IN WAKE OF A TERROR GUNDOWN ON MAIN STREET, OPLION
KILLED 85, INJURED HUNDREDS
FIFTEEN ORGANIZED MACHINE GUNMEN ATTACKED CITIZENS OF THE REPUBLIC.
The crackling of the radio is heard throuought the nations as morning fathers and mothers tune in to hear that in which they elected.
"Years ago, my forefathers who held this office dreamt of a nation where a man could live free. A man, no matter from his every walk of life, could live in a land where freedom is guaranteed for everyone, police or jailor, baker or soldier, laborer or officeman, black or white. And yet, our nation has prevailed under many trials. Let me recall my people to our Revolution from our colonial overlords in Galeria (Francore), let me remind of our bloody revolution to separate ourselves from our despots across the sea. And freedom won! We prevailed, and the idea of an independent Polezia entered the world stage for the first time.
Let me recall our people to our revolution from tyranny. We were oppressed by our brethren, those that sought to oppress us. Let me bring back the Civil War. Were our people fought against the crushing demands of the Soviets who were controlling our fields and sending our men to die in camps. But our brothers and sisters, our fathers, fought against the tyranny and secured this Republic. This Republic which has stood against our enemies and withstood the testing sands of time. I say to you: We will not fall!
Clapping and Cheering
If those who seek to destroy and destabilize this republic wish to use violence against our innocent citizens: let me tell you, you will pay! The people of Polezia do not forget. We will never forget this injustice that has happened today! Not in any time, had anyone been delibrately attacked like the citizens of Oplion were this morning. Surely, I was in my office, doing my job, when my aide came in and told me the story. She told me of how our people were killed. And as I looked at the flag that hung on my wall, I thought of the battles and fights we've won to guarantee this nation survives to tell the tales of the nations of old to our brothers in the future.
Citizens of Polezia, this attack on Main Street was not just an attack on the people of Oplion. It was an attack on the very essence of what we, as a nation, hold dear. It was an attack on our unity, our courage, and the sacred contract we have with freedom. But let me make this abundantly clear: such cowardice will never break us. The blood that was shed today calls to us. Not for vengeance, but for justice. Not for despair, but for resolve. And resolve we shall have.
Our history has been forged in the colisseum of struggle, and each test has only made us stronger. The Revolutionary War. The Civil War. The Raventree War. These were moments when the enemy thought they could crush us, only to find that their fire fueled the iron of Polzi resolve. Today, in the face of this terror, that iron burns hotter and stronger than ever before. To those who seek to sow chaos in our streets, know this: we are watching, and we will hold you to account. You may have tried to sow fear, but all you have reaped is a more united, more determined Polezia!
To the families who have lost loved ones, I cannot offer enough words to ease your pain, but I promise you this: Polezia will stand beside you. We will honor their memory by ensuring that such evil never darkens our streets again. We will take swift, decisive action to root out those who seek to destabilize our peace and endanger our people. I have already instructed the NSIO9 and FDIS to leave no stone unturned in their pursuit of the perpetrators of this atrocity.
And to every Polezian listening, from the Rocky Mountains of Saint Markia, to the shining seas of Arcania, this is your call to solidarity. Violence will not define us. Division will not claim us. Let this tragedy remind us of the preciousness of what we have built together. Let it strengthen our commitment to a free, just, and united Polezia.
But as I sat there, in my office, the weight of those eighty-five lives lost, the hundreds injured, and the countless families shattered bore down on me. I am not just your president; I am a son of this republic, and I feel the grief of Oplion as if it were my own family. My heart aches for every father, every mother, every child who will not see their loved ones come home tonight. This, my dear citizens, is not just an attack on Oplion. It is an attack on Polezia. It is an attack on freedom itself.
We are a nation built on the sacrifices of those who came before us. They bled so that we might prosper. They fought so that we might stand tall. And today, we face a new enemy, one that seeks to undermine all that we have built together. But let me be clear. Those who fight with terror, who seek to divide us with bullets and blood, will find no refuge in this land. They will face the unyielding justice of the Polzi people.
I look upon Men praying today. Whether they pray in Trinitist Churches, Arcaoenianist Churches, the Synagouges, the Mosques, wherever you may be, you see citizens mourning. I look to our allies, and I see their citizens mourning. I see Polzi Flags in lands that are not ours. I see tears shed by citizens of foreign nations. Polezia, The world is standing with you.
The president sighs, then speaks.
Please stand for the National Anthem of Polezia."
The drums and trumpets, clarinets and violins, along with many other instruments ready and play, as 50 Soldiers holding rifles preform the 25-15-10 salute.
Still, I lay in silence,
bound by earth and stone,
Through the storms and shadows,
my heart beats alone.
Yet the dawn is rising,
casting light anew,
Polezia, my homeland,
my faith belongs to you.
Raise the flag of freedom,
let the colors shine,
Through the trials and sorrow,
Liberty Divine!
For the path of glory,
we'll walk side by side,
Polezia, my nation,
our honor is our guide.
Fields of endless beauty,
rivers running deep,
Stories of our fathers,
in the stars they sleep.
Through the years of struggle,
we have stood as one,
O Polezia, united, our journey is not done.
Raise the flag of freedom,
let the colors soar,
Through the tides of history,
we'll endure once more.
For the love of Polezia,
we stand hand in hand,
Forever we shall prosper,
united we shall stand.
Still, I lay in silence,
yet my voice will ring,
O Polezia, forever,
your anthem we shall sing.
