Unionists -

When I joined the region, around nine months ago, I did not initially anticipate getting into regional politics. Then I ran for Senate in the immediate next Senate Election and to my surprise, got into it. At the time, the region was making its transitional period into a new constitution and having some rough times regarding political uncertainty as well as the prospect of the first President of the Union and how they would run it.

During this time, I was given the honour of being nominated and later subsequently successfully appointed to the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs. Since then, I have been working closely with the rest of the Phoenix Administration, to spearhead the redevelopment of the region into new activity, more specifically in my case; to re-open and re-engage diplomacy with our close friends and allies - Which resulted in major accomplishments on the international stage, including but not limited to events such as the opening of embassies with The East Pacific and the region being invited to the NS Great Exhibition. Of course, this accolade list is something you've previously heard from President Phoenix, as it was under their administration that this took place.

During that time, I learned a great deal about the wider world outside the region, while discussing the prospects of and negotiating important treaties and pacts with regions interested in such ties. Because of this, I stand renewed to continue developing our region into a greater place. As a result, I have decided that the focus of my campaign would be to look inward.

Our political scene is not quite as stagnant as it used to be, but it can be more active and more populated than it is now. My chief goal for this would-be presidency, is to encourage and promote involvement in the region, so that it may continue to flourish under future governments.

The citizens of the region are the foundation upon which we build it - If we do not ensure our region's life-supply is continually refreshed and advanced, then can we truly say we are going anywhere? Or would we be just potentially perpetuating a cycle? That's not to say that the same person is not capable of continually producing good results; Just that our political pool must stay open and expansive - Promoting merits, ideas and capability and discouraging being able to win just by default.

And so now we begin to enter the new term of Presidency. Outside of my focus on encouraging regional political activity, my promise is that for every other area of interest, I will maintain the course of action. Simply keeping the engine ticking over while we expand on our citizen base. Outside of what I've elucidated here, I just don't have any ideas of what to do. That's not to say nothing will happen - I'm an open person and would make for an open President; and hopefully alongside my running mate Glaciosia, who themselves has done well for themselves in the region as they have contributed actively and frequently to the region's growth over the past eight months under the Phoenix Administration with active involvement in sponsoring and writing legislation in addition to their long, fruitful time serving as Senator, as well as their impeccable contribution to the operations as Minister of the Census, whose work I had the distinct honour of witnessing first-hand. With such an impressive series of accolades to their name, I have no doubt that they will perform admirably as Vice President.

And for our government branches,

I happily encourage the revival and healthy growth of the region's participation in the World Assembly and anticipate working with our returning Delegate to maintain this and potentially with, if and when Asdersland so chooses to continue it, the program to Promote Influence Growth.

I definitely anticipate the continued growth of our Foreign Affairs as we would maintain its upward trend of opening diplomacy and bringing regions together.

I would support our Culture with their many ongoing projects such as Unioncraft and Game Nights.

I back the Ministry of Defence's mission to liberate, defend and detag, alongside friendly military powers with mutual aims.

I wish to continue and bolster the Ministry of the Census's work to diligently process citizenship applications and recruit new nations to the region.

The Ministry of Justice, I actually have a plan for beyond just a platitude - I think everyone will be pleased by my choice of Minister and I enjoy the prospect of working with them, just as much as I do with the other potential nominees, which I have personally handpicked for the occasion.

Am I going to even come close to Phoenix's previous presidential accomplishments?
No. That's a high bar for anyone, let alone me. I'd barely even be a good President.

I place my full trust in the Cabinet I have envisioned, to keep the Union running for the one term I want to take, to try and ensure that when we leave the Phoenix's nest, so to speak, we don't just fall and crash. Granted, there's no possible way to have any kind of safety net in this regard, if so, that would have been accomplished long ago. Our best and frankly, only bet, is encouraging political activity in the region.

Am I capable of that? Probably. Will another candidate be more capable of that? ...Potentially.

We can't definitively know this until after the fact. It's up to you, the citizenry, to decide how we move forward from here.

Signed,
Druing
