South Greece is one of the few remaining nations to have a fully functioning telegram service. The General Secretary of the Central Committee of the South Greek Titoist Communist Party, Yorgos Mentis, is an avid morser and also operates, in cooperation with the Secretary of Telecommunications and Information, the station emitting the General Secretary's declarations on the Red and Blue Radical, the official state newspaper, as well as a small-scale telegram station in Elafonisos. Although telephones, mobile phones and Internet communications constitute a part of life in South Greece, citizens view telegraphy as the way to cope when everything else fails.
