2017 Victory Speech After Defeating A Raider Force of More Than 70 Nations

Friends, Filipinos, Fellowmen,

Ubusan ng lahi kung ubusan ng lahi! Ipagbunyi at magpasalamat magmuli para sa ating natatanging tagumpay. Tayo ang nagwagi mga kabalen, mga kabanwa, mga kabayan.

It has been a week since our truly world-class and successful operation. The invaders may not admit it, but this is a decisive and strategic victory in our favor. Mabuhay!

But in case a speech as befitting my position is even necessary, here comes a boring one.

I have been serving the Philippines for more than six years, which actually is mostly this region's lifetime. When we began, the Philippines is a little region of around 10 to 15 members. We were rated to have weak regional power, and most regions have not even heard of the Philippines. We barely had any embassies. If I recall correctly, this was my first region, and I have always loved her. Indeed, it has always been a dream of mine to serve in any capacity. It was not within my grasp then to be this region's delegate and president, considering I was then youngest of all member nations, but as history goes, the mantle of leadership was passed on to me.

Fast forward today. A dozen or so invasion attempts later, with the latest being one of the largest not only in this region's experience, but in the world, the Philippines stands strong. Yes, we are far from our peak of 150+ members, 100+ embassies, and rated as strong regional power back in the day, but we can never be too late to start again, and reach new heights together. More so, we can view this on a positive light. As invasions against us grow larger, it is hard evidence that our region is a rising star in international geopolitics. Our strategic place in the world can no longer be ignored by both enemies and allies. Truly, I am now the oldest of all members here. The only one remaining of those veterans, facing both internal and external threats, yet still securing victory by our people for our people. I hate to admit it, but it seems my overstaying here has become a foundation of our unity, stability, and progress. Well, at least that is what others say. My hope is that you find this region a nice place to stay, too, and be part of the foundation we have been building through the years. It is not only about you or me, but all of us here.

I have always carried the ideals of a shared world. Sharing the one dream. Sharing the one world. In the past, our regional achievements have been regarded lowly, if not at all. Our international significance has been downplayed. However, this renewed position of the Philippines in the global stage provides that we can no longer ignore the world around us, nor can the world ignore us. Even now, our considerate allies from regions of all sizes and numbers have responded to our call. Their support has provided huge contributions in our victory, and this cannot be overstated. My sincere gratitude goes to all who have come to our aid, and as I have always campaigned for, we are willing to be a helping hand, even a hidden hand, for those who are in need.

Let us aspire beyond being on the receiving end. Be encouraged to join the World Assembly. In a shared world, each one of us can do something for someone. Let us show to all that the Philippines is more than ready to take on a global role, and prove to be a true beacon of liberty all over the world.

This may not mean much now, but a simple yet strategic vision is more than its face value. It gives hope that tomorrow would not just be another day, but another opportunity. It provides sense of direction for even the smallest of force can deal great influence when focused. Let us all work together. Nasa inyo ang lakas, kapangyarihan, at saligan.

As for myself, I cannot ignore all the failures and the setbacks we have experienced in our six years. I vividly remember those who have openly challenged my performance. Upholding democratic principles and our regional constitution, I am taking responsibility for them, and if our region sees a better future without my service, then I am only to oblige. While it will take time to consolidate our defense program, I believe we can provide for a smooth and peaceful transition as the public requires it in the near future. The love for our region and our members cannot be outweighed by individual ambitions. Hinding hindi magbabago ang damdamin. Sure, you might say this is just a game, and I just being silly or cheesy, but really, no game no life.

Thank you to all of you. It has been a roller coaster ride, or rather, a LRT/MRT ride. In everything, to God be the glory.

Lagi't lagi, ang inyong lingkod.
