in innovation today, we will ensure that future generations look back at this moment in history with admiration. They will see us as the pioneers who dared to dream, who believed in the power of innovation, and who laid the foundation for a brighter tomorrow.

I come before you not just as a candidate but as a fellow believer in our nation's potential. Like the Wright brothers, I know that each of us has the power to contribute to this journey. Together, we can lift each other up and reach heights we’ve only dreamed of.

So, let us embrace this moment! Let us harness our ingenuity and our passion. Let us commit to a future where innovation leads the way and where every Mesothallanian can take flight.

Thank you, Ohio! Together, we will soar to new heights!

Absu passes Anti-Communist law through legislature, awaits Presidential signature.
Today, the Legislature of Absu passed a bill, which outlaws "politically extreme" parties from holding major positions in the government, labeling them as harmful to the country. This sparked numerous protests and riots throughout the nation, where protesters claimed the bill was unconstitutional. This comes after the Communist Party of Absu began to gain many new members and was projected to win their first seats in the Legislature. If signed by the President, the CPA, one of the "extremist" parties targeted by the new bill, would no longer be allowed to hold office. A statement from President Fraser Barlow is expected within the next 48 hours.

Topic: Cobra Sahara Returns to Peacetime After Years of Conflict
Date: 23/10/2024
Time: 2:17 PM

After years of intense conflict and civil unrest, the government of Cobra Sahara officially declared the nation to be in peacetime today, marking the end of a long period of violence and instability. In a statement from the Brotherly Leader and Guide of the Revolution, Muammar Gaddafi, the country celebrated the return to peace and stability after successfully defeating rebel forces and restoring government control over key regions. Following a series of decisive military victories by Cobra Saharan forces, backed by allies from Akzvoria and "Lower Nubia", the remaining rebel strongholds were neutralized, including key locations like Cairo, Sirte, and Siwa Oasis. The Cobra Sahara Liberation Rebel Forces (CSLRF), once a powerful opposition group, has been largely dismantled, with remaining fighters either captured, surrendering, or fleeing the country.

The government has pledged significant investment in rebuilding war-torn regions, including restoring critical infrastructure, housing, and services in cities such as Benghazi, Tripoli, and Alexandria. In particular, economic aid has been promised to regions heavily impacted by the conflict, with a focus on improving healthcare, education, and industry. International humanitarian organizations have also been invited to assist in the reconstruction efforts, with Gaddafi expressing openness to cooperation from neutral foreign nations.

Across the country, the news of peacetime has been met with widespread relief. Large celebrations broke out in major cities, with citizens waving flags and chanting pro-government slogans. In Tripoli, thousands gathered in the streets, chanting, "Long live the Jamahiriya!" and celebrating the return of stability. As Cobra Sahara transitions into a post-war era, Gaddafi’s government has outlined plans to focus on economic development, regional cooperation, and improving the lives of the people. With peace restored, Cobra Sahara is poised to begin the next phase of its national journey, leaving behind years of strife to focus on growth and prosperity.

Blood in the Desert
Massive firefights have erupted throughout southern Akzvoria and Cobra Sahara , where insurgencies have turned quiet desert landscapes and once peaceful villages into chaotic warzones. Fierce clashes between the highly-trained RANF (Radical African Nationalist Front) forces and the military forces of Akzvoria have led to an alarming number of casualties on both sides. The deserts, known for their scorching heat and treacherous terrain, now serve as the backdrop for brutal ambushes, relentless explosions, and violent insurgent warfare.

The Petrolian military has launched intense counteroffensives, but the RANF—now better equipped and more organized—has adopted ruthless guerrilla tactics to strike back. In the battles, RPG rounds scream through the air, targeting military installations and buildings, while Petrolian tanks pulverize Toyota technical vehicles, the preferred transport of many insurgents. These firefights are escalating to a level reminiscent of the initial RANF wave, signaling that this new conflict might soon outmatch the first.

