Casus Belli list and mechanics

So, war is a pretty common thing in our RP. But quite often, we just go to war. Originally, one needed a valid Casus Belli to go to war. We seem to have forgotten this. So here’s a new list of valid Casus Belli to use in your warmongering.

CLAIM:
Probably going to be the most common one, after animosity, which we’ll get to later. This ones pretty simple. You have a VALID land claim on something, and someone else has it. You are free to declare war to take it. For example, the Dutch going to war with Oileron for taking the land promised to him is a “claims” war. Dutch had a claim to the land, and went to war for it.

SUBJUGATION:
This ones also probably going to be pretty common. I know you all LOVE forming unions with other countries, especially when they aren’t really unions and they’re more of a lord/vassal relationship. But nations don’t usually do those, especially the later. So this is going to give you an excuse to make them that vassal. If you formally propose a union, and the nation(whether player or ghost) declines, you can then use the Subjugation Casus Belli to force them into that union.
The African Federation’s actions as of me typing this are a good example of this.

ANIMOSITY:
This ones pretty basic. When you hate another country, and they hate you, then you can use the “animosity” Casus Belli. For example, Clun and Oileron hate each other. Either could use this as a valid reason.

IDEOLOGY:
Alright, so this one seems the same as animosity, but it isn’t. This one means the nation’s government’s politician stance actually encourages the war. So Clun and Oileron hate each other based on their governments. But they don’t have the “ideology” Casus Belli. I have this Casus Belli on both of them, because my political ideology is all about overthrowing bourgeoisie tyranny, and that’s something present in both nations, so I can go to war with them for that. However, they’re ideologies/national attitudes don’t put an emphasis towards this, so they can’t use this.

PREEMPTIVE:
This ones pretty circumstantial. When a nation develops something that we can classify as a WMD, you will have a period of 2 RP years to launch a “preemptive” war to stop them.

LIBERATION:
Let’s say, for this scenario, Zimt invaded Emastalia for whatever reason. Considering outside of my bloc, I probably get along the best with Emastalia, I could use the “liberation” Casus Belli to go and liberate them. You can’t use this to install a friendly government there, though. I can’t install a socialist Emastalian government, it’s given back to his old one.

HUMANITARIAN:
If a nation is committing a serious crime against humanity, such as genocide, then one can use the “humanitarian” Casus Belli to intervene and put a stop to it.

CN BUSINESS:
The Confederacy of Nations provides an international law making body. Whether it’s a Manillan Convention breach of significant value, or someone destroys an OPHCM recognized site, intervening on behalf of the Confederacy is seen as this Casus Belli.

And that’s all I can think of for now. If any of you guys have any other ideas, feel free to tend me.
