The Third Battle of the Celebes Sea was a significant naval battle in the Circum-Pacific War that took place on 30 October 2020 in the Celebes sea, 1 month after Cayenne Minor attacked Philippine airbases. Several squadrons of Santruvian and Philippine jets faced off an attacking fleet of the Minori Navy. This is the first naval battle in history to exclusively use directed energy weapons. The ships and aircraft which participated in the battle all had installations of laser weaponry. Despite both sides employing lasers, none of them utilized any energy shields; thus many of the units sent to battle were either destroyed, or suffered massive casualties. Either way, the battle resulted in massive casualties for both sides, with the only real victory being that the Philippine planes managed to take down a Minori experimental Submarine.
