The Evening Courier - Government Newspaper

Forces loyal to the king have launched an invasion into the Toraist stronghold in Nastavak. With the army now fully reformed and combat ready, Zrinko III estimates that the war will be over shortly as "an untrained militia cannot defeat an organized military."

In other news, some Sarvanians, wanting to escape the fighting, have taken up the Anthacian government's offer to house refugees. Additionally, humanitarian aid packages from Anthacia have also arrived and are currently being distributed to those affected by the fighting.

Struggle - Toraist Newspaper

With our Toraist worker's battalions now fully organized and armed, we plan to mount an effective resistence against Zrinko III's advance by turning it into a slaughter, exchanging land for kills.

But that is not our main story. A Jukuru S-9, Ulutor's "latest" and "most advanced" fighter in the world, has been brought down by our AA defenses. Not only that, it was shot down by a TA-521 surface-to-air missile system, designed in 2010! Josip Borsita, our revolution's leader and a military man himself, said in an interview, "A competent opponent can improvise ways to overcome superior weaponry because every technology has weaknesses that can be identified and exploited." Davor Bojević, our military's leader, said in an interview "We've already sent Empress Anashara a letter saying 'Sorry, we didn't know it was new!'" and he also said that they sent the Toraist forces in Palanche the method of shooting the Jukuru S-9 down through a "secure and reliable, but classified, source".

Pieces from the shot down Jukuru S-9 are now currently on display at Ropaoud Park in Nastavak for the public to view.

Umm there are no jukuru's in Sarvania. We sent the old planes.

Aoraki News

The Anthacian government has begun taking in refugees fleeing the civil war in Sarvania.

Anthacia has also opened this invitation to those wishing to escape violence in Palanche due to the simultaneous ongoing civil war.

Additional humanitarian aid packages and supplies destined for both countries continue to be sent out, however naval authorities have begun to become worried that the ships will be fired upon when attempting to dock.

Protests outside of the Greystone House today as picketers gathered from across the political spectrum to voice their complaints against President Todd's apparent refusal to try and roll-back some of the surveillance laws passed during his first term. Originally passing it off as Todd's paranoia coupled with his history in intelligence work only worked for so long, and now it's finally starting to grate on the nerves of the populace; as it was revealed that Todd's programs were meant to be preventive Just like how medicine is designed to prevent illness and make you take less doctor visits, many now believe Todd's program is meant to be "politically" preventive, with people being analyzed based on media posts and phone calls to determine whether someone is on the verge of committing an act of violence upon themselves or others. This plan does have it's supporters among the Right and Left; many do feel as if these laws go a bit too far into prying into the privacy of the populace. President Todd has given a promise to speak about this issue on a later date, and just like his laws, it has been recorded visually and audibly of him both signing and speaking his promise to speak about this matter to both the populace and the Congress. Many feel that he can no longer back out.

GASCAR Young Blood Week Over

KIT Special Edition

GASCAR, after this year's Young Blood Week, is truly living up to its name.

Six new nationalities are now being represented in GASCAR; drivers from Marollia, Glorianay, Nedporen, North Nebraska, Calcaterra, and Valirria have passed Young Blood Week and are now set to get their first rides in 2060. More Ulutorian drivers are also set to race in GASCAR.

That now means that 14 nationalities are being represented; along with the ones we previously mentioned, there's Skahyahn, Bonple, Sozkana, Lapod, Alaback, Anthacia, Zambet Fata and Senora. With 35 nations on Tierra, that means almost 40% of the world's population are being represented in the world's premier racing sanctioning body.

Although we'd love to showcase all the new drivers and nationalities entering our great sport, we're limited to only featuring the top five drivers that earned rides in GASCAR from this year's Young Blood Week.

1. Assunto Lovera

Lovera, from Marollia, is a former open wheel racer. Although he is generally considered a great driver, bad luck has plagued his open wheel career. He started in 58 races, never winning a single one and also never winning any championships in his open wheel career. This was mainly due to car problems, as he has a great driving style. He found greater success in GT racing, and now he's decided that closed wheel cars are for him, hence, GASCAR.

He has many years of racing experience under his belt, we here at KIT predict that Lovera will place high in the points.

2. Geoffrey Pacifica

Pacifica, from Glorianay, is a jack of all trades. He's raced in sprint, GT, open wheel, motorcycles, and low series stock cars. Although he hasn't found much success in open wheel and motorcycles, he developed a strong career in sprint and GT, winning three sprint championships and five GT championships. He's also raced in a few local stock car races, winning a couple.

A successful career for sure, however he's had some growing pains during Young Blood Week, smacking into the wall during the first race at the academy's track, totaling his car. Still, in the other two races he placed highly, earning him a ride for the 2060 season.

3. Dolan Hill

Dolan Hill, from Calcaterra, has been making his way up Calcaterra's racing scene slowly but surely since 2053. He's saw small successes here and there, including winning Calcaterra's most prestigious stock car race, the North West City Shootout.