The Battle of Tarim: Fursan al-Nar Strike
A particularly devastating battle occurred near Tarim, where the insurgent group calling themselves the Fursan al-Nar (Knights of Fire) engaged Petrolian forces. Their unit, consisting of three T-72 main battle tanks, 21 technical vehicles, and approximately 524 soldiers, inflicted significant damage over the course of a week-long battle. Urban combat raged day and night, trapping civilians caught in the crossfire. The civilian population, unable to evacuate in time, faced the dual threat of insurgent brutality and military crossfire, adding to the humanitarian crisis in the region.

The Fursan al-Nar mercilessly ravaged nearby villages, using them as resupply depots and defensive positions. However, relentless and grueling counter-attacks by Petrolian forces in the urban combat used precision artillery and coordinated ground assaults forced the insurgents into retreat. In the final stages of the battle, Petrolian forces managed to capture their commander—Tariq al-Asad, a seasoned officer who had defected from the Petrolian military to join the RANF. Tariq al-Asad’s defection and subsequent capture has sent shockwaves through the region, with the Akzvoria government now deliberating over what to do with the high-profile traitor.

Reports have also emerged of a similar battle taking place in the town of Al Hayz in Cobra Sahara, mirroring the intensity of the conflict in Akzvoria. Cobra Saharan forces are grappling with the same insurgent tactics, with the RANF leveraging their newfound strength and knowledge of the terrain to their advantage. Much like in Akzvoria, the battle in Al Hayz is an indication of the RANF's growing influence and tactical capability in the region.

Global Presence

Beyond the borders of Akzvoria and Cobra Sahara, the RANF’s influence is extending globally. A giant increase in criminal activity and trafficking linked to the RANF's drug ring led by Vikram Sinha Mahajan has been observed in Indiaxxx and RANF official's likely organizing with supporters have been sighted in The Armed Republic of Katti, Kingdom of Saint Paul and as far as the Russian Socialist Federations. Their expanding international presence is not only fueling their operational strength but is also boosting their financial backing, drawing support from sympathizers around the world and thus far being sighted in every continent.

On a global scale, the RANF’s sightings in regions like Indiaxxx and the Russian Socialist Federations reflects their increasing influence and financial backing. This has led to a rise in cross-border criminal activity and insurgent violence, presenting a significant security challenge to neighboring nations and beyond. Their ability to recruit, smuggle arms, and foster local militias could fuel further regional instability, complicating international efforts to combat terrorism and insurgency. The longer-term consequence is a more entrenched, resilient insurgency that can disrupt global trade routes and destabilize economies.

However with swift military action by the respective governments that have RANF sightings in these international countries could stop further encroachment or full insurgency unlike the nations in the middle east and southern Africa.

424 Military Casualties.

978 RANF Casualties.

824 Civilian Casualties.

Also on a OOC note, the RANF sightings in Katti, Kingdom of Saint Paul, Russian Socialist Federations are only sightings and not full insurgency. However it could evolve into one if they do not react. (If you want, you could also flat out deny RANF RP in your country, just telegram Transvaall to stop it.

The Kattian Peace Agreement & Other Ongoings of the Kattian Government

Peace Agreement reached with the KLA, RKD, and others
In a huge meeting in the nation's capital of Kinshasa, representatives of the Kongolese Liberation Army, Rally for Kongolese Democracy, and various ethnic militias, a formal peace agreement was reached between all parties. Firstly, the Kattian state shall devolve power to local assemblies, providing a stronger voice for local, ethnically-aligned representatives. Secondly, new elections are to be held, with minimal restrictions on the formation of new parties. Finally, the Kattian Central Government is to be heavily reformed, purging the remaining members of the Segregationists from the halls of government, bureaucracy, and the military.

These elections have been formally announced for the 31st of October, including local elections to the newly formed devolved governments. Thus far, multiple parties have emerged from the heap to contest these elections:

Kattian Republican Congress - Big Tent, Liberal-leaning
The current ruling party of Katti, the Kattian Republican Congress is a big tent organisation originating from the Third Kattian Revolution that overthrew the White-led Apartheid State of Katti. With members ranging from socialists to centrist liberals to conservatives, the organisation has little direction but a lot of inertia. As of recent, the centrist Liberals have managed to win power within the organisation, and have overseen huge foreign investment into Katti, with all the positives and negatives that brings. In addition, the Republicans have integrated parts of the KLA and RKD, expanding their electoral sway much further into the interior. Few believe that the Kattian Republican Congress can really lose its absolute majority in this election; rather, the true results of the election are in which factions win the most and which lose the most, alongside the performance of their external partners.

