Who Am I?

I would like to ask that question to you! Who Am I? From the books and encyclopedias that are stacked in the libraries of the nation, it seems like we are known as Treekidistan. The records say that Treekidistan is a nation in the region of TSP, who is a mildly active RMBer, Roleplayer and a fellow member in the Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Events.

What can I do?

I do think I am creative. I haven't brought up any ideas in The South Pacific except the promises in the previous Minister of Culture Campaign. I had planned a Regional Soccer Tournament in this vast region and the idea was handed to the Minister of Culture, who has been thinking of the idea.

What experience do you have in RPs?

This is something I really like, I have been part of the NS Sporting community and has been actively taking part in the events from 2017. Which means I have been around in Roleplaying for almost three years. From an excellent Newbie in Sports, I have slowly transformed into an active, known (either in good or bad reputation) sporting nation in the community. I have also taken part in region-based roleplay from the day I have started playing Nationstates.

Support me for the LC!

There are over five to ten nations participating for the Local Councillor position. I am new to the LC elections in the region, I hope I can win this against the other participants. But, how can you help me in my campaigns? I am not saying to change a flag or post words regarding my campaign. You could just change your Motto into "Treek for LC!" or "Treekidistan; the next councillor!". Don't forget to upvote this dispatch and even if you don't support me please upvote.

The Purple Hyacinth Talk

1) Why do you want to run for LC?
Ans. What is the purpose of LC?What are the duties of a Local Councillor? The LC is the backbone of the region, they play a major role in the region and it's activity and I do plan to get more active here and have interesting events or maybe activities after being part of the council.

2) Why do you think you would be a good LCer? What would be your weakness as an LCer?
Ans. That's a good question, I think and I'm sure that I could be useful to the region after being part of the council. I'm sure I will be able to handle the large crowd in the region and be helpful for those who needs help. One of my weakness as the LCer will be unavailability on specific times like I'm from India in RL and a majority of nations are part of the Americas and the Europe which will be experiencing day while I sleep, the coordination between the time zones will be a great problem between you and me.

3) What is your history in NationStates?
Ans. I have been playing this game for over four years, if specific I started playing this on 20th November of Twenty Sixteen. I have just been part of TSP for about two to four months. Almost the whole of my NS History can be found in my CoI.

4) What do you like and what do you dislike about the RMB right now?
Ans. The RMB is too active I must say because I have been part of UCRs for these whole four years and I haven't been able to be part of a very active RMB. The RMB is really good and I don't find any loopholes currently.

5) Are there any changes you would like to implement as an LCer?
I have dozens of Ideas in my mind as I said in the campaign dispatch. They're something which needs implementation. I hope something great will happen with those ideas. I'm sure with two things, the ideas may get implemented or will get ditched.

6) Any other thoughts?
I have something more to say. But, I don't know what is it.

Conflict of Interest

Now let us move to the main part of the dispatch: The Conflict of Interest. Here I will be listing out some of my major puppets and about them.

Main Nation: Indusse
Indusse is my main nation, which was founded on 20th November 2016. The nation has been resident of India for the past 4 years contributing heavily for the regions development. Elected World Assembly Delegate four times and is now the delegate again in two terms in a row. Total of more that 605 days of Delegacy. The Founder Account of the 9 years 11 month old region is also controlled by me.

Puppets: There are a dozen of puppets, I'm disclosing some of them here. They are Southern palm islands, Echoslavia, Indusinbad, New Indusse, Petrixia, Shadowstorer, Robostania, Globulus States, Republic of Indusse and the handed down nations of Nirupama and Asiatic Conservative Islands.

Posts handled currently are: World Assembly Delegate and Founder of India (Indusse,Nirupama), Foreign Affairs Secretary in Melayu Archipelago(Southern Palm Islands), Security Councillor in Southfield (The region had 100 members before, now I'm the only active guy.. bruh..)(Echoslavia), Head Skald in Frjalsfjord (Indusinbad), Gatekeeper at India's Parliament and Puppet Storage (New Indusse), Minister of Recruitment in Union of Democrats (Shadowstorer), Minister of Home Affairs in Hive (Robostania), Prosecutor General in Lisseum (Globulus States), Minister of International Relations in Fylkirvegr (Republic of Indusse) and King and part of Benelux Triarchy in Arnhem (Asiatic Conservative Islands).
I also add this dispatch to the CoI, the dispatch isn't updates still it will be useful.. Here!

Local Council Elections Act

An act establishing elections for office

...

3. Candidate Eligibility

(1) A candidate may only run for one seat on the Local Council.

(2) Candidates must receive and accept a nomination on the Regional Message Board from a member of The South Pacific that is not their own account or controlled or accessible by the candidate nominated. The acceptance post must quote the nominating post in full and mention the Election Commissioner using nation tags. Nominations and declined nominations need not tag the Election Commissioner.

