Safety from Crime in Forest (07.08.2012)

Here's the second choropleth map of Forest. It's titled "Safety from Crime", but paradoxically, it shows how inefficient and weak regional police forces are.

The nations which are relatively free from crime are marked blue, while the rest is marked red. Although the former seem to dominate, it's just an illusion. Situation in the great majority of "blue" nations (the brightest of them) is unstable, and although the streets are safe today, they don't have to be such tomorrow.

Things are completely different in the "red" part. Most of these nations are under heavy influence of crime families (like Family bear). Situation there is unlikely to change in a heartbeat. It's worth noticing that the most serious crime (in Errinundera) is twice better-organised than the best prevention system (in Sorvadia).

On the other hand, while crime is a very serious problem in the Western and Middle Forest, the Far East seems to be a land of peace. East to Eungella, there are only three (and only slightly) crime-torn nations, and citizens of the rest (about 30 nations) rather respect the law. That wave of young and safe nations can help a lot in a future fight against western mafias.