The Kattian Socialist Party - Reformist Marxism, Popular Front strategy
The Kattian Socialist Party has been present since the Second Kattian Revolution and has gone through various stages. As of now, the Kattian Socialist Party follows a (very) reformist Marxist approach, calling for the cartelisation of industry to promote investment and prepare them for future nationalisation. In addition, the Kattian Socialist Party wishes to pursue a "Popular Front strategy" - in effect, cooperating with the left and centre to ensure the steady implementation of some socialist policies to convince the working class of its effectiveness, before electoral victories eliminate the need to cooperate with the bourgeoise centre. Currently, they are predicted to make modest gains, although the lack of any inflow thanks to the recent peace agreement may harm them.

Rally for the Congolese People - Conservative, pro-Devolution
Formed from the remainder of the KLA and CKD, the Rally for the Congolese People is a deeply Conservative, ethnically diverse party with a strong presence in the nation's interior. The RCP heavily supports the devolved governments and has made this a centerpiece of their campaign, rallying support from smaller, less notable tribe and ethnic groups with Katti. They are predicted to make significant gains, although it is unlikely that they can depose the Kattian Republican Congress. At most, some political experts state that the RCP might cooperate with the Republican Congress, either indirectly or directly via a coalition, but this remains to be seen.

---------------------------------------------------------
The Formation of the Anti-Corruption and Anti-Terrorism units
With the significant investments of the Kattian state alongside foreign states, there is now significant risk of a surge in corruption with Katti. Not only that, but sightings of the RANF - a terrorist group who refused peace overtures following the end of the Kattian Civil War - places a direct threat on the infrastructure projects of the new state. Therefore, the Kattian Government officially declares the creation of the new Anti-Corruption and Anti-Terrorism units. A mixture of dedicated military soldiers, policeman, and loyal bureacrats, these units shall wipe out embezzlement, corruption, and terrorism within the Kattian state before it has time to fester.

SECURE

Akzvoria has funded local town polices and militias so towns can now resist RANF raids and attacks, Akzvoria
has also made defenses in towns and cities so it can be protected even more.

How do I have nation؟

Terrorism rises in Roentgenia

In the Roentgenian countryside, a new extremist group that calls itself "The People's Militia of Freedom", is influencing farmers through anti-Roentgenian propaganda and brainwashing them into revolting.
Hundreds of farmers marched to Roentgenia's agricultural hub, Ferdilt, on 23rd October 2024 and marched in protest, while stealing valuables from shops and massacring anyone unfortunate enough to be outside that day.

A battle between the Ferdilt Police Corps (196 in number) and the farmers (963 in number) ensued, in which the farmers were rounded up and arrested, while 17 policemen were killed and 43 heavily injured. The farmers will be tried in court for murder, mass killing, and assault.

The Roentgenian Army has deployed its troops in the countryside and is conducting a search operation for the terrorists. The troops have been given a 'shoot-on-sight' order.

Revive the Region!

Alright, folks, let’s get real. We’ve got a lot of names in the race, but I’m here to tell you why I’m your best bet. Let’s break it down, simple and straight.

◌ First off, Roentgenia I appreciate your willingness to run, but with all due respect, I can’t see you in charge of this region within this year. You’ve barely been roleplaying for a few days, and losing your password within a three-day interval of your nation’s existence isn’t the best look.

◌ Now, let’s talk about the main problem (not a compliment) Bro Kinaba. Sure, they’re dedicated to their roleplay, but let’s be honest—can we really trust someone with a history of being banned from the World Assembly and their own region? It raises a lot of eyebrows. There’s a vibe that just doesn’t sit right. Honestly, they might even be on the autism spectrum, and that’s not a jab; it’s a concern. It makes you wonder if they have the social skills and judgment to handle the complexities of leadership. We need a leader who can connect with people, not someone who seems more comfortable hiding behind a screen.