(3) To be eligible, a candidate must be a member of The South Pacific, and all candidates must file a full Conflict of Interest disclosure to the Election Commissioner, fully listing all nations they control and can access and disclosing any positions held in other regions.

(4) The Election Commissioner shall share the Conflict of Interest Disclosure with the Council on Regional Security to allow a security check.

(5) The CRS can prevent any candidate from running if they deem them to be a security threat.

(6) Candidates shall publicly post their Conflict of Interest disclosure in a dispatch, which may be their campaign dispatch. At the request of the candidate The Minister of Defence may authorize the waiving of the public disclosure of nations participating in South Pacific Special Forces operations. In such cases the public disclosure should state that SPSF participating nations are not listed as authorized by the Minister of Defense. The Minister of Defence shall confirm this by sending confirmation to the Election Commissioner.

(7) If, at any time before the election is certified, the Election Commissioner or the Council on Regional Security determines a candidate's Conflict of Interest Disclosure is not fully truthful, or the CRS determines a candidate represents a security threat, the candidate will be disqualified from the election.

(8) An intentional deception or omission in a Conflict of Interest, or knowingly abetting in another's claims to a false identity, wherein this fraud threatens the security of The South Pacific, or circumvents the laws and legal processes of The South Pacific, including the electoral process described in this Act, shall constitute Identity Fraud and be subject to referral for prosecution by the Election Commissioner or Council on Regional Security.

(9) Any Local Councilor can serve a maximum of two consecutive terms. If they serve that maximum, they must wait for one full term before they can run in a regularly scheduled election for the Local Council again. Any member of cabinet must wait one full Local Council term after leaving the cabinet before they can run in a regularly scheduled election for the Local Council.

4. Election Process

(1)Prior to the opening of the first voting period of the LC election, there will be a period of three days where members can nominate candidates, and candidates can accept nominations, which will commence after a region-wide telegram sent by the Election Commissioner announcing the opening of nominations. This will be followed by three days where candidates can campaign, which will commence after a region-wide telegram sent by the Election Commissioner announcing the close of nominations and start of the campaign.

(2) The election will consist of two on site polls, open to Native World Assembly members, each lasting three days. The first past the post winner of the first poll will be elected onto the Local Council, and all remaining candidates will move on to the second poll, where the top two candidates will be elected.

(3) If there are three candidates or fewer, all candidates will be automatically elected. Electees shall fill any remaining spaces on the Local Council under the terms outlined in Article 5 of this Act.

(4) Re-open nominations (RON) must be an option on both normal voting periods. If there are more than eleven candidates running, elimination rounds shall take place to reduce the field of candidates proceeding to the two normal voting rounds to eleven as follows
a. If there are exactly twelve candidates then a three day elimination poll, open to Native World Assembly members, will be conducted with the top eleven vote-receiving candidates continuing onto the set of normal voting periods.
b. If there are more than twelve candidates, the field will be split into three day elimination polls, open to Native World Assembly members, with the top eleven vote-receiving candidates over all such polls proceeding to the two normal voting rounds.

(5) In the event of a tie, all tied candidates will be elected unless the number of Local Councilors is greater than three, in which case there will be a separate three day poll for the tied candidates.

(6) In the event of RON winning a poll, any candidates elected prior to that poll will be allowed to take their place on the Local Council without running again, and the nominations would re-open for the remaining places.

(7) In the event a candidate who has won a round but is later disqualified by the Election Commissioner or the Council on Regional Security, that round’s results are voided and a new round shall be added.

(8) Members of the South Pacific Special Forces who are on deployment for the whole duration of the regional poll are eligible to cast a vote prior to the end of the poll. The Minister of Defence shall provide a list of deployed personnel to the Election Commissioner. Members on the list who send the Commissioner their vote through a telegram and a public post on the Regional Message Board which tags the Election Commissioner and notes who their vote goes towards shall have it added to the final tally.
a. Candidates for Local Council may request the list of deployed personnel from the Election Commissioner for the campaign purposes.

(9) The terms for the incoming Local Council begin when the Election Commissioner certifies the results and the Delegate assigns Regional Officer Powers, before which any and all election-related disputes must be settled. The outgoing Local Council will maintain their offices until then.

Re-elect Volaworand 2020 - Media
Our campaign in the news!

Media Interview:
In the interest of transparency and openness I granted an interview to Purple Hyacinth News to discuss the upcoming election and accepting my nominations.

Purple Hyacinth Interview with Volaworand

PH: Why do you want to run for LC?
V: I feel the current LC has done a good job of standing back and letting the RMB be the RMB. We must keep the all powerful TSP Post-It Note of Suppression from falling into the wrong hands.

