It would be if they were actually needed.

Them: We are so rich our vessel's are made of solid GOLD!

Synnadine: You know we have a standard issue weapon that is basically just a massive, high power lightning bolt, right?

Them: Of course we do, but we have nothing to fear! What is a mere electric bolt going to do to a starship made entirely of GOLD! HAHAHA!

That was an impressive display I must admit.

If I didn't have to worry about Maria this guy's skin would be sprawled out on the wall like an art display....just who the hell does he think he is, pretending to care?!

She looks back to him with an annoyed glare and speaks up. "That didn't answer my question. What do you want from me?"

Not a threat, no. Something this woman seriously needs to ask herself. Her bravado will only go so far when she is so terrified to use her powers that she won't even defend herself. Whatever is hunting her will find her eventually, either alive or dead, thanks to what lurks in these streets. And the Senate's forces against the unique threats that crop up are beyond counting. There are many reasons why the Sector has remained under their dominance for so long in the face of the supernatural and superhuman. This woman has no idea what she wandered into. And if Lee sees the chance to avoid people's deaths, you can bet your life he's going to take it.

He's given her enough time to self-reflect. "When's the last time you've eaten something that wasn't bar slop? You can grill me for every question you've got, but let's get out of this rain. And away from these no-lifes," Lee adds with a grimace as the crowds pick up in noise. He stands up and steps out from under the awning, the Skyshield once again humming to life as he looks back at the woman. "You're not too proud to turn your nose up at free food are you?"

"What you call pride-" The woman states, speaking in a soft, coarse, defiant tone. "I call intelligence..." as her words linger Lee can see the hesitation and thought written on the woman's face. He may say something to still convince her though, given his experience, he's just as likely to give her a moment to sort her apparent thoughts.

He's suspicious, but given how I look it makes sense.

I've been alive too long to believe he's acting out of the kindness of his heart, it's all a set up.

I've been alive too long to not be able to see his intentions aren't hostile...

While there are plenty of dry remarks he could make at her expense, Lee just nods. "That's fine." The Skyshield registers her once again as she steps out away from the building and into the street, her current wet condition not worsened by the storm. Speaking of. "I'm Sid. Sid Lee Holloway." As he talks he slips off the long brown coat he's wearing and offers it to her. "You already guessed that I'm with the government in some form, right? You don't have to worry about me pulling tricks to get you arrested. I'm old school. Prefer settling differences and problems with words over a fight. Heh, I'm too old to be hunting for glory."

Even with his peaceable talk it's impossible to miss the Cannon strapped at his side now that the coat wasn't covering it. Gsalt does not manufacture for humans. They make weapons to be used only for the superior clone soldiers of the Senate's clone armies and special forces. Firing the weapon once would be enough to destroy his arm and shoulder, let alone fire it one handed. He doesn't seem bothered by her seeing the weapon, or hiding the next piece of tech he casually uses. By inputting something into his left cuff an ripple travels down the casual suit and vest he's wearing, a ripple that renders the gun invisible once it passes over it. A basic precaution so that no one on the street gets antsy, but clearly establishing himself to be some sort of advanced law enforcement. The coat he offered to Celecia is moddable as well. As soon as she takes it she can feel the cloth rippling in her grip, the entire coat shrinking from Lee's size to hers.

She was quite agile, being careful not to get close to him seeing as plenty had happened in his trial up to now for the Cursed Lost to know enough about the Drinker and his own abilities.

The Bat kept her movements erratic while up in the air, using the surrounding buildings to her advantage as she persisted in using the stone surrounding hem to counter Kirk's Wind magic, using pure strength to kick whole sections of building at him before she uses her speed to move behind buildings and waiting the the familiar noises of the casting of his magics to dodge and evade him.

"You're struggling so much Kirk, why not just give in?"

Her probing continued through echoes from afar, taunting smiles and bared teeth flash in his vision between collapsed buildings as large chunks of broken buildings were flung at him. Her taunting's only growing closer and closer to home.