He, among other Calcaterrican stock drivers, decided to try their hand at the big league. Hill, along with a few Calcaterricans, were able to secure rides. A passionate promoter of all forms of racing, media savvy, articulate, and attractive, he possesses the driving skills that could see a Calcaterrican bring home the world cup.

4. Ugori Najatomo

Najatomo, from Ulutor, is the definition of an adrenaline junkie. His love for speed saw him pursuing a career in racing, but after a couple years in stock cars he grew bored of racing on cookie cutter tracks, and soon joined the air force just in time for the Archipelago War. Achieving the rank of a flying ace, with Ulutor now at peace and no new combat in site, Najatomo resigned from the air force and got his way into the Young Gun Week. Using driving tactics he learned during his time on dirt and aerodynamics tactics he learned in the air force, he secured himself a ride for the 2060 season. Whether or not he'll displace Prakash Kapadia as the most popular Ulutorian driver remains to be seen, but with Najatomo's military background, Kapadia's going to have to race hard if he wants to stay relevant.

5. Dave Reinhart

Reinhart is a muscle/stock car racer from North Nebraska, whose father, Ronald Reinhart, was a dirt track racing legend. He's raced as a replacement driver for various GASCAR drivers since 2057, and now he's ready to race in the big league as a full time driver. Will he follow in his father's footsteps and become a short track legend? Or will he develop his own racing style? Only time will tell.

The Evening Courier - Government Newspaper

The government forces entrapped at the city of Donjce are keeping up the fight while Zrinko III has announced that his plan to backup the troops in Donjce will be a great success. "Thanks to a combination of artillery, bombings, and missiles we've softened up Toraist troops in suburbs of the city." He added that, after the Toraists are defeated in Donjce, the road will open up to the city Veterševac, the main center of the Toraist rebellion.

When asked why the government forces haven't just bore down with their full might, Zrinko III said, "Others say; ‘Why do we not fight more quickly?’, Because I do not want a second Kroměno. I prefer to fight with small assault parties. Time makes no difference here. No ship comes to aid the Toraists. Ships come to aid us. That is what is decisive!”

No word from the government about the supposed "shoot down" of a, as the Toraists claim, "Jukuru S-9" aside from "What the Ulutorians told the world, we don't have any Jukuru S-9's on record".

Struggle - Toraist Newspaper

Our revolutionary militias have managed to put a halt to the corrupt prince's offensive. By using the element of surprise, we were able to entrap the majority of the prince's army in the city of Donjce. We encourage the citizens of Donjce to take up arms against the entrapped forces, and Borsita has promised and citizens in Donjce that take up arms against the prince will receive an Order of National Liberation medal for their services once the city has been liberated.

Using the Donjce's relatively free airspace during the night (The Government's air force refuses to fly over the city during the night- a clear sign of their leader's incompetence) Toraist planes drop leaflets to the entrapped government soldiers, saying "Either continue resisting and die, or surrender and go home." Some leaflets even tell government soldiers to take up arms against their commanders and join the Toraists.

In other news, Josip Borsita personally visited the ruins of the shot down Jukuru S-9 at Ropaoud Park. When asked by a reporter if he thinks that it really was a Jukuru S-9 that was shot down, Borsita simply pointed at the ruins and said "the evidence speaks for itself."

Chinern News

The CNV Aneka, an Aneka-class nuclear submarine, has gone missing. The last transmission from the nuclear sub was a few thousand miles south of Chinern. A search is underway for the submarine, which disappeared during a normal training exercise. It is highly likely that they will not be recovered, but we must maintain hope. Several destroyers and submarine hunters have been dispatched to find the submarine.

The Fall of Eumers

Nationalist forces have driven the Toraist forces from the Black-Gold tower, pushing them back to Laysend Square, a once large commercial zone back during the reign of the monarchy and was later refit into a residential area once the Toraists took power in the 2030s. The PNF attempted to fortify the tower and its surrounding area, but failed to do so due to the structure being too badly damaged and nearly caving in on itself when nationalist forces entered.

The forces of the PNF then advanced on to Laysend Square where they met the remaining Toraist forces, that had been nearly cut in half after the battle at the tower. Reinforcements were underway for both sides since, despite being outnumbered nearly 2:1 the Toraist fighters put up one helluva fight due to the presence of the Chinernian marines who managed to help them cut down PNF forces by over 100,000~. Toraist forces managed to hold out for a few weeks until the massive force of 600,000~ men arrived, which managed to push the PNF back to the tower, where they used the trenches dug by the PTR to holdout for reinforcements, numbering at around 400,000~.

Once they arrived, utter chaos ensued. Tanks rolled down every street, buildings collapsing left and right, even the Black-Gold tower itself, the oldest standing structure in Palanche fell to the chaos. This went on for months, until the PTR forces pulled out, with Halkon Jumir himself stating "Why fight over a smoking pile of rubble? What of value is left there? The city has been destroyed, and will most likely never be rebuilt, and will most definitely never be restored to its former glory.". PTR forces then retreated further north, setting ablaze the remaining structures in Toraist-held Eumers.
Just about all of the city was destroyed, with only the smallest most insignificant buildings surviving. Bunkers were buried under rubble, their inhabitants doomed to stay there for eternity. No buildings were shown mercy by the constant bombing runs either side, not even hospitals, shelters, or schools. President Erik Bluscha commented on the event, calling it a "Massive waste of resources and human life.".

