Elections of Palma Burkando
On December 15, the day our great nation was founded, elections will be held. The following is a brief introduction to the way the elections work and a rundown of the candidates this year.Introduction
The election system of Palma Burkando is one of Proportional Representation, (AKA an electoral system in which parties gain seats in proportion to the number of votes cast for them.) There is no electoral college, like that of the United Federation.
Parties running this year
The Socialist Party is the current ruling party headed by current Chairman Wayword Ruth. The party is running for re-election this year, promising the upholding of the status quo.
The Capitalist Party is the main challenger to The Socialist Party, headed by Jake Ford. They promise a slow transition back to capitalism.
The Purple Party is the largest minor party, headed by Anabelle Neon. They promise the abolition of the socialist system along with the removal of various economic regulations.
The Eco Party is the only other party with a chance to win the election, headed by Mark Edinger. They promise a much larger commitment to the environment and increased spending in environmental protection.
Current polls are predicting The Capitalist Party will win, but that still remains to be seen.