◌ Now, moving on to Navoj Dazpoly . He talks a big game, but when you scratch the surface, it’s clear he’s not cut out for this role. Sure, he’s got a "good heart" , but that’s about it. "Good intentions don’t fix a broken fence." He’s all talk and no action, folks! He’s more focused on playing nice than actually getting things done. How can we trust someone who prioritizes their image over meaningful contributions? Plus, have you seen his take on foreign relations? It’s like he’s in a completely different universe. If he becomes delegate, expect nothing new or exciting.

◌ Now, Mesothallania , our old delegate? Well, you’ve heard it before: "The proof’s in the pudding." Where was he when things started to fall apart? Sometimes, being present is half the battle. And let’s be honest—this isn’t exactly a region known for its stellar track record.

◌ Lastly,Vaspartama —there might be some creativity there, but let’s be honest, we need someone reliable. A fresh perspective is nice, but it’s not enough when it comes to leadership.

Now, here’s why I’m your guy:

● Yes, I’ve only been here a few months, but guess what? "It’s not the years, it’s the mileage." In this short time, I’ve been active, involved, and committed. I’m not here to sit on the sidelines.

● People say my language is rough. Well, let me be straight with you: I’m not here to sweet-talk anyone. I get things done. And if you think a few blunt words will stop me from making deals, you’re in for a surprise. I’ll tell it like it is—and that’s how you get respect.

● I don’t sugarcoat things, but you can always count on me to get the job done. "Better a straight answer than a sweet lie," right?

●I’ll improve our foreign relations, and while everyone seems to care about that, I’m just as interested in our internal matters. I’ll always be present to help, listen, and discuss what matters to you.

So, when you’re casting your vote, remember: If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. I’m ready to lead, and I’ll keep things moving in the right direction.

OOC:

Vaspartama WAD Campaign

by Katanga vristaadt

VASPARTAMA

F O R W A D

Why am I running?

I love Africa. This region has been like a home away from home for me for the past four years as Katanga vristaadt, Mexico trigarante, Newstettin, and Vaspartama, among others. I want the best for the region and for every nation in it. I wrote a heartfelt recruitment telegram for Africa in 2020 that was a mainstay of one of the most successful recruitment pushes in African history, where I detailed my personal reasons for loving Africa, including a thriving roleplay, friendly staff, and a vibrant and diverse community. Those reasons have not changed.

What experience do I have?

Until last year, I was part of Mombombu's staff. I made the (old) regional Discord when I first joined Africa and was in charge of everything from recruitment telegrams to roleplay moderation during the four years.

Why am I no longer a part of staff?

I've had some disagreements with Mombombu in the past and the staff has found replacements for the functions I did. It's a shame, because my loyalty has never wavered, but you play with the cards you've been dealt.

What are my promises?

This won't be a popular message, but neither I nor anyone else can really change much. The staff do things a certain way and don't want to change that. These elections are a way to let off steam because tension has been building between roleplayers and the staff about the decisions that they've made among themselves. I've been among them long enough to know how things work. (I'm not saying they're wrong to do so; if you're a part of the region, you accept the way things are done.) Anyone who is promising a lot of stuff is either lying through their teeth, has no experience with Africa's regional government, or is in the pockets of the staff. You know who the lackeys are and what they have to gain by claiming everything is just peachy.

I've been wounded before and so have you, and my big promise is that I will stick up for everyone who feels like their best interests haven't been represented. As far as the role of WAD goes, I'll execute it as best as I can in the best interests of the region, but the reason you should elect me is to see someone with experience in the staff who still cares about the little guy.

What do I see as the failures of the region as it stands?

The biggest problem is that nothing's happening that should be happening. The staff claims everything is fine, but war mods and other roleplay-related things just aren't getting done and the staff makes mind-bogglingly biased decisions. This campaign operates on three main principles:

1) Just because you say you're doing something in private doesn't mean that the region sees things getting done, and that's what matters.

2) Laws may be fair and enforced by impartial actors and still result in bias if applied circumstantially.

3) The staff is insular and incestuous (isolated from the community and working mostly for each others' benefit) to the detriment of roleplayers.

If you feel like one or all of these things have hurt you, then my campaign is designed for you.

Why me? Why not the other candidates?

