Sophia & EoGB recommend a vote FOR Repeal "Civilian Aircraft Accord"

Office of the President of Sophia & WA Affairs Ministry of the Empire of Great Britain
WORLD ASSEMBLY VOTING RECOMMENDATION

General Assembly: Repeal "Civilian Aircraft Accord" (GA#342), by Magecastle Embassy Building A5

Recommendation: FOR

Rationale: The crux of this repeal is outrageously simple: that the fundamental resolution on the handling of aircraft in civilian airspace not only lets member states provide aircraft in distress with "assistance" without specifying what assistance, but allows military offensives against aircraft that do not follow unclear "instructions" upon receiving a "warning" of undefined nature. These are measures that promote member state negligence at best and overmilitarisation at worst - neither intended nor desired goals - and should therefore not remain in force by any means.

This recommendation was written by Tinhampton, the President of Sophia. The Empire of Great Britain concurs.

This resolution will be at vote between the major updates of August 4th 2023 and August 8th 2023.

This recommendation was jointly issued between Sophia and Empire of Great Britain. This does not mean that the President's opinion of this resolution was influenced by what Empire of Great Britain believes. Under the Constitution, the President must always cast their vote in line with the interests of Sophia, not some other region; this recommendation reflects the sincere beliefs of all regions involved.
