In light of the most recent World Assembly Security Council Resolution Commending The MT Army.

As the leader of The MT Army, and having been leader since its creation in 2003, I would like to express our gratitude for the commendation granted to our region. We are flattered and humbled by this acknowledgement, and wish to thank everyone who took part in the vote, no matter which side you cast it on, we enjoy seeing democracy in action, and what a nail biter this one was!

Contrary to what is commonly believed, The MT Army has not always been a well organised region. It began as a group of young friends learning about politics through NationStates in a region called Mariner Trench. Not so long after we began playing, the founding members of Mariner Trench, were alerted to and saw evidence of mass bullying and the promotion of hate by raiding Nazi regions.

We decided to take a stand, forming The MT Army in response to what we saw as injustice. For years we have continued that fight, collecting members from all over the world, collaborating with other like-minded and active regions, and evolvingThe MT Army’s standpoint of today.

We are incredibly proud of the example we set in the early to mid 2000’s of which has inspired many generations of NationStates players to stand up against Nazi aggression and shun their promotion of hate speech.

The achievements of The MT Army could not have been accomplished without our mighty warriors and I extend warmest thanks to all the following:

I’d just like to conclude by addressing some of the opposite viewpoints presented in the forums and RMB about The MT Army. Firstly I believe many opposing parties found it difficult to separate The MT Army (region being commended) from the multi-organisational region known as Antifa. They also find it difficult to separate real world Antifa with the NationStates community Antifa.

Suffice to say that The MT Army has not been a participant in the ‘assaults’ on specific regions listed in those posts and we’ve taken care not to become the ‘monsters’ they mention. Additionally, speculation that members of the MT Army have real-life involvement with specific political groups are unfounded and undeserved.

Further, The MT Army does not have a unifying political ideology, and is made up of many nations with differing views on economics and politics. It would be inaccurate to say that we are a communist organisation.

Under my current administration, Antifa is not an army that fights for communistic ideals. Does it welcome those who support communism? Absolutely. It is an organisation open to ANY regions who wish to fight Nazis and Fascists on NationStates. The over representation of Communist armies in Antifa is due to the fact that historically, and at present, communist regions are much more proactive in directly fighting this particular type of enemy. If you want that to change, please feel free to join up.

To those who say I have something to hide, because as a leader I don’t disclose my political beliefs on NationStates. I would like to finish by saying that a truly successful organisation is not fuelled by the political beliefs of one leader but by the values that unite all its members. In acknowledging this, the MT Army has, and will, continue to grow in the future.