Bro Kinaba is a great mod with lots of skills and knowledge. He is also slimy and perfidious. I stuck my neck out for him when he was expelled from the region and he brought down the axe himself. Hence why he's where he is right now and why I am where I am. He's a swamp creature who shouldn't be elevated to such a position. Moreover, he's in the current staff's pockets more than anyone else.

I have nothing bad to say about Lunar sand. I think he's identified the same problems I have and wants to represent the downtrodden just as much as I do. However, he has no experience in Africa's staff and doesn't know how things work. Mesothallania may be making an ass of himself on the Discord in decrying Lunar sand's campaign, but he is right that things work a certain way and that going against the grain is unlikely to result in success.

Roentgenia has been roleplaying in Africa for a grand total of two days (I don't know if he has any previous nations here, haha). Again, I have experience on staff but have also been burned by them (very recently, too). Roentgenia hasn't experienced that... I mean, is a nation that starts roleplaying the week of WAD elections really a roleplayer at all?

Navoj Dazpoly is a great roleplayer and very active despite his recency. There's nothing to complain about. Again, he hasn't actually been on the staff before, although he is exactly the kind of person who would excel there. All the same, does he have a reason to care about the beleaguered nations who have suffered from maladministration? Not really.

What will I do that the other candidates can't?

Besides having experience on staff which gives me an insight into the region that the others except for Bro Kinaba lack, I have a very close relationship to India and will strengthen The Raindrop Pact cooperation and bonds.

"going against the grain is unlikely to result in success."
explain the 11 to 3 votes for me Vaspartama. I think you would say I'm with the grain but if you ask all the people voting for Mesothallania I think they would disagree heavily... it's because I can go against it and people will respect that, any of the other candidates are too afraid or not well respected enough to make changes. meanwhile me? different story. I will bring real and lasting change.

I just wanted to say this because of all this guys trash talking. I mean just look at the debate and tell me who can answer the questions effectively.

Green Hired

Report from 'The S. Paul Spectator'

THURS. 24 OCT. ─ Saint Paul City ─ Ross Green, former General Chaumer backbencher standing with the Labour Party in the last two Chaumers sittings, has been hired as the King's Adviser on National Security at the orders of His Majesty himself. The popular politician hopes to make a splash in the role and help weld it into a more modern, civic position and away from Army oversight. Commenting on the surprise appointment, Ross Green himself said "[he] hope[s] to bounce right into the job and give it [his] all." The Department of the Home spoke that it saw Mr. Green as a "forward-thinking, independent-minded, and a figure uniquely needed in our uncertain times."

What Mr. Green will bring in and, more importantly, see done to the Adviser's spot remains to be seen.

Comments

The R.A.N.F. is a post-truth movement that puts many populists to shame. They and their views ought to have no relevance or appeal in the Kingdom, yet it is through their ideological manoeuvering that they seduce populaces. Their presence is minimal, but the concern regarding it must always be higher than that. ─ Lord D.R. Lirquhart, Depute Secretary of the Exterior

Appointment of R. Green as K. Adviser on Nat. Sec. ought to placate worries that their PR will be better than the Kingdom's. ─ His Majesty the King, James XI Stuart

As recommended by HM the King, Ross Green as His Majesty's National Security Adviser will bring a sweet-talking and charismatic man to counter a movement reliant on sly smiles. ─ F.W. Chishart, Depute Secretary of the Home

THE PROBLEM WITH REFUGEES

Are Middle Eastern Refugees Disrupting the Peace?

As the war rages on in the middle east, thousands of immigrants from Akzvoria, Maghrebbiya and even Indopersia seek asylum in mostly the Swedish country.

However, this leads to a problem. Many of these refugees have been seen disrupting the peace, for example petty crimes like pickpocketing, vandalism and even burglary.

Extreme cases commited by refugees involve assault, armed robbery, murder and in very rare cases, (...). in certain areas around Metro Stockholm. Many Scandinavian civillians are questioning whether these refugees should continue to be allowed to take asylum in Scandinavia.

The Representative to the EU Temun Kazradinovič, a Bosnian Muslim has expressed his disinterest towards denying asylum for Middle Eastern refugees, saying that "theres nowhere else they can go".

We don't expect a response from Mr. Töpal as he hasnt done a public statement in 4 months.
