A subdivision of Cold weather assault scouts in Blizzard Force have requested an upgrade to the standard DLT-19x targeting blaster, citing poor cooling systems as well as frequent misfires or overheating, which hinders combat response. The proposed replacement, among others, are as follows:
X-45 Sniper Rifle (Sorosuub Corporation)
DLT-20A (BlasTech Industries)
Cycler Rifle (Unknown. We may have to initiate raids on members of the Sentient "Tusken" species on Tatooine)
Relby-V10 (We may have to contact Bounty Hunter Bossk, for requisition.)
IQA-11 (Unknown, few quantities in possession.)
A280-CFE (We have large numbers of these from confiscated Rebel Supplies. While not as accurate as the DLT-19x, it allows for faster retaliation and mobility.)

The Imperial Department of Military Research has released an initial munitions report following advanced combat simulations and evaluation, which details, in summary, the following:
The NT-242 and E-5s has been added to the proposed list of replacements.
The Cycler Rifle has been noted to be a kinetic slugthrower weapon, rather than a standard blaster firearm. It has been singled out for separate evaluation, regarding its possible differences in combat usage and capabilities.
The X-45 sniper rifle has been put on hold due to Imperial conflicts between SoroSuub Corporations and our Imperial Munitions Department. Initial testing has proven it to be fragile and unsuitable for "rank and file" deployments. A suggestion that troopers be allowed to enter deployment with their own customised civilian firearms is being deliberated, with possible concerns stemming from reduced battle efficiency as well as poorer squad coordination and morale being taken into account.
The DLT-20A is intended for advanced reconnaissance units, and we will look into streamlining its production.
The A280-CFE has been noted for a possible replacement, though an additional firearms module and restructuring of the Stormtrooper Corps Academy Curriculum may be implemented regarding the use of non-Imperial affliated firearms.
The Relby-V10 and IQA-11c units we were given for testing have been stolen. Delays are expected.
Further developments in testing will be regularly dispatched to Imperial Military personnel.