It's estimated that 90% of the city was destroyed, nothing more than rubble from once-great skyscrapers and ordinary buildings. And that out of the city's civilian population of 21,578,254 only around 6,000,000 survived.

Military casualties:

PNF: 1,324,000~
PTR: 1,190,500‬~

The Evening Courier - Government Newspaper

Zrinko III's offensive to relieve the government forces entrapped at the city of Donjce is going "swimmingly" according to official sources. Soldiers are confident that Zrinko III is a strong military commander, and will carry the offensive to a successful end, relieving their trapped comrades. Already, some suburbs in the north of the city have been captured, and Zrinko III said that the Toraists have two options; give themselves up, or flee.

One government soldier, on his way to the front line, told us that "I'm happy at the thought that the war's end is getting nearer; that's what everyone is saying."

King Antali VII has issued an order to all government forces fighting on the front line - "Destroy the Traitors". The phrase is now being adopted by the military as an unofficial motto, being painted on tanks, helmets, and everything in between.

Struggle - Toraist Newspaper

The Evening Courier is not reporting the actual situation in Donjce. Which makes sense, considering no government soldier that goes into the city comes out alive!

Personal testimonies from our soldiers show a much more brutal scene- the government commanders throw their soldiers at us, and they have to wade through their own dead. So much so that our soldiers are calling Donjce the "Mass Grave of the Royal Army".

This phrase has been adopted by the Toraist Worker Battalions, with the Scythe- the tool of the Grim Reaper- being etched into soldier's Golinheart 53. Newly secured from Dundina in Ankraid where it has shown it's worth in numerous conflicts, it's able to put hard-hitting rounds down range at a ridiculous speed- while being ridiculously accurate, something which rifles in the past have failed to do.

Davor Bojević, our military's leader, said in an interview "The Golenheart 53's firing mechanism is simple, which caused a lot of armies in the past to reject it. But in my opinion, simplicity that doesn't sacrifice performance is a bloody blessing in war."

A Fuel To Replace Bioline? Catastrophic Failure Leads To A Car That Changes Everything

Zambet Fata is a large country, nobody can deny that, and as such citizens need a hardy car that can drive thousands of miles and not suffer performance. Additionally, those cars need a fuel to make it those thousands of miles.

The Bolt Intrapid was intended to be that car. And for the first 70,000 miles, it was. After that, problems began to arise. At first it was increased fuel- Bioline- consumption. Then it was the values, then the other parts of the engine. Then, the engine failed suddenly.

Consumers and consumer advocacy groups filed five separate class action lawsuits against Bolt for the problem. Bolt, after inspecting new Intrapid's and ones that suffered and are suffering the problem, found the problem. Bioline, a fuel that replaced gasoline and batteries as the main fuel of the world, is the root cause of the problem. But how? How is this fuel that has powered the world for over a decade causing the problem?

Bioline is great. An excellent replacement for conventional gasoline, it's widely credited with the drastic cut in carbon emissions. But Bolt found out the hard way it's not without failure. In extreme temperatures, below 10 °F and above 100 °F, Bioline can gel or solidify. At first it's not bad; but overtime, especially in places like Zambet Fata where extreme temperatures are commonplace, the solidified or gelled Bioline builds up in the engine, choking the engine of fuel, and according to Bolt, "often results in catastrophic failure of the engine."

Bolt, along with Panzerfirma, and the Ministry of Transportation and the Foundation for Research & Science in Zambet Fata have spent years upon years developing a fuel to replace diesel. For those that don't know, diesel is used in trucks, tractors, tanks, some trains, and even some aircraft. Panzerfirma figured out how to make a car that runs on diesel practical, so they have experience in the field. Bolt, on the other hand, went bankrupt trying to salvage the failure of the Intrapid's engine problem and pouring too much money into the project. Several companies came out of this, most notably the Kistler Company, who bought the rights to the Intrapid.

In a press conference, Kurj Bonyfak (CEO of Kistler) announced to the world that the project had finally paid off. "Ladies and gentlemen" he said, "Today, we're proud to announce a replacement to Bioline. Konvoline, or Konvo for short."

Shortly after, the curtain behind Bonyfak lifted, revealing an all new car, called the Kistler Intrepid. A complete design of the old model, it's the first car to run on Konvoline, its already began mass production. Consumers are unsure, but so far it looks like a massive improvement to the old car.

Reaction by car companies world wide was a collective shrug. A new alternative for Bioline? How long will this attempt last? Well, a lot longer than past attempts. Why? Konvoline might not completely replace Bioline, but in tests, it has shown its superiority. On top of this, since Konvoline was developed in part by the Zambet Fatan government, Konvoline has absolutely no copyright attached to it. So, quite literally anybody can use it.

A lot of companies based around distributing and selling Konvoline have formed. Particularly KonvoCo, which has partitioned GASCAR to have Konvoline run at the races as the official fuel.
