The Federation Genesis

The Federation Genesis

Since the 1st King of Leloux, Sybille I (Sybille the Father), established the Kingdom of Leloux in 154 BC, the Lelouxian Kings always had a desire to expand and conquest. While the oldest son would inherit the Kingdom, the other sons were frequently sent on conquests, sometimes for family honour and pride, sometimes to avoid a bloody rivalry. As the founding patriarch of the House of Recon, he passed down the leadership of this Royal House to the next King of Leloux, thus it had become tradition that the future Kings of Leloux, whether or not they were the oldest son of the King, would inherit the House of Recon as well.

All is well until the 85th King of Recon, Haden I, who had just won the Great Continental War, ripping apart the socialist-industrial Modelian Republic, and restored the Kingdom once again in 1997. With the discovery of the Great Lelouxian Journal in 2007, a cryptic document that archived the conquests of the many sons of Lelouxian Kings, it was discovered that many monarchs of today's greatest Kingdoms have hailed from the House of Recon.

In 2011, the first meeting of these "monarchs of Recon" gathered in Forteral Palace under Haden I's invitation, and formally supported King Haden of Leloux (The recon empire) to become Emperor of Recon, to lead the Federation of Recon, a multi-national union of states under a common goal for greater cooperation, peace and prosperity for all the people of Recon. Named not after a geographical territory, but after the same familial house they came from, the House of Recon. This meeting came to be known as the The Turrensia Convention, as it was held in Turrensia, the federal capital.

Traditions

Forteral Ball/Forteral Convention/Forteral Consilium
Once a year, all Monarchs of Recon gather at Forteral Palace, the palace of the House of Recon. This is a must-go obligation to visit fellow members of the clan, even if the monarch usually does not travel out for the rest of the year.

Annual Contribution
Traditionally, an annual "endowment"/"contribution" is given to the House by all members for operations. Due to the pride and honour of the monarchs of Recon, they outbid each other in terms of contribution, reaching colossal amounts, sufficient to expand the Federation's combined agendas. (This is built upon the trust that nations will choose to pay lesser or threaten the federation with lesser contributions.) Name of this kind of payment can be considered.

MONARCHS OF THE HOUSE OF RECON

Semolia: Beaûwen Conquest of 1199

From 1168-1172 AD, The 26th King of Leloux, Sherman I and Queen Julia bore three sons, Prince Magnus of Heraclea, Prince Noris of Alvesco and Princess Celeste of Roserade. The two brothers were rivals, each undermining the other to gain their father's trust. It got so bad that they frequently tried to assassinate each other, to Queen Julia's great disappointment. In a desperate move to prevent the brothers from rivalling, King Sherman I sponsored a naval expedition to send Prince Noris across the Chatham Straits in search of new land, to Prince Magnus's fervent support. In the 13th century, a naval fleet was close to impossible, but due to King Sherman's support of his younger son to search for new lands, he increased the national tax and used a significant portion of the Treasury. Prince Magnus would eventually succeed to the throne by force as the 27th King of Leloux, Magnus III, in 1203, after murdering King Sherman in a bloody coup.

In 1199, Prince Noris and his 20,000 soldiers, and 30-ship fleet left Chatham, Leloux, and landed on the western coast of Semolia, near modern-day Omendde Duchy. He came to the city of Beaûwen with his soldiers to conquest it, but surprisingly the people accepted him as their Prince, to ally in an effort to defeat Beaûphens. Throughout the next 25 years, Prince Noris, leading the Beaûwens, against the Duke of Axelbourg, leading the Beaûphens. The Battle of Beaûwen 1225 was crucial in Prince Noris's lifetime. In that battle there was a fight between dynasties of Beaûphens which were living in city of Beaûphen and Beaûwens which lived in the city of Beaûwen. That battle decided next King. Beaûphen fell to the Beaûwens, ending a 25-year long feud. Prince Noris was proclaimed as 1st King of Semolia, Norruegho I in Sancto Traix Cathedral in 1225.

Imperial Royal Union: Great Sydonis Migration of 1417

The 34th Queen of Leloux, Queen Agatha I and her husband, Prince Lesper, had always intended to leave the throne to their eldest son, Prince Marian, ever since he was born. Prince Marian had previously served as a Colonel in the army, while second brother Prince Sybille served as Commodore of the Chatham Fleet. The 3 younger siblings, Princess Castyria, Princess Sylvia and Prince Julian all led a high life living off the family riches. Marian was handed the reins of the government as the Queen fell ill, and was known to be a capable but dictatorial ruler who frequently abused his authority, much to his siblings' resentment. After over 140 farmlands and homes were burnt in a show of force by Marian's personal guard, Prince Sybille, with the help of his compatriots in the Royal Navy, fled by sea with his followers and over a thousand villagers in what would be known as the Great Sydonis Migration in . Prince Sybille named the land where he first stepped foot as Sydonis, where he established a Kingdom with his followers in the next year and came to be known as King Sybille I in 1418. He would later marry Lady Rothsanna, who bore him four sons, Princes Sybille, Elgin, Cyrus and Kylian. Prince Marian would become the 35th King of Leloux, Marian I in 1439.