PH: Why do you think you would be a good LCer? What would be your weakness as an LCer?
V: I'm wrapping up my second time serving a term on the LC, and I've demonstrated good judgement and restraint to keep the RMB active, fun and safe. I've not reached the Auphelian levels of greatness in poll idea's, so would I would like to up my game in that area.

PH: What is your history in NationStates?
V: I've been on Nationstates just over three years, all of it in TSP. I've done roleplays, nation building dispatches, issues fun, card collecting, a bit of store front stuff in Global Economics and Trade forum and been a legislator in TSP for most of that time. I love our community in TSP and check in every day.

PH: What do you like and what do you dislike about the RMB right now?
V: I like the balance we have now between serious and silly conversations. I'm particularly fond of dispatch publishing and so am quite enjoying seeing the work people are sharing about their history and cultures. There's not really anything I dislike in the RMB right now: I've always been a pretty laid back "Embrace the Entropy" kind of player.

PH: Are there any changes you would like to implement as an LCer?
V: I'm thinking that we could use a few contests now and then, or just silly contests now and then. The spontaneous riddles or brain teasers are always quite enjoyable. I might not be the best person at them, but I would like to support more of that on a regular basis in the RMB. I would like to have the LC develop a closer relationship with Cabinet, particularly Culture and Engagement. Internal to the LC I would like to add some more information to the LC dispatches, specifically fleshing out the FAQ's on what the LC can and can't do so members have a better idea of who does what. I think we need to flesh out our process and administration policies related to the RMB guidelines so there's a clearer appeal or grievance process. It hasn't been an issue for quite a while, but it's best to have he process clearly fleshed out so if it becomes an issue everyone understands how to proceed in a clear and transparent way.

PH: Any other thoughts?
V: The flurry of nations greeting and welcoming new nations has been heartwarming and i would love for us to run a "Welcoming dispatch" contest where members can create thier own greeting dispatch for new members and the winner's dispatch would become the "official greeting" for a month or something.

Trasterian

Good Morning Everyone!

Start Spreading the Breaking News about my campaign! Ignore the fake news that say incumbent Volaworand has “HYPE.” A vote for Trasterian for Local Councilor is a vote for ALL nations in the South Pacific!

Attention nations of the South Pacific!

After an honorable nomination from Local Council Chair Purple Hyacinth, I’m happy to announce that I am running as a candidate for Local Councilor this year!

I want to give everyone a little bit of background on who I am as a nation and my strengths and weaknesses as a candidate.

First off, I have been playing NationStates for a just under a month and I joined the World Assembly and became a legislator early on.

Second, I’m running for local council because you deserve to have a candidate like me who will carry out the will of all nations. I don’t care if your nation is a dictatorship or a democracy, every nations’ voice will be heard if I am elected into the local council. In addition, I’m running for local council because I want every nation to have an enjoyable and fun gaming experience and so they feel comfortable with joking around every so often.

Third, I will be a good local councilor because I always keep an open mind and am willing to listen to the opinions of all nations and I know how to react appropriately to criticism.

Fourth, A weakness of mine is my minimal experience in regional government but I realize that everyone has to start from somewhere and having experience as an local councilor will make me a stronger player.

Fifth, I want to point out what the color of my nations’ flag represents below.

Black: A strong color that represents the power of unity.

Triangle towards the body of the flag: Represents the determination of my nation to succeed.

Yellow: Represents my creative solutions to problems as a nation.

Blue: Represents my reliability to follow through on duties as a nation.

My Zero Tolerance Policy For Trolls and Spammers

If I'm elected to the Local Council, I will recognize right to free speech for every nation in The South Pacific and will not prevent nations from expressing their opinions. However, trolling and spamming in NationStates takes the right to free speech too far and is totally unacceptable and can be considered a form of harassment when directed at other nations. I am committed to suppressing posts in the RMB that are spam or involve trolling and will notify the moderation team to take appropriate action when necessary.

Sorry, been a bit busy with life...

Hi there, I’m assuming if you’re reading this you don’t really know who I am, so let me enlighten you.

As Auphelia likes to say, I’m one of the old foggies that hang around because we’ve misplaced our keys so we can’t unlock the exit. Well, that’s not entirely false. I’ve been here since long before the RMB was a culture all its own, and I’ve watched it change and grow. I’ve enjoyed my time as one of the LC’s, it’s a very different perspective to just a regular poster. I’ve tried to maintain a neutral stance to nation postings, using the rules lightly, even letting some things slide because people were having fun.

I’m looking to continue the low key administration that we’ve had for the last few months, and would like you to vote for me.

Now for the demands of our election rules, Pencil Sharpeners 2, I currently have no CoI, I only have one nation that exists solely in TSP, and absolutely no puppets anywhere.