Aylote's Present Timeline

When Saph cleared the smoke, Kali wasn't surprised that the fusion did that and was soon getting prepared to dodge any attacks that came her way. Kali would see Saph fire off some weak ki blast towards her direction in which Kali would start dodging each one while also firing weak ki blast back at Saph. Kali continued to stay back hoping that Saph would try and come to her to fight her.

Tch! This turned into a strafing match! No one is going to win at this rate... Saph kept her pace with dodging the incoming volley, keeping her energy stable was a chore and because of it it left them with several close calls. For the time being they had no choice but to keep their distance, they hated it but getting in close for melee won't prove anything until they get a good idea for what kind of strength is necessary... They just need time to think.

Wabacha wrote:Kali is rather fond of creating smoke, Zamu muses to himself as the two fighters struggle to find an opening through the rules of the game. Curious what she'll do with it next now that she's trained Saph what to expect. Though at this rate they'll both die of old age.

"Remember! There is only one way to win, but many ways to lose points. Tossing ki may seem like a good idea, but no matter how weak you make it, it's an open invitation to lose your points. Even the ones you don't have yet."

Just a quick ol' quote chain here.

The woman looks at Lee with a judging expression as he reveals he has multiple bits and bobs. When she takes the coat and it shrinks to her size, rather than putting it on right away, she raises an eyebrow and says something first. "You sure your name isn't Inspector Gadget...?" With the quip out she puts on the coat, internally desperate to get warmer as she's been freezing for so long now, but not wishing to externally show it. She tries not to over think his firearm, must have some kind of tech that lets him use that beast of a weapon too, but as she folds her arms across her chest she realizes she needs to give him a name. After a brief internal debate as to what name to give him, in a tone that simply screams she doesn't want to, she says but one word:

"Willow."

The Forgotten beast watched as its foe now was rapidly closing the gap despite its best efforts to putting lots of obstacles between itself and the vessel of the fractured Old spirit, though with each passing second it realised that the Zoconian was closing in. Though while the best was starting to worry, it was the spawn of Salem's ambition. Self assured and arrogant, to it Kirk was beginning to fall into its clutches. While that may not be true, it could sense that Kirk was reaching an emotional breaking point.

She didn't care what became of the city, the more she could deny her masters enemy the better. The old ones must not regain their foothold in the domain her master wants so dearly.

Once the explosion goes off she immediately climbs into the air, launching several tracking missile spells she made to track and explode on impact with force of several tons of TNT. They will quickly follow and attempt to destroy him and several buildings around him to deny the Zoconian's more of the ancient knowledge of their ancestors.

"Yeah, something like that." While he has no idea what reference she's making Lee goes along with it. He's looking out into the throngs of party goers creating anarchy in the streets as the woman puts on his coat, and he almost misses when she gives him a name. He has no reasons to believe whether it's her actual name or not, but it doesn't really matter. "Well Willow. " Lee takes another drag, dull orange light fading to nothing. "Ready to go?"

The farce of his wife has no difficulty luring Kirk back to street level, the swoop down followed by an explosion of stone and fire. The maddened knight rises from it, his vision red with the singular need to kill the Forgotten. All his years of training and careful methods of fighting have been washed away by his rage and grief. So when the Forgotten turns and charges straight for him, he does not think of the risks or what tricks this could entail. He sees an opportunity to finally cleave it in half. His sword arcs upwards in a flash of fire, and descends upon the Forgotten's head as it stretches out a single clawed finger to touch his heart.

The claw meant to pierce his heart stabs into his left side as the Forgotten avoids his obvious blow. Kirk, consumed in the moment, almost doesn't even realize that he has missed. He does notice however when the spell detonated.

Searing pain wracks his body and snaps Kirk out of his berserker state, but it's too late to do anything about it. Dust flies as he lands heavily on his right side. He is still coming to terms with what just happened when he rallies his aura to try and block the missiles that explode against them while trying to hit him. There's nothing Kirk could do about the other missiles that strike the buildings, except watch as they collapse into dust and rubble, the secrets within lost now forever. What am I doing? What am I DOING! With the aura barrier still holding Kirk struggles to his feet, a hand plastered tightly to the wound left by his recklessness. I'm a damned fool.
