Agletgreenia, I only made that statement because it's true most of all, but also because it is required to be in the local council.

Beepee, besides my telegram to you, this is my very public statement that I freaking love this region, and have no conflict of interest in running for the local council. I'm an OG my peeps, check my post from over a decade ago.

Nothing wrong with that! I'm running, too! (I live in New York City and was inspired by the fact that we now have 22 people running for mayor.) Obviously I'm just doing it to see how the process works and will be with okay with however I do-- I simply don't have the name recognition to even get out of the first round-- but I find the spirit of The South Pacific to be great. I do not see any other region of this size and activity still being so open and friendly to new players like myself. It's really a blast to be here.

Oh I forgot to add: good luck to you! If you're one of the reasons TSP is so nice, then thank you!

As per the one stop rules shop in moderation, it’s flamebaiting.

Flamebaiting: Posts that are made with the aim of angering someone indirectly. Not outright flame, but still liable to bring angry replies. Flame baiting is a far more subtle and covert action; it is an underhanded tactic that is designed to provoke a response from another player. It's in the same context of trolling but with flamebaiting it's just the one person.

Also included under flamebaiting is malicious quote editing, changing the contents of a quoted post without showing the original text, either through color changes or strike-out.

Auphelia: The Queen Returns!

Welcome back to my world, children.

By now, we all know how these elections work, yes? The candidates make their positions known, court your votes, and we see where everything lands as the polls go on. It is a time honoured tradition, and one that I am quite pleased to take part in again. However, on occasion there can be nastiness in these elections. Tomfoolery! Rudeness! Some may say it is politics as usual, that it is the duty of politicians to denigrate one another in order to take out the competition.

Shall we begin at . . . the beginning?

Good.

As some of you may know, I am the longest serving Local Councillor in TSP history, having so far held a seat at the table for five terms. I possess the experience required to be a Councillor as well as a clear record of success in improving the RMB from where it was in my first term.

Under my leadership and in cooperation with my esteemed colleagues across the many iterations of the Council I have endured, trolls and spammers have been quelled in record numbers, with thorough and effective safeguards against these evils being put in place to make TSP a safer community for us all to thrive in. Even such scourges as Amerion have been contained through my expertise and unrivalled skill.

Now we shall proceed with what you have all been waiting for: my platform and list of reasons to vote for me. I am a woman of principles. I have a core set of beliefs that you can be assured I will pursue with all possible power in your name. Promises and programmes that will make our beautiful gameside stronger and more robust than ever before! See, my sweet chickadees? I shall provide for you things you never knew you needed.

Let the charade commence! Because I love my voters -

Double Posting

A truly terrible thing. Either think through your post carefully to add what you want to be in your post before posting, bother to edit your post, or simply wait for someone else to post. There is no reason to double post and it is a prime tool of spammers that is all-too-often taken advantage of. If elected, I will discuss with my fellow Councillors the process of strengthening our laws against this scourge.

Trolls

Hideous creatures, foully polluting the cultural purity of our fair board. It is absolutely unacceptable that we should provide safe harbour to these criminals and miscreants who would seek to disrupt our pleasant and peaceful way of life.

Rest assured that with Auphelia on the Local Council, vigilance and ruthlessness will be key aspects of my tenure, to be fully utilised against anyone that disturbs you, my sweet children. And speaking of vigilance . . .

Connections

Every Councillor needs their group, a posse with which to keep eyes and ears all over the RMB. They need the trust of the community if they want to be kept abreast of all the goings on. As a member of the Geriatric League, I have the full resources of curmudgeonly old-timers with nothing better to do with their lives. As a long-time Councillor, I have connections with many former Councillors. And as a prominent member of TSP's thriving black market blackmailing and bribery rings, I have unparalleled to our Delegate Beepee and your Supreme Leader Amerion.

Cooperation

Councillors live and die by their ability to work together with their fellow Councillors. After five terms serving alongside various players whose views have at times been extremely close and extremely incongruous with my own, I have long since demonstrated my ability to work civilly with anyone who happens to serve alongside me. No matter who sits on the Council, I will work in earnest with them to create a beautiful future for all TSPers.

Longevity

No matter what, you people keep pulling me back. This community has engendered the strangest sense of familiarity with me and I cannot thank you all enough for that. No matter how many times I must step down due to term limits, I will always come back for you. It is not often that Councillors disappear during their terms, but it has happened; you will never have to wonder where I am (it's likely right behind you with a knife).

Ruthlessness

I can be vindictive.

Cruel.

Monstrous.

We have many kind people running for Local Council, and many of them are truly delightful people. However, every Council needs someone who will suppress what needs to be suppressed without hesitation. Someone who will bring down the wrath of the CRS or Mods when it is necessary. Someone who will brook no disrespect from trolls or any other manner of spammer or vagrant that comes across our board. Drystar has served that roll admirably in my absence, but there is only one woman that can do what I do: me.

Polls

My one vice is the poll, that most beloved of TSP natural features. Effortlessly eclectic, my large catalogue of more than 200 TSP polls are available to you, and I intend in my next term to expand that to give you all more content and more choices! Never shall the polls go empty with Auphelia back on the Council, with all of the polling powers that come with it.

So when it comes time to vote in the upcoming elections . . .

Next thing, we need someone who isn't a yes man. Let's be honest, everyone who has anything to do with TSP politics don't really oppose anything unless everyone doesn't like it. For instance, screw puppies, kittens are better.

It would be funny for a Monarch to be democratically elected. Also, we need new people in the office of Local Council.

Worry is only a feeling you have when you don't know the outcome. I'm in the 1st round and have no doubt of my eventual last-place outcome. So perhaps I'm a bit sad and disappointed, but not worried at all! Still, I had fun running and I have no regrets; it was fun to learn how the process worked.

Also, I have contented myself with the knowledge that in a few days I'll be getting a few awards anyway, such as the Cygnet Award, COB award (top 50), and Swan Knight award. I've endorsed 500+ people, and knowing I've helped out TSP is good enough for me!

I am not chasing #1. Not even top 10. Ranking isn't that important to me. Right now all I'm trying to do is finish my season 1 legendary collection.

If you're trying to be the best, you have to inflate cards. I don't inflate cards. Period. I profit off others' inflations, but my central goal is to prove that you don't have to inflate cards to be among the top card players in the game. I won't ever be number 1 with this strategy and I am at peace with that - I'm just showing what's possible.
