Welcome to Aevum Interventu Sports and Culture!

Welcome to the Aevum Interventu Sports and Culture factbook. Here you’ll find a collection and record of all of the regional events we have and are planning to conduct in our region. All events displayed here are run and administered by the moderation team using real-life data and taking into account roleplay actions and decisions. For more information on this, please contact a member of moderation.

Sporting and cultural events are a big part of real-life, and often serve to divert the attention of the world away from the geopolitical events and issues, which is exactly the purpose they serve in our region! These events are a way for players to enjoy some friendly, competitive events and can be used as the basis or reasoning for roleplay actions.

Here you’ll find a brief explanation and guidelines for regional events in Aevum Interventu!

How it works

Regional events follow the basis of real-life events, though they can be edited and amended through the roleplay if so desired. All events are moderator run, and take basis from real-life circumstances and from player roleplay.

For example, when determining the score of a football match between Team A and Team B, the score will be determined based on the real-life corresponding match or closest match to the date of the event. Further to this point, if Team A has been performing well in recent games and has improved the funding and condition of it’s sporting training and facilities, then the score will be amended to reflect this. This is in order to maintain fairness and impartiality in the tournaments.

Please remember that these tournaments tend to work in a win or lose format. If your team performs poorly in one tournament, that doesn’t mean it will perform the same way in the next tournament. We strongly advise all players to accept the results of the tournaments, just as you would in real life. Any arguing, complaining or behaviour that could be considered as being a ‘sore loser’ will not be tolerated and may result in disciplinary actions.

Please be calm and mature about these events, and remember that they are supposed to be fun!

What events do we run?

We are hoping to expand the amount of events that we run over the years, partially corresponding with real life and partially corresponding with player requests. Here is a list of the events that we are running or planning to run in the near future:

  • FIFA World Cup

  • Summer Olympic Games

  • Winter Olympic Games

  • AFC Asian Cup

  • CAF Cup of Nations

  • UEFA European Championships

  • CONMEBOL Copa America

  • CONCACAF Championships

All the relevant details for these events can be found here on this factbook! Please be advised that the factbooks are subject to moderator creation, and therefore may not always be accurate or updated. Please be patient and if you have any burning requests or questions, please contact a member of moderation.

How you can get involved!

Although the moderators run these events, that doesn’t mean that you, the players, won’t have a say in them! These events are run for the players, meaning that all accepted and approved players can get involved in the following ways.

Qualifying for tournaments is a long and difficult process to track, so we do accept players who express interest in qualifying for tournaments if they contact moderation! Moderation will announce when the qualifying period is and how many teams from different regions of the world will be allowed to qualify. If you would like to get involved, express your interest when the announcements are made in order to qualify. Please note that the Olympics is omitted from this process, as all countries of the World are deemed to have qualified automatically.

Hosting tournaments is one of the bigger and better roleplay functions through which players can get involved with regional events. Players can submit bids to host any event that is relevant to them when moderation decides to make the relevant announcements. Players should try to follow realism rules when making a bid for hosting a tournament or event. For example, London bidding to host the Summer Olympics would be acceptable and realistic. In contrast, Kiribati bidding to host the Summer Olympics would be unacceptable.

If you are successful in the voting process for hosting a tournament, you will be expected to roleplay a number of events that will contribute to the establishment of the tournament, and also to provide this information to moderation to establish a factbook for them. These include:

  • Announcement of a host or host city (Olympics)

  • Building or selection of facilities or stadiums

  • Any relevant issues surrounding your bid (for example, if the Olympics are in the USSR and the USA decides to boycott the event)

Players will be allowed to place a bid to host any tournament or event they wish. For more information, please contact moderation.
