Political Geography of Scotatrovian States and Territories

Adarse - Adarse has drifted away from the People's Forum for years. The party’s gains in rural areas are often overwhelmed by Social Democratic and Liberal gains made in suburbs, particularly in Saluto and surrounding cities near the border with Ithra.

Alleuze - Social Democrats and Liberals aren’t very competitive in most of the state and have been beset by problems with candidate selection. Alleuze hasn't been competitive in years, with the lowest margin a People's Forum candidate has won in the state being 24% back in 2012.

Allons - Last "competitive" in 2007, Allons has been pushed to the left by the growth of Sariego. Despite recent attempts by the People's Forum to win some statewide office, there is no sign of opportunity in a state that continues to be seen moving to the left.

Atalon - The People's Forum aren’t really competing for the state’s electoral districts, but are focused on winning back the seats lost in the 2022 legislative elections. The Liberals and Social Democrats have won statewide offices and the state in elections consistently since the 1980s.

Avaria - The relationship between this state and the People's Forum says it all. They performed worse in Avaria in 2022 than they did in 2017, however they perform better in the rest of the state outside of the coastal south, where the Liberal and Social Democrats thrive.

Beauvain - The steady expansion of Ugion and its suburbs has turned Beauvain into a tossup state. Voting for the winner every year since 2002 with the exception of 2017, it can clearly be seen that any of the three major parties have an even chance of winning the state.

Cadecia - Since 2007, the winning presidential candidate has won Cadecia with a comfortable margin. The People's Forum have tried to cut Social Democratic and Liberal margins along the coastal metro areas, while the Social Dems. and Liberals are trying to stretch their influence to the inland portions of the state.

Casturas - The appeal for the People's Forum in this state has slipped since 2007, when Lawrence Perez’s modest gains in the suburbs of Eritus and Oleria were outpaced by the People's Forum gains in the rest of the state. Since then the state has become increasingly left-wing.

Chastre - Social Democratic strength in the upstate and Liberal strongholds along much of the coast of the channel has kept the state mostly left wing for years. Miguel Harrison was able to appeal to voters in 2007 however, and it was one of many states that went comfortably to Lawrence Perez in 2002 to flip.

Cortana - In 2022, the People's Forum did better in the areas of the state that were located outside the Agon and Ebinon metros in the north and south. Winning with an average margin of 20% since 2002, the Social Democrats and Liberals don't have to worry about races in Cortana being competitive.

Elejalde - One of the heartlands of the modern People's Forum, Elejalde has remained stubbornly out of reach for left wing candidates this century. Shifts in suburban votes has shaken things up, with Zanandea Sector, where more than half of ballots are cast, changing from safely PF territory to a toss-up.

Estibeira - The state of Estibeira is a layup for the People's Forum. Liberals and Social Democrats haven’t cracked 40 percent of the vote since the state was established. Santiago Diaz's total in 2022, 30 percent of the vote, was the second worst any left wing nominee had performed since 2002.

Gana - Gana has not been competitive in a presidential election since 1972. Despite 57,000 people voting for Sylvia Rodriguez in the 2022 election, that didn't stop Santiago Diaz from capturing over 75,000 votes and winning in a landslide, leading with a 14% margin over Rodriguez.

Ianatea - The last time the left seriously worried about losing this state was way back in 1972, when president Diego Amaya ran for a second term. Ianatea has since added over 2 million voters since then, most of them in Dalera and its increasingly left swinging suburbs.

Ibaea - Ibaea is another state that hasn't been competitive in decades. Liberals and Social Democrats now ride out of the Engium metro with a margin of 1 million votes or more, and once-red suburban counties have abandoned the PF, more than erasing People's Forum gains in upstate areas.

Lezama - The People's Forum haven’t competed seriously here since the state's inception and struggle even with the sort of working-class voters they win easily in most of the country. Most of the ads that are aired in Amara are aimed primarily at neighboring right wing areas of Avaria and Atalon.

