Silly, dear, your fighting matters not. It is what we elites think that matters (not that the past few days of voting mean anything).

Tsk. I do hate you’ve blocked my best poll yet. On a positive note, I did get to add twelve other films to your awareness, which is always lovely.

New poll!

My dear, it is not I who would dare block your beloved polls but that dastardly puppeteer, Tsunamy! Fear not though, for if I am elected Supreme Leader, he shall be promptly reassigned to the basement to sort out my fan mail.

A most gruesome fate, to be beset by boredom and idleness for six months! The poor dear . . . surely you have mercy for such a wretched soul?

Why, paperwork is as merciful as I can be on a good day. Pity him not but those who I assign to dispose of those who displease me for that is a far more bloody and gruesome assignment.

Did someone say bloody and gruesome?

I’ll take it!

Also, Cameron Post. An interesting choice! Did you enjoy it terribly much?

Not terribly. It was the only one I watched out of the films listed :P

Oh, well then.

I admit, I may have spiraled a bit deep into this project.

Too deep, perhaps.

It has certainly opened previously unopened doors in my psyche.

Admittedly, I don't recall watching many films which centres on LGBT issues. The most memorable is Boy Erased.

A lovely one, yes. I don’t know why, but I didn’t much care for it. It is a shame more people aren’t voting, but I’ve received several comments from people who are interested in the films who hadn’t heard of them before, which is quite nice to hear!

Before this, I didn’t particularly watch LGBT films, but by now, thanks to these films and my niece being gay on the Tik Tok, I am very nearly conversant in the language of the gay. It is interesting to see how representation has changed through time, and is part of the reason why so many of these films are so recent. Even Olivia is highly problematic, but I still love it dearly.

I am surprised the LGBT community has a dedicated film industry, let alone a large and diverse one. Regardless of your overall stance on the group, the LGBT community is making impressive strides into modern spheres of culture.

I haven’t watched a single one of the films in that poll..

I think they’re more referring to movies that just happen to have LGBT people as main characters and the issues they face. It’s not necessarily a dedicated studio or industry that pumps them out. Also “impressive strides into modern spheres of culture” makes it sound like the community was in the Stone Age before this, lol.

My favorite was Ticked-Off Trannies With Knives. When the poll was announced by Auphelia I was hopping to see that title.

I haven't seen any of the movies in the poll (because I watch very few movies) but I picked The Half of It just for the Asian LGBT representation haha

And it was such a lovely film! I truly felt young again, watching it.

Absolutely not. It was exploitative and reductive, even if revenge fantasy films are some of my favourites.

I do it for the girls and the gays, that’s it.

(This is how I have always done my polls, but now there is a cute little saying to verbalise it.)

Recommendation

OWL recommends voting  FOR  the at-vote resolution, "Repeal 'Whistleblower Protection Act'". The Delegate has been asked to cast their vote accordingly.

Please find below the Office's Analysis for an examination of the resolution and the reasons for the final recommendation.

The Office's Analysis

The at-vote resolution "Repeal 'Whistleblower Protection Act'" seeks to strike GA#539 from the pages of international legislation. While the proposal recognises the need for a WA resolution on the topic of whistleblower protection, it claims that the target's provisions are too intrusive in some and too restrictive in other areas, and that it should be replaced by a more adequate resolution.
The deficiencies pointed out by the proposal are accurate and explained in an easy-to-understand manner; especially the more complicated issue demonstrated in point 3, a legal requirement in order to prosecute whistleblowers/media outlets which is impossible to achieve due to time constellations, is untangled well by the authors. We also find the first point of the proposal particularly serious ‒ where the target resolution likely had high-ranking officials such as ministers in mind, it likewise opens up every lowly local bureaucrat's financial information to be published without possibility of legal retaliation, effectively assuming every civil servant guilty of financial misconduct without any proof needed. We wholeheartedly agree that this is utterly unacceptable.
Point 2, while appearing similarly outrageous at first, seems less serious to us, since "private" crimes can still be normally reported on without necessarily making use of the (still possibly innocent!) accused's personal information ‒ mostly, such information does not contribute much to the case at hand, and instead plays into medieval legal beliefs of public shaming. Nonetheless, this is only a proposal to repeal on these grounds, not to itself make legislation to those ends, and as such we see little harm in supporting what is otherwise a well-argued proposal to strike a flawed resolution from the books.

Thus, OWL recommends to vote FOR the at-vote resolution, "Repeal 'Whistleblower Protection Act'".

Wow, the only thing I saw on that list was But Im A Cheerleader, and that was a god awful movie with a canyon of plot holes and horrible characters.

Any list without Brojack Horseman loses by default. Forgot the A in LGBT+, and it aint "ally"! Some nations might say EXTREMELY relevant to them! cough

I'm legit surprised auphelia hasn't seen Sabrina on netflix considering it was recently cancelled. I thought the social justice was just too cringe worthy to continue past the 2nd season though. Sabrina aint the time nor the place SJW's.

STD? Even the name is an acronym for a certain kind of disease! Although I'm not a nerd or approve of nerd shows.

TIGER KING BABY !

I watched some of I am Jazz, but I felt really grossed out about watching it because she was under 18 until the end of the current season.

I'm really glad Stevens Universe didn't make the list though, I hate that audience.

More rules on the economy. Cars have to have carseats kind of thing, blackmarket creates cars without them. There's probably some way of private vs government run economy that affects this too.
