REAL NEWS
HOLIDAY PARTY AT RISK DUE TO CHOCOLATE SHORTAGE
Gale Weathers | News Editor

The Government Island Events Committee is facing mounting criticism over its planning of the 2020 Holiday Party, following reports that it failed to buy an adequate amount of chocolate for the traditional hot chocolate.

Yan Ule, Chair of the Events Committee, told this newspaper that there is enough chocolate for everyone in Government Island and that reports to the contrary are grossly innacurate. This conflicts with public records of purchase orders, which show that the Events Committee ordered 20% less chocolate this year than in 2019. When confronted with this information, Ms Ule insisted that there is enough chocolate to spare and that the Committee already had chocolate in storage, thus explaining the lower amount that was ordered this year.

The controversy has reached the Cabinet. Prime Minister P. Guin, has said that she is very concerned about the success of the 2020 Holiday Party and that she will hold a meeting today with the Events Committee to ensure that they had all the resources they need to hold the party as planned. Sources close to the Cabinet say that there is some discomfort over the lack of contact between them and the Events Committee, a situation much different from the close cooperation that was seen last year.