Martrin - Rodriguez won handily in the state in 2022, easily improving on the results of the PF nominees in 2012 and 2017. The PF also easily secured all 3 seats in Martrin's parliamentary delegation in 2020 with little opposition, and retained onto it with similar margins in 2022.

Merelo - Winning the state once in 2007, the PF has continued to lose in Merelo in every race since. One of the main reasons for the People's Forum win in 2007 was that they gained ground in rural areas. Now, it is lost in the cities, and a shift in the suburbs of Osir and Arcis has closed up the race.

Mettray - Despite some gains in local and state legislative races, the PF remain in the minority here. Much of the state moved toward the PF in 2007 when they won, a shock to several political pundits at the time. The suburbs of Vera have raced in the other direction, and in 2022 Rodriguez lost by 10%.

Monce - Tempting to the People's Forum, with a large number of rural voters who have left the Liberals and Social Democrats behind, Monce leans to the left of the upper Mediterranean. The large number of college-educated voters is a factor, and refugee-fueled diversity in Viratis is another.

Neal Isles - Liberals and Social Democrats never have to worry about losing the Neal Isles. The left-wing parties have easily won the Neal Isles every year since 1958. Due to the scale and density of the islands, the People's Forum lose just about everywhere.

Norva - Tough for the People's Forum before Rodriguez, no PF candidate has won the state since 2007. Struggles with suburban voters have badly wounded the People's Forum performance in Norva in recent years. PF losses around Arcano have made it hard for the party to get to 50%.

Orada - Orada is another state that tilts between the left and right in every election. This time around, the PF misjudged Orada in 2022, investing time and money into a place where one of the party’s bases, working-class voters had deserted it. The PF gained ground everywhere outside of the coasts.

Palorca - Palorca is a state that has voted consistently for the PF in every election since 2002. The sparsely populated left-wing strongholds in the north of the state are overshadowed by the more right-wing south. The left have added votes in the suburbs of Castrolana, but not enough to be competitive.

Pieres - Won by President Diaz in 2022 by a little over 5%, Pieres is another of Scotatrova's swing states. Voters in the southern, rural portion of the state have become increasingly hostile to the left-wing parties, but have balanced it out by making gains in and around the Eras metropolitan area in the north.

Roisel - Gabriel Marquez won in 2012 but the state’s more conservative voters have moved at warp speed toward the PF, putting it just out of reach for the left-wing parties. The state was seriously contested in 2022 however, being won by Rodriguez by only 2% points, the closest of any state that election.

Romosea Islands - The territory's distance from the mainland has made campaigning in the islands rare. The last time the People's Forum sent someone to campaign was all the way back in 1972. It is also the most safely left-wing of the three overseas territories, often won with margins close to 20%.

Salece - Gabriel Marquez won the state by a landslide in 2012, but the People's Forum have cut the margins since, running up the score outside of Mortas and Perla and winning when they pull ahead in suburbs. The Liberals would swamp them in 2022 however, securing all 3 of the state's seats in parliament.

Santia - The Social Democrats and Liberals have not won anything here since 2012, and Rodriguez has given fuel to the suburban conservatives who now dominate state politics. The left-wing parties have barely tried to win the state, but races around Usrand, Ramada and Sumanthal are competitive.

Serreta - The People's Forum have almost taken over completely here, holding every statewide office except for the state senate. Videira and surrounding sectors have begun to trend left, and the Liberals are trying to hold on to defend the parliamentary seat around Melicena that they captured in 2022.

Valoria - The growth of Promethia and its suburbs have kept Valoria out of reach for the People's Forum, the closest margin within winning the state being 9% in 2007. The Liberals swept Promethia and two southern Social Democratic districts in 2022, while the PF is focusing on keeping control of their 3 seats.

Vulra - Liberal and Social Democratic designs on Vulra were a source of People's Forum mirth for a decade. That changed in 2022, when Liberals made huge advances in the suburbs of every major city and the national party began investing to swing seats, being successful in flipping 3.
