As for the pirates of old, I'll have to do some research on that subject. Today we equate pirates as lawless criminals, but back then they were state sponsored thugs to harrass trade, if I am correct. They were the navy of the home state between wars. In the case of the Bahamas, they were British sailors harrassing American, French and Spanish traders, if I recall. Like I say, that subject would require a refresher on my part. It's been a very long time since I was in school.
