NSUK is a new British themed region on NationStates

MYTH - NSUK was founded in November 2005 following the extinction of a previous British Region.

If you want to learn more about the history of the region check out the British Museum of Culture and History

Being on the forums means I have to be on the discord

MYTH - We’ve had numerous successful citizens on our forum who haven’t joined the regional discord server.

For more details on how to apply for citizenship look at this page

Being a citizen doesn’t actually do anything

MYTH - Being a citizen gives you loads of opportunities, such as voting in General Elections and joining the Council of Nations.

To learn more about the Council of Nations check out this page

The forum takes loads of time to get used to and understand

MYTH - It takes different people different amounts of time to fully understand the forum but with a little patience it can be rather easy and with our useful video guides that’ll be released soon it’ll become even easier!

The Monarchy does everything on the forum so there’s no point in joining

MYTH - The Monarchy mostly performs the roles of the real life monarch and royal family i.e. they fulfil an important cultural role but their powers are limited

The Newcomer Information Desk has more about the Royal Family here

The forums is just more of the same stuff from the RMB

MYTH - While it’s true that there are roleplay opportunities on both the RMB and the forums, the roleplays themselves are very different. Roleplay on the forums is more about how you, as an individual person, live your life than about leading an entire nation.

In fact, you don’t even have to roleplay on the forums at all - you can simply have a chat about something interesting, play games, or share some memes.
The Red Lion, our regional pub, is a great place to start!
Being on the forums is a huge time commitment

MYTH - The only requirements to be on the forums are that you have to maintain a nation in United Kingdom, and you have to log in at least once a month. That’s it! You don’t even have to actively post on the forums (although we’d like you to!), you can just lurk in the shadows and read what’s going on.
The forums community isn't rooted in British culture

MYTH - We’re proud to be the largest and most famous British region in NationStates! Many of the things on our forums are based on the real-life United Kingdom, including place names and the way we run our government. But don’t worry - all cultures and traditions are welcome on our forums. You don’t have to be a British superfan to fit in.
There's nothing to do on the forums

MYTH - Actually, there’s just as much to do on the forums as there is in-game! The main difference is: you won’t lose your conversations buried under pages and pages of RMB roleplay when you move to the forums. It’s much easier to keep track of conversations and go back to things from the past. Other than that, the same principle applies as on the RMB: use your imagination to come up with events!
Joining the forums is a bit of a hassle

MYTH - To join the forums, all you need is a Proboards account and to fill out a quick form (that takes less than 2 minutes)! If you do get confused anywhere along the way, we’re here to help you, whether through an in-game telegram, a Discord chat, or on the RMB.
There are no limits to be on the forums

MYTH - While we hope that many of you will hang out with us on the forums, you must be at least 13 years old in order to do so. Internet safety is our top priority for this community, so if you’re not quite of age yet: don’t worry! We’re not going anywhere, and you can join once you’re a bit older.
If I’m already on the Discord, there’s no point to the forums

MYTH - While we’re happy to have everyone on the Discord, the forums have something totally different to offer! With the forums, it’s easier to organise conversations, look back at things from the past, and roleplay with things like businesses, estates, political parties, etc. There’s a lot more room for character-building on the forums.

If you’re not already in our discord you can join here
It takes ages to get any responsibility on the forums

MYTH - Everyone moves at their own pace offsite, some can get elected really quickly into Parliament or get offered important cabinet roles, others take their time a bit more, either way there’s always roles open and things to do.