After Sybille I's death in 1456, there was a major discussion for succession of the Kingdom of Sydonis. To prevent a similar family feud from the previous generation from happening once again, the four agreed to part ways. King Sybille II retained the throne in the Kingdom of Sydonis, while the rest would go on to become King Elgin I of Vesthans (modern-day Osterlund), King Cyrus I of Southland (modern-day South Royale) and King Kylian I of Cambes (modern-day Cambescent). Thus signalling the dawn of the Era of the Four Kingdoms. For much of the five decades, the Four Kingdoms would constantly clashed with each other over territorial disputes. Then it wasn't until 1553 that Kylian I who would reunify the country, what would later become the Empire of Imperialia (now termed the First Empire of Imperial Royal Union), and taking up the regal title of Emperor Thales I, named after the Thales Gate, a major national monument, that he had walked through to proclaim his victory. The name Thales would later become synonymous with the Imperialean Royal Family for generations to come.

Dou Boux: Stravaté Unification of 1617

36th King of Leloux, Marian I summoned his two sons; Prince Sherman, the charming elder son, and Prince Amadeus, the studious younger son; in 1515 to the palace upon his deathbed. In an effort to hunt down the King's exiled brother, Prince Sybille, Marian I had asked him to embark on a mission of exploration to try and find the legendary island of Bristen Faults, which according to myth and legend that "its lands are paved with silver and gold, and riches beyond the wildest dreams of any man". As the elder Prince was coronated as Sherman I, Prince Amadeus also agreed to the voyage. Thus on May 14th, 1515, he set off in the navy's RES Palgrave, accompanied by several ships and a small naval squadron. During the voyage, a violent storm had sent them completely off course, and wiped out most of the marines accompanying the Prince. After two weeks of endless drifting, they finally saw land. After struggling to the beach, the remaining party, 17 in total, set up camp on the beach with the few supplies that they had left. Smoke from one of the fires they lit was spotted by guards at Casa de Halcón; the summer retreat of Henry II, Grand Duke of Cerdové. They had landed in the Grand Duchy of Cerdové, a distant neighbour of Leloux.

After he sent for them, and Prince Amadeus explained who he was, and presented the Grand Duke with letters from his father, the Grand Duke’s attitude changed from one of hostility to one of hospitality. He invited the Prince to stay at his court while he recovered. In the months Prince had been recuperating, he married the strikingly beautiful Princess Marie, the daughter and heiress of Henry II. Princess Marie surrendered her rights to succession of the Grand Ducal Throne in favour of her husband, and thus after the death of Henry II in 1523, Prince Amadeus became Amadeus II of Cerdové. Their grandson, Henry III, married Princess Elena, the daughter of Grand Duke William III of Stravatè, the neighbouring Grand Duchy in 1615. Subsequently in 1617, upon the death of William III, on the 1st of August 1617, the Kingdom of Dou Boux was born, named after the geographical culture that the people called themselves by, Dou Boux. Henry and Elena ruled as co-sovereigns under the names Henry III and Elena II, respectively. Their 10th-generation heir, in an unbroken male line, rules Dou Boux today as King Charles V.

Hundredstar: Sterlinghawk Voyage of 1928

Prince Siculus du Croft Xavier was born 1900, in Dion as the only child to the 84th King of Leloux, Sherman IV (Sherman Eisille Dumont) and Queen Theresa. Due to the Modelian Revolution that toppled his father's rule, he and his family lived briefly in-exile at the Republic's outskirts, where the nobility was essentially relocated out of the capital. Despite being the only child in the family, it was reported that King Sherman IV was also father to Prince Lucian prior to his marriage to Queen Theresa, with a common lady. The sitting Emperor Haden was widely supported during the Great Continental War as he had claimed to be the son of Prince Lucian, however Prince Lucian's existence has been questioned over the years, whether or not he was made-up to garner political support for Haden I's war.

Seeing as he would not inherit the Lelouxian throne, Prince Siculus set sail from Lyneham, Leloux, to seek for the new world in 1928, with immense protest from the Modelian socialist leadership. He set sail on board the famous RES Sterlinghawk in 7 March 1928, and travelled across the Gustavic Sea, arriving on the south side of the island in modern day Queenborough to start a settlement along with 125 of his followers, consisting of men, women and boys. As the Prince stepped onto the coast, he saw many stars in the dark night sky, and thus Hundredstar was founded. On 21 May 1928, they picked a valley known as Bledllyn for their settlement. The settlement became the first permanent Xavierian settlement in Hundredstar, and the future capital of the country. Soonafter, Prince Siculus was declared King Xavier I, the first King of Hundredstar. Xavier II (Magnuss du Fotre Xavier) was born on 27 November 1961 at George Town, Holmlock, Hundredstar. He is the eldest son of the late King Xavier I, and succeeded his father for the Hundredstar throne in 1976.
