Tai Pei has figured out a way to solve its problems.

My ballot:

By Rank:
A. 5
B. 2
C. 1
D. 3
E. 4
F. 6
G. 7

By Approval:
A. NOT APPROVED
B. APPROVED
C. APPROVED
D. APPROVED
E. NOT APPROVED
F. NOT APPROVED
G. NOT APPROVED

the other problem is that many of the nuances in ranked voting that you and 24D were debating depend on there being two or three polls so options are limited - if ballots can be written as posts, this obstacle is removed and so are many of the differences. now i won’t lie, some of the finer points in STV or ranked voting or whatever go over my head, but it seems to me like the most simple system involves ranking all candidates, then the candidate with least votes is eliminated, their votes transferred, and process starts again until someone has more than 50%, as Seas describes. if there’s a loophole in this system, (as opposed to a loophole in the idea of outsourcing to google forms, which we’re treating separately), please explain it and how it might be resolved or improved upon.

Is St. David's Day the Welsh version of St. Patrick's Day?

Sure, I guess so. It's a celebration of Welsh heritage, culture, and identity, so I guess that's a pretty accurate description.

I just ate a mega pack of Crayola crayons.

I feel great! Either that or all the graphite in my stomach is gonna give me bloody diarrhea.

Sorry for the double post, but I am quite surprised no one has brought up the question of what Tai Pei represents, of which it does 2 things.

First, it's supposed to be a quite blunt message that "revenge is not an end, for it can only lead to exponential evil". When a country, person, or anything else has an obsession with revenge, it ends up leading to a burning desire to have something to contrast itself with, which always exposes humanity's dark side.

The other message Tai Pei is supposed to send is that hope can never truly perish. As humans, one of our natural needs is individual autonomy. Once humans are provided with an ability to simply keep themselves alive, they are alone with their thoughts, and humans alone with their thoughts is a despot's greatest fear and nightmare.

I like the idea of using some RMB (not necessarily this one) to do regular ranked choice voting. How many others like this idea?

How many times must I say this? We need to vote on the voting systems, there is no other way of deciding this. Vote by stating which voting systems you approve of, and then by rank. Like this:

By Rank:
A. 5
B. 2
C. 1
D. 3
E. 4
F. 6
G. 7

By Approval:
A. NOT APPROVED
B. APPROVED
C. APPROVED
D. APPROVED
E. NOT APPROVED
F. NOT APPROVED
G. NOT APPROVED

I’m going off for the night now, so I won’t be able to read any replies immediately. See you all tomorrow.
