The attempt of achieving independance by the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul have been victorious, to the extend that the independance sentiment has spread to Santa Catarina, its neighbourgh state, which acompanied the independance. However, unlike our timeline, this movement wasn't spearheaded by racist sentiments due to the state having a majority-white popultion compared to the rest of the country, but by a socialist revolutionary seal. Once the Brazilian administration left Rio Grande do Sul and the movement was victorious, who will lead the new nation was the next matter. To the original revolutionarie's disdain, Rio do Grande do Sul could not maintaing itself, and thus international cooperation was needed. Thankfuly, a quite popular politician named Joao do Silva Pereira, an uruguayan-brazilian whose life has been the spread of Socialism with Chinese characteristics internationaly, and the main talk-point of Xi Jinpign thought and Deng Xiapoing thought in Portuguese, had the endorsement of the Chinese People's Republic, making him a solid choice.

Thus Joao came to power, and with him, comraded who have now become revolutionary figureheads, among those being Antonio Rodrigues Rodrigues, standing at 78 years old, having spend his life in the study of Juche and socialism in Korea, to the extend of being the head of the Juche faction of the rulign party, and Xiaozi Jingxu, a relatively young Chinese student whom had made acquantice with Antonio and Joao in Heilongjang, who came as a political advisor. These revolutionary figures led a four-year long transitionary state at first, modeled after maoist pre-deng China, in which the party secured its base in order to properly fucntions. With that, Joao publicly anounced that the nation would be following "Socialism with Chinese characteristics in a Brazilian focus", turnin the nation into what it is now, Novo Rio Grande, or New Big River if translated literally to English.

Since then, it has been clear that the nation by the day imitates China's government, albeit with a stronger authoritarian or military stance, due to the ideologgy's focus on the importance of the vanguard party. Right now, it can be said that Novo Rio Grande is currently undergoing its own "cultural revolution", hallmarked by the establishment Peacekeeping force, a quasi-military organization in charge of purging from counter-revolutionary to revisionist ideas spread by "bourgoise infiltrators and sympathisers", which due to the government's special propaganda efforts are coloquialy now know as "undesirables". Antonio has mysteriously disappeard from public since it was rumored that his loyalty swayed towards Juche than Socialism with Chinese characteristics in a Brazilian focus, and Xiaozi Jingxu has been "honorably discharged" from his standing in the revolutionary vanguard and has been relocated to a seat in the parliment where Joao could keep close eyes. Which way is tomorrow for Novo Rio Grande?
